(no subject)

Who: The intrepid crew of the SS Paisley!
Broadcast: anything could happen, I guess?
Action: Anywhere on the ship
When: From the shuffle through the end of the month

[ Well the ship could only stay empty but for her captain for so long. And I'm sure the audience is just DYING to know what happens when these older folks show up and find their ship is captained by a 17-year-old with an attitude problem.

Let the games begin... ]

That depends on an awful lot.
invigorates: on a Friday night. I can relate (tom cruise can't help you.)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-24 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
[ does she really want to ask this-- ] Such as...?
dadlife: (would you be scared?)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-24 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
Whether or not the word "friend" can actually be applied.
invigorates: what with you being an incompetent sack of shit. (I didn't think you had it in you.)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-24 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
What would you define a 'friend' as then, Joel? If you do not mind my asking.
dadlife: (to escape what's inside me)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-24 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Trust. Backing that trust up. Not a whole lotta people worth leaving your back open to.
invigorates: (shoutout to the self echo)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-24 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
[ lioriley falls silent, shifting somewhat uncomfortably on the balls of her feet. maybe that wasn't a good topic to bring up. ]

You are right, trust is a very important aspect of friendship - of any relationship, really. [ she should leave it there. just agree and go along her merry way, but she can't. because she's an idiot and she refuses to leave this blatant tension in the air. ] You are not a man who trusts so easily, I take it?
dadlife: (no sign the roaring thunder)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-24 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
[hmm. let's see, joel. do we want to talk about our feelings, or turn this around on her?]

Well, aren't you the nosiest little thing.

[let's see what's behind door #2, bob!!

[it's the loneliness that comes with a tone of voice that snide.]
invigorates: (ive always wanted a big package)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-24 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ what a completely unexpected turn of events. ]

I ... [ this time the lines on her skin seem to dim, her eyes quickly averted to stare at the adjacent wall like she's a child that just got scolded. she is being nosy, isn't she? ] Forgive me for assuming, for prying. [ for existing in your general area, apparently.

she isn't sure what to say now - not sure she should say anything for fear of insulting him or annoying him further.

eventually she manages something, voice low; ]

I should let you get back to bed.
dadlife: (and it's made its home inside)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-24 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[look now i feel like an asshole let's. let's change the subject.]

... Why do the... [words??] ... the lines on your skin. Why do they glow?

[tell me about you so that maybe i hate it less]
invigorates: on a Friday night. I can relate (live like a windrammer)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-24 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh? [ well that catches her off guard. ] Oh - the glowing is simply a result of the magical energy infusing with the rest of my body. [ there she goes with magic again! she tentatively steps closer to joel, extends one of her hands so he can see the lines that curve around her fingers. the lines are raised above the skin, and they pulse with what seems to be the beat of her heart. it's weird. ]

I have come to find comparing them to human veins seems to suffice. Though so far as I am aware, human blood does not glow.
dadlife: (would you turn your back on me?)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-29 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[okay so it's a magic thing. he looks so tense, but he's... really fucking trying.]

... And they get brighter and dimmer because...?
invigorates: on a Friday night. I can relate (SEE YOU LATER FUCKERS!)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-30 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
A biological reaction to my magic. They are directly linked to my heart, my brain, every part of me - and react accordingly. [ like now, her heart is steady, and so is the slight pulse of her lines. ]
dadlife: (and if i seem dangerous)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-31 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[okay so when i'm being mean and the lights fade it means you're sad. good to know that makes me feel bad for a reason.]

... [he has no idea what to say now because he just wants to say it's fucking weird.]

And this is... normal. Where you come from.
invigorates: on a Friday night. I can relate (SEE YOU LATER FUCKERS!)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-31 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Normal for my people, at any rate. [ humans tended to react oddly to it at first, too. maybe that's just something all humans did when they saw weird glowing elf women. ]

Does it bother you? [ she can't turn it off if it does, but... ]
dadlife: (stopped in cold to read)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-31 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
... No.

[that's a lie.]

It's just... different.
invigorates: on a Friday night. I can relate (at least these people aren't)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-31 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering we are vastly different creatures, I would assume as much. [ she smiles faintly, shrugging. ]

Have you any other questions for me?
dadlife: (would you turn your back on me?)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-31 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
... How long have you been alive?

[elves are supposed to live forever right, is that true]
invigorates: what with you being an incompetent sack of shit. (I didn't think you had it in you.)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-31 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Five-hundred years. [ true. ]
dadlife: (just wanted to fit in)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-31 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
... And that's normal, too.
invigorates: on a Friday night. I can relate (police cars cant fuckin swim)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-31 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Again, for my people, yes. Our lifespans are significantly longer than humans. [ she frowns. ] Forgive me, that was rude.
dadlife: (with a candle to guide me)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-31 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
... Wasn't rude.

[why do you think that was rude]

I'm the one askin' personal questions.

[look at him trying... so hard to be calm. it's not working very well anymore. he clears his throat.]

I should get back to bed.
invigorates: on a Friday night. I can relate (whoops may have killed a civilian)

[personal profile] invigorates 2015-03-31 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[ because you people DIE SO SOON. ]

I do not mind.

[ she nods, offering a small smile. ]

Very well. You know where to find me, should you need anything.
dadlife: (make the devil change his mind)

[personal profile] dadlife 2015-03-31 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
... Yeah. Thanks.

[at least he said thanks.

[he's gonna just leave now. bye.]
