Yet even as hope failed Telperion bore at last upon a leafless bough one great flower of silver

Who: Maglor and YOU
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Iskaulit - Garden
When: NOW/anytime this month tbh

Video

[ Maglor is sitting in one of the rooms just off the garden in Iskaulit - a dark room, where a small little sapling is glowing. Yes. It's not your imagination. The little tree is glowing. (So is Maglor, but the fleet should be used to their glowy elves by now). ]

Milady Makie is asleep, so I thought I should make this announcement on her behalf - as per the wishes of Doctor Beverly Crusher, we thought it would be good to have a memorial in the gardens for those who leave us. The tree is still very young, but you are welcome to come and leave candles or simply to sit and remember. The gardens remain open to all, as well, despite the good Doctor leaving.

Please feel free to come and if you wish to help, anything would be welcome.

[ He reaches to turn off the feed and then pauses ]

Ah, and if anyone wishes any forgework done, the forge should be finished, soon. Please contact me, Sokka, or my brother Maedhros or cousin Fingon, if you wish anything.

Action

[ Maglor can be found anywhere in the garden, tending to basic chores, or in the room with the little sapling, singing softly to it of growing strong and bright. ]

[There's another elf nearby, in the gardens, but he doesn't have the same glow as Maglor. Daeron's found his way to the nearest patch of life and has settled cross-legged by some of the saplings. He sings softly to encourage growth, eyes closed as he soaks up the sense of life around him. The air isn't quite as cold or stale here, and is a comfort to the brittle silver-haired elf.]

[Kitty is in the library when she checks the network and sees the message. Instead of responding there she finds herself walking to the garden. She clearly needs more elf friends because she is decidedly not accustomed to the glowing. Then again, it's not unheard of for mutants to glow when activating their powers, so she also doesn't seem bothered by it. She stands awkwardly looking at the man and the small tree for a moment.]

You know you're glowing, right?

(OOC: I was literally just thinking I wanted them to play in game again (I think they only did once?) the moment the notif that this thread went up appeared in my inbox.)

[No, he heard Maglor coming. Was expecting it, even. He's half tempted to flee, but that will solve nothing.]

He abandoned you.

[And he doesn't try to deny doing anything, or feign he doesn't know what the other bard's talking about.]

[Living the jack-o-lantern lifestyle?]

I didn't mean you should. That's an always kind of thing? [If so definitely easier to notice in the dark.]

[She nods.] How is it that the tree is glowing then?

[The slap sends him sprawling, as he'd raised no defense against it. He curls into himself, eyes slitting open to watch Maglor. Only to hiss out a breath and push himself up, but not to strike back.]

He left you behind! I heard the wind tell of his death and no whisper of your own and I knew. [His jaw clenches and he struggles for breath, calming breaths. Then, so very quietly.] And you are not?

[His fingers clutch at cloth before relaxing, those sobs tear at his heart and slowly he reaches out towards Maglor before pulling back again to wrap around knees, drawing them close.]

...He promised me not to abandon you again. I demanded proof.

[Daeron draws in a ragged breath before letting it out. His initial answer is to slowly reach out, fingers inching closer until the tips brush over Maglor's hair. Then softly he starts singing, a song of times passed. except not London shush]

He left me some things. A blanket and food...

[He pulls away again, not forcing his touch on the other for longer than the song itself lasts. And manages to bite back the 'Not always' before it slips out.]

...I need more time to see it again.

(The song calls to him and he ventures into the sapling's room, sticking to the shadows. Haunted eyes will watch Maglor, taking in the peaceful sight and committing it to memory. This is good and he should not touch it.

But he can't stay away either.)

(Maedhros goes without thinking; without pause, slipping into those open arms. He cannot cut himself off from Maglor again. Never again. That isn't how they should cope.

It's together or nothing.)

Your voice is beautiful.

(He returns what he is given, settling against Maglor, his arms holding him.)

The sapling likes it too. The air in here is clean and peaceful.

It is like any other tree or any child for that matter! (He stretches out a hand to touch the trunk.) I sense tenacious life.
