Bridge
[He's at his station on the bridge now that they're on a drift. He's watching the panels that, for whatever reason or another, the augment in his head lets him understand. Nothing seems to be coming up, but this is the duty assigned to him and he makes sure to do it right. Or at least tries.

Unfortunately, his eyes keep wandering to the seats next to him: the pilot and the captain's chair. He knows that the seat has transferred and that it isn't strange to have leaders change over time, but he's never had someone on his ship actually disappear. Moreover, he's been having trouble contacting some of the people he'd grown close to here lately and...well.

Doudanuki sighs, going back to the panels.]

S'what you get for gettin' attached to humans, I guess.

Kitchen
[As quickly as Rip Hunter had been there, he's gone. Doudanuki doesn't really blame him for transferring to another ship though. It seemed to be pretty normal for people to go where they made the most friends. Sadly, that means no one is cooking anymore so he's back to rummaging around for whatever he can find.

The last planet didn't have a lot to eat in terms of actual food he cared about - mushrooms aside. So the pantry is looking a little more sparse than usual. He's got some last few bits of dried eel and other meat left over, but that won't last long.]

Uggggggh, seriously? How hard is it to have good protein up in space?

Cargo
[He isn't sure who looks after the little garden anymore, but since it was part of his job back at the Citadel, he's taken to doing it here, too.

But only when he thinks no one is looking. After all, he's a sword not a farm tool, right? What would the others think if they saw him willingly getting down into the dirt, checking the plants for rot, fertilizing them to make sure they grew well, or even harvesting herbs and the other produce to dry, or leave cut up in the kitchen for people?

Who knows, but he'll find out since he's down here again and someone's just walked in.]

Wildcard
[Need him elsewhere? The Iskaulit gym for training? At a waystation for picking up supplies? He's there, just hit me up]

[ Kai is on the bridge mostly to give a sense of presence, since as security officer outside of battle scenarios a lot of what he can do takes place off the bridge.

Still, he is the first officer, still, and grateful for that. ]

Not sure anyone else is better, given the nature of this place.

Kitchen

[ Kai's running low on his alcohol stash, but that doesn't stop him from offering what he has left. In fact, after a while of thinking he decides to bring out almost all of what he has, setting it out. It doesn't look like much laid out bottle to bottle, but it's probably still more than one elfin needed.

At least it'll make it clear that he can't keep inviting people over for drinks. Besides, McCoy probably had bottles of his own, and this way they're not just drinking their departed captain's drinks.

On one of his trips with his hands full, Kai notes someone else in the kitchen.]

Don't drink it all at once.

Gym

[ Kai can also be found in the gym, getting out frustration and boredom alike with his assault on a punching bag. His concentration is good, and the blows are the sort that would hurt were they to land on a person.

He's breathing heavily when he finally stops, having been pretty oblivious for a while now. ]

Can I help you?

[It's not actually her walking in then, but finally saying something after she's watched him for a few minutes. This is kinda what she does.]

You missed a little in the upper left.

[If he turns to look, he'll find a short, silver haired teenage girl atop a pile of crates overlooking his activities with vague interest.]

[He hadn't really expected anyone to be listening to him, so when Kai speaks he jumps a little. Then, with a sigh, he pulls his headset off and sets it on the control panels.]

Probably right.

[He runs a hand through his hair and sits back in his chair, looking at all the blinking lights in front of him.]

It was easier when I was a sword. I could just ignore all you guys coming and going all the time.

[He has to admit, it's nice to be in actual dirt again. As much as a sword feels comfortable around metal, the fact that he's constantly surrounded by--

HOLY SHIT WHAT THE HELL SOMEONE HE DOESN'T KNOW JUST TALKED TO HIM

Doudanuki jumps, knocking over the garden supplies he had sitting out, and spins around, brandishing his pruning shears like a weapon.

Except it's just a teenaged girl sitting on the crates so??? Maybe still a threat??

Probably still a threat.]

Who the hell are you and why're you on my ship?!

[Fie sighs heavily, moving forward off the crates with her feet landing lightly on the bay floor. Ignoring the shears being pointed at her, the newcomer walks right by him to begin retrieving the gardening tools. The reply she gives is casual and unconcerned with whatever he may think.]

I figured out this wasn't the ship I wanted to be on about forty minutes ago, but why not hang out a little? Name's Fie.

[You know.

Once upon a time, having a Doudanuki blade pointed at you was actually scary. He struck fear into men on the battlefield for how proficient he was at killing them.

And now here's a tiny teenager just waltzing right on by like it ain't no thing.

Doudanuki sighed and lowered the shears - they probably ruined his scary demeanor anyway.]

Doudanuki Masakuni. Have you been sittin' there for the entire forty minutes?

More like the last fifteen I think.

[The tools all back in place (sans shears), she joins him at the bed of dirt, promptly sticking her hands in and rearranging some of it at the base of a few plants.]

Here, you needed more soil around this one.

[Well, if she's going to be helpful...Even if it's still kind of creepy that she sat there watching him for fifteen minutes without saying anything.

Damn, Kai, you're security officer. Where the hell were you??]

Uh, thanks. ...I think.

[Doudanuki shuffles slightly to the side away from Fie and drops down to balance on the balls of his feet again. He was busy pruning away dead leaves to mix into the soil when she showed up, so might as well go back to that.]

You do a lot of farming?

Mm.

[She's concentrating on evening out the soil where she needs to, so her acknowledgment of the potential thank you is minimal. Fie grabs the trowel to assist in the task.]

I was in the gardening club at school. We mainly grew flowers, but I learned a little more than that.

...Huh, so they got clubs for that now?

[Modern society, you are weird as heck during peacetime.]

What'd you need the flowers for? There some kind of flower shortage in the world?

You could still ignore us, but that doesn't sound like much fun.

[ Kai is king of the casual encounter, and he thinks that sounds pretty lonely. ]

At least he's gone, not dead.

[Fie stops what she's doing and just stares at him.]

[.......huh.

Okay, so Cloud had been looking for swords on all the ships, but he hadn't actually expected to find one, much less one that looks good-ish. Cloud glances around the cargo bay; nobody in sight. Maybe it's just something they picked up? Well, if they're gonna just leave it all alone in a cargo bay then it's probably not important to anybody! yoink

Cloud grabs the sword and hurries back onto his shuttle, reluctantly engaging autopilot so he can check out his prize. It's way smaller than he prefers but he's used a katana before, so he can manage. It's definitely better than anything else he's found, including those lame laser guns, so he'll make it work.]

Let's get a good look at you, [Cloud mutters, unsheathing the blade.]

[Doesn't sound like fun to you, but he's had centuries of practice at it, Kai. Don't doubt him.]

Yeah, so far as we know he's only gone. What even happens when people disappear here? Do they really go home?

[That Atroma-fed line sounds like bullcrap to him.]

[And he's going to stare right back because ANSWER MY QUESTION?? IT'S A LEGIT QUESTION OKAY. A REAL, LEGIT QUESTION AND HE NEEDS TO KNOW.]

[Gardening was messy work, so who could blame him for leaving his sword behind when he went to wash the dirt off? Honestly, it seemed like a pretty natural thing to do. People left stuff everywhere on a regular basis, so it should have been safe.

Until Cloud, that is.

When the sword left the ship, Doudanuki was drying his hands in the bathroom and felt the tug. His vessel was getting too far from him, and it was moving on its own accord. At first, he thought one of the others on the ship had just moved it, but the distance started growing greater and he knew.

Some jackass just stole me?!

As Cloud unsheathes the blade - which is quite handsome and sturdy, with less of a curve than aesthetically minded katana - there is a blinding flash of light and a flurry of cherry blossom petals. Where once he was alone, now there is an angry looking Japanese man wearing armor and swearing at him.]

What the hell do you think you're doing?!

Holy shit! [Goes into auto fend-for-yourself mode and tries to block Mr. Cherry Blossom here with his own body which, like it's a pretty sweet body dude, not too curvy, good weight and balance.] Who the hell are you?! How'd you get in here?! [It is way too small in here for a scuffle so if you could just ninja back to whatever viewing park you came from that'd be great]

[Do you see his face? He's entirely unimpressed by Cloud's attempt to block him with himself. He stands as tall as he can inside the shuttle, crossing his arms over his chest.]

I'm the sword you just stole. What the hell are you thinkin' just takin' stuff?

I don't know. I could swear I'd been back home, but my body was here the whole time.

[ Kai lifts his hand and rubs a mark on his neck, drawing attention to the subtle marking of what looks like scales. ]

[Cloud's face scrunches as he tries to take that in- the sword you just stole- but you know what? He has honestly come across weirder. A physical manifestation of a sword in the shape of a person is not even close to the top of his bullshit meter.] Uh, I was thinking that I've been unarmed since I got here, and I don't like that.

[But, look, okay, while he is willing to tolerate theft he's not quite as willing to tolerate kidnapping. So with a reluctant sigh he flips the blade to hold it hilt-out, scowling down at the console. He should probably turn this thing around...] Look, I'm sorry.

No one likes it, but that don't mean you have to go kidnapping swords.

[Not that...a newbie would probably know that he was a sword. He sighs and takes the blade back, slipping it into its sheath. While he can't exactly be cut by himself, the human here can and waving a sharp katana around in a tiny shuttle is usually a bad thing. He'll cut this guy some slack though and after securing his vessel, he turns to the stranger, arms crossed over his chest.]

But don't worry about it. It's not like you knew it was my body.

[And...]

There should be a forge openin' up soon. You'd have to get materials, but you then you wouldn't have t'be unarmed for long.

[Huh. He notices those markings on his neck and raises an eyebrow.]

So that's what happened when you dropped into a coma?

[That is Literally what it means, buddy,]

Can't wait. [Can you hear the hype in his voice? Probably not, because he's not hyped. He's still pissed, even as he turns the shuttle around back to Doudanuki's ship.] Where the hell am I supposed to get the proper materials to make a sword? [Like, a five foot one.]
