{Video} Haunted Vuvuzela Strikes!

Who: Fingon, open.
Broadcast: Fleetwide.
Action: Huntress.
When: Early morning on the 25th.

{The obnoxious sound of a vuvuzela whistles through the air, followed by a thud of a body falling to the ground and rustling sheets. The image that is presented might be rather amusing, as the elegant Elf known as Fingon is on his back, legs sticking up and hair in rare disarray. There's even a look of complete surprise!

Then he breathes out a laugh and struggles to rearrange himself as the sound continues, just out of sight.}

Kano, my dear cousin, I fear you have lost your toy again!

(That is simply a sight he cannot ignore! There will come a knock on Fingon's door with a worried - and curious - Maedhros on the other side.)

Cousin?

[ Gloomily ]

I see it's now randomly producing it's own noise now.

{More rustling before Fingon gives up and calls out.}

Come in, Maitimo! The door should open for you... {He's a bit tied up in bedding, sorry?}

{Fingon loves you cousin, but he's still laughing!}

It only wishes to be heard!

(He is more than happy to come in, though he chastises himself. His poor cousin!)

You are in a mess! (He closes the door behind him and quickly lifts Fingon into his arms, separating him from the bedding.)

I begin to think England is right and it is haunted! I cannot sense any of the Houseless and Mikleo says he cannot sense any of his own world's malice either, but something is not right with that thing!

{The pout is only partially real as Fingon peers up at his tall cousin. It morphs quickly into a relieved smile, embarrassment ignored.}

I was not expecting such a noise!

Nor can I, yet still it comes and goes as it pleases, refusing to be tossed aside.

{A fond little grin.}

Perhaps we should name it so it feels more welcome? It might fuss less if it did!

(He will soon find himself cradled in Maedhros's arms, safe from all the haunted instruments.)

Who would? (However...) You seem to be in a slight state of undress, cousin. What shall we do about that?

Finno, I refuse to name an inanimate object!

[don't mind him, he's just over here on his network device laughing his arse off at that.]

[The noise catches his attention, but he's even more surprised by the state of the man who had apparently fallen out of bed.]

I think I have heard that instrument before. That is a very dangerous thing to lose.

{Always safe! Fingon buries his face against his cousin's neck, ears burning only at the question.}

If it makes its own noise and refuses to permit itself to be flung away, is it still inanimate?

{Fingon makes a ridiculous picture right now! He laughs.}

He does! This is no trick of his, though. {this time}

I agree. It is better to have found it, even if it has not let itself be caged!

Let itself? An instrument is usually fairly easy to contain.

As I am alone in my room, {Fingon comments with a wry little smile} and it was not here when I came in last night, yes. It is not as inanimate as an instrument normally is.

I refuse to dignify it with any claims to sentience!

{EXTRA LOUD BLAST OF SOUND

Fingon winces and turns a pout on his cousin.}

I think you offended it, cousin.

[ Maglor glares at it through the screen ]

{Fingon increases the power of his pout.}

Thankfully the sound finally trails off and the Elf sighs in relief.}

Fingon smiles, finally pulling a robe around him and tying it at his waist.}

We should play together again soon, Kano. With harps or flutes, or sing together as we once did.

I would like that. I picked up a few new pieces from our most recent stop.

[ And none involve a vuvuzela. SO THERE ]

[He has a lot of questions, but picking one to start with it a bit difficult.]

Is it sentient? Or is this more someone else manipulating it?

{Fingon doesn't mind questions!}

I cannot say if it is sentient or being outwardly manipulated by a being unseen. Only that I am not playing it, nor is anyone I can see with my own eyes.

{Delight spreads over Fingon's face.}

Strange. I doubt it's a ghost, given the nature of these ships. It would err someone on your ship with unusual powers.

Much is possible, given the nature of this fleet. {The Elf doesn't seem to mind this mystery.}

[ ... damnit he can't be mad when Fingon looks like that ]

Whatever you want... shall I bring them over while you get dressed, and you can pick?

I like the first, personally. (But he sets Fingon on the bed, gazing at him curiously. May he, ah, finish the job?)

I take it this is normal on your ship? You seem to be more amused than concerned.
