[ Well the ship could only stay empty but for her captain for so long. And I'm sure the audience is just DYING to know what happens when these older folks show up and find their ship is captained by a 17-year-old with an attitude problem.

[ lioriley eases back, pushes herself to a stand as well as tay begins to move. her gaze immediately flickers to the aforementioned scars, though she casts them away just as quickly as not to be rude. ]

True enough, I suppose. But I do think the kitchen floor is far less suited to sleeping than many other areas of the ship - even if they are not feather beds or anything as comfortable. [ like... a chair, or something. ] Wherever you choose to sleep is not my business though, so I apologize for being intrusive.

[ Tay yawns and runs a hand through her hair. ]

I do chairs sometimes. Floor's better, most've the time. Can stretch out flat. We meet proper yet?

[ dont you sass her young lady. ]

We have not. [ she bows her head in a proper greeting, smiling lightly. ] I am Lioriley, one of your new ... crewmates. [ that word sounds so odd on her tongue. ]

Shall I call you captain Tay, then? [ she says it sincerely. like so sincerely it has to be a joke, right? RIGHT? no, she's serious. ] I will be sure to.

Uh. [ Okay, she's mostly awake now, and she manages not to actually laugh in Lior's face, just look extremely dubious of her sanity and intelligence. ] No, just Tay's fine.

Very well, Tay. It is a pleasure to meet you - all things considered. Might I ask how long you have been on this ship?

Eh. Been here about a week, but I transferred over from the Starstruck. Been on the fleet about 3 weeks, I guess.

I see. And have you met our other crewmates yet?

Ah, I met him as well. [ it is, because she's not really sure what else to say. tay's not really giving her much to go on here. ] He did not seem too pleased to speak with me. Did you happen to fair better?

[ Sorry, Lior, it's not you, honest. Or well, it is you, but it's Tay's impression of you more than anything. ]

I guess. Talked about weapons.

[ Seriously what is with this lady, it's not like Tay can't be curious about someone, but seriously, she got woken up for this? ]

[ WHAT DID SHE DO. also she got woken up because sleeping on the floor is probably bad for her back, and lioriley, for some reason, worries about people she doesn't even know. ]

So I noticed. [ apparently she's the only one that wants to talk. which is fine to a degree. ]

At any rate, it was a pleasure speaking with you, Tay. Should you require anything of me, I will likely be in the medical wing.

Seriously though, Tay doesn't actually realize that her family's habit of grabbing little bits of sleep literally whenever and wherever they can when they're somewhere at least moderately secure is in any way unusual.
