[Meet Aang, as the tattooed young monk suddenly wakes up in the infirmary bed with a shock.

He jumps to his feet and begins pacing the area while being both highly anxious and slightly dazed.]

Wait! What just happened... Did I really beat the fire lord, or- or was that just a dream?!

Where is everyone...

[Then he pauses as he sees out a window into all of outer space; the monk gasps.]

Oh no...! Where did the world go?!

[At least he still has his pants.]

[He wonders what a gift moogle is. It sounds cute.]

Your home's... a different home than mine, right? [He's getting used to this whole 'different worlds' thing. But he has good news for people from his home, at least.] I'm sorry if it's rough there.

I just wish this place had some animals to ride!

Huh. I guess that makes sense...

Hey, what if we try using the spirit world? That's... almost like teleporting!

Maybe? I mean...it could work? I'll leave that to you, that's your [wiggly fingers] Avatar thing.

[Ok, for serious realises now: ] Are you ok? I mean...with the battle, and everything.

[He knows you were so freaked out about it. ]

[He makes a note to meditate and try that later. It probably won't be very successful.

But Aang makes a calm nod at Sokka's question, while bearing a smile of contentment.]

I'm okay now. The battle's over. It's all finally over.

Most likely. Never seen anybody dressed like you before, so it's a safe bet we're from different worlds. [This isn't new to Axel, though; he's been traveling to other worlds for the Organization for years. He's not even sure which world to call home anymore. He waves a hand, shaking his head.] Ah, it's nothing I can't handle. I'd just rather take some time off, though, so I'm not really complaining too much about being here.

[He blinks then, looking a little surprised.]

Ride? What, like horses?

[It's hard to believe. Everything was going so wrong the last thing Sokka remembers. To hear it goes well, better than well...it's still sinking in. ]

It's been a long time coming.

What happened with the Fire Lord?

[ The calmness in itself is a little worrying, but she decides to try for a smile anyway. Raisin a hand in return she shakes her head. ]

Not anything I'm not used to. It's a little strange up here if you're not used to it, huh?

That's normal, it takes a few days for the anesthetic to wear off. Just go with the flow.

[ she seems relieved enough by it, at least. ]

We're... well, all in outer space, apparently. Or on another planet now, I guess.

It was long fight, but... but I won. I stopped him and I took his bending away. He won't be hurting anyone again.

It is pretty strange! I always liked to look up at the night sky, but I never thought I'd actually be in it! [He meekly chuckles a little at his own comment.]

[????? This is just full of confusion. He rubs at his head a little.]

What's an anesthetic....

Going with the flow sounds like what I do all the time anyway, so I think I can cover that part!

Are you sure? Your world can always have someone on it who dressed really, really unexpectedly! [You gotta open your minds to the possibilities!] That doesn't sound too bad - I'm glad you get a vacation anyway!

Horses...? You mean like ostrich-horses? They're okay, but I prefer ones that're more thrilling! Like... hog monkeys and giant koi!

Yep! I didn't lose my memory or anything. And I'm glad to see that you're alright...

[The last he remembers seeing Katara was on Ember Island, before he stormed off.]

Outer space, yeah. That makes sense. [Somehow being in space makes more sense than he would expect it to.] But why are we in space...?

[And because he has to ask.. ]

So, he's still alive?

It's that junk they give you at the dentist, to make you fall asleep and laugh at stupid crap.

[He nods softly.]

I couldn't do it, Sokka. It just wasn't right. [No melons were sliced on that day.]

But he's not gonna be fire lord anymore. He's done being an enemy... now he'll be a prisoner.

I almost understood all that... except what's a dentist?

[He laughs helplessly. Well, he supposes anything's possible.]

I guess you make a fair point.

Ostrich-horses? [He makes a face.] Never heard of those, actually. I just mean regular horses. Hog... monkeys? Giant koi sound kind of cool. [Like that whale in space he heard about. Yeah, seriously, anything's possible.] Seems like you've got some really interesting animals where you live. We only had regular-sized koi in my hometown.

Like a doctor, but he cleans your teeth and pulls them out when they go bad.

[Sokka's disappointed, but not surprised. If Aang had gone through with it, he probably wouldn't have been their Aang any more. It's the sort of thing that changes people. If he could have asked anyone else to do it, he would have. He just hopes they won't pay for this later down the line. ]

Well. It's not the worst case scenario. At least we won.

What?! Really? Why would anyone ever... pull 'em out?!

[Don't mind him, he's just sticking his hand in his mouth and feeling around to make sure everything's where it should be.]

[Maybe he'll feel better when he gets to see Ozai's humiliated and form and dub him the loser lord.

Aang himself feels proud of what he was able to accomplish, even if he understands that others will be let down by it. He was able to preserve his way of life and who he is. Even though Ozai is still alive, he was still able to take a decisive action in removing him from power.]

We did. [He smiles softly and nods. The memory is fresh enough for him that, despite this odd new environment, he still feels a powerful sense of calm about the fact that it's finally all over.]

The war's stopped now... Things are gonna be okay, Sokka.

[That WOULD make him feel better, yep. That would be a good day. He exhales, it'll be fine. It'll be okay. ]

About time, too. I am so ready to try and live a normal life again.

[Like their lives will ever be normal.]
