(The ever reclusive red-haired Elf has set himself a project. Some of the blades he has forged are before him and he is using a small tool to engrave patterns upon them. His fiery hair is tied back, revealing the scars on his face and the tip missing from one of his ears.)

My brother has offered to forge items for those interested. I happily join him in that endeavor and I think myself capable of making weapons other than swords, daggers and the like. Do not think a project impossible; if we can find the parts, we will see it done.

(His deep voice is calm, but there is something distant - sad - about it. To those with keen eyes, he may look pale and tired.)

(When he is not working on his blades - or other projects - Maedhros - all seven plus feet of him - can be found wandering the Iskaulit, his gaze distant and his lips moving as he mumbles to himself. Likely in ancient Quenya.

Nelyo. [ Maglor finds him, he always does, reaches to touch his arm, eyes sad and knowing ]

I'm here. Talk to me?

(The words come to an awkward halt and there is tenderness in his eyes as he comes back to the present.)

[Okay, this forge business is definitely relevant to her interests, and she needs something sort of specific, so she decides to respond to this.]

Do you think you could make a gauntlet? A brace for my forearm that can eject a blade when I need it?

I do not see why not. (The idea intrigues him and breaks him out of his funk a little.) What is the shape of the ejected blade?

[Oh, good, this is hopeful.]

It's generally similar to the shape of a standard sword blade. It doesn't need to be fancy.

Then the gauntlet need not be widened. I will need to measure your arms and discuss the trigger mechanism.

(Gauntlets he knows, but this one could be useful on Arda.)

[ Maglor doesn't press, lets Maedhros set the pace for what sort of comfort he wants and is capable of accepting right now ]

(A hand raises to touch Maglor's arm - a reassurance that he is real and not some vision.)

I never told you that near the end -

(He speaks softly, hoping not to raise bad memories for his brother.)

I thought you were all that was good in the world and I was all that was bad.

[Seems fair. She nods.]

That makes sense. When would you like to meet?

As soon as you are available. (Then he will draw up schematics and get to work.)

I can come now, if it's convenient.

[She's missed her weapons.]

[ Maglor doesn't move until Maedhros touches him, only then reaching to gently fold his brother's hand in his. He flinches a little at the reminder but shakes his head ]

You were only lost, Nelyo.

Of course. I am on the Iskaulit in a room near the garden. (He is an Elf. While he loves steel and forging - he is also drawn to green life too.)

(His expression falls and his fingers curl towards his scarred palm.)

It takes so little to push me off balance. I am trying to...come to you.

[ Maglor's hands catch his brother's gently ]

I know. It's alright, Nelyo. I'm here. You don't have to push yourself.

Okay. I'll meet you there shortly.

[It doesn't take her long to shuttle over to the Iskaulit, though it might take her a little extra time to find the room he's in. She hasn't explored the Iskaulit much yet.

It's not hard recognize him. His hair is pretty distinctive.]

Hi. Nice garden.

(The kindness makes him ache. His love for Maglor - for his brother's sweet patience - makes him feel utterly unworthy.)

Did I ruin your friendship with him?

(Maedhros stands out no matter where he goes. He inherited his brilliant hair from his mother and grandfather. It is an odd shade for an Arda Elf. Then there is his height. While Elves are generally tall, they are not as tall as him. Clearly some higher being wanted him to be easy to find!)

Isn't it? (He smiles and rises from his table, grabbing a tape measurer, a piece of paper and a pencil.) You should sit in it when you have the chance.

We are not friends. [ Maglor shakes his head ]

Just... we understand each other. That's all.

(He frowns.) Then you should seek a friendship. How often are we understood?

[Wow, he is taller than she expected. You don't really get a feel for height on video feeds.

Her surprise passes quickly, though, and she offers him her right arm for measuring.]

Maybe. I'm not always good at sitting still.

[ Maglor's smile is bittersweet ]

He is Doriath's loremaster. [ He points out sadly ] We will probably never be able to be friends. It's alright, Nelyo. We understand each other.

(He is mostly a gentle giant unless his family is harmed and/or the Silmarils reappear. With the tape measurer, he begins to gather the numbers he needs.)

Neither am I, but it is good practice anyway. My name is Maedhros - if I did not offer it before.

I am aware. (They are in space. Such particularities hardly seem to matter.) If there is a chance, do not deny it because of -

(He motions vaguely.) - and do not shy away from it because of me.

It's not you. [ Maglor squeezes his hand briefly ]
