[Wrath's sleep hours aren't the most regular, though she has a definite routine that she keeps to. This is a break in that routine. Weird hour, still in her fluffy pink pajamas, she's sitting in the dining area with a cup of some godawful, bright pink concoction steaming in her hand. She also looks exhausted.

Not drinking it. Alternating between staring in the middle distance and sketching something on a small tablet.

Officer Snuggles is at her feet, and as much as a fox can look worried, he does.]

hey everyone so

what does it mean when you can remember a dream i never remember my dreams but i kind of had one i did

are dreams always weird and bad

and waking up feeling like you've been screaming is normal right cause that happens a lot but i never remembered why til now

do you dream about places you've never been or seen or stuff like that how does it work

or gets shoved into your head when it doesn't belong there too, i guess

does it mean anything if you dream about a place you've never been cause it was this really pretty green place and i've seen pictures of what my planet was like before the terraforming fell apart and it never looked like that so i didn't like forget or something

i haven't even been here a month i have no idea

but we get stuff shoved in our heads from day 1 here right? so maybe it's just a thing, maybe that augment is doing something weird

[Natasha's been around Heron a lot. Has been for months now. She sneaks on, leaves presents for Barnes, or messes with him, or sometimes just visits. More and more often now, just visiting. Which is all to say, it's not weird for her to be around at an odd hour, sneaking out of the captain's room to make herself coffee before heading back to Vanquish.

She hesitates only for a moment before she goes to the counter and starts picking through the cupboards.

When she asks her first question, it's over her shoulder.]

that's true it might just be some kind of weird malfunction did you have any weird dreams too?

Waking up feeling like you've been screaming generally means it was a nightmare. A dream that scars you. Dreams are usually weird, but not always bad. I've dreamed before of places I've never been or seen. They're usually a bit more interesting.[There's a pause in his writing as he peers at the other conversations. There's been more than one nightmare tonight? Interesting.] I had one tonight in fact. It wasn't a very nice dream. Sometimes talking out loud about what you saw in the dream helps. Want to share what you saw?

[As he knows the Atroma can send visions, but can the rouge fleet do the same?]

What? Uh.

[Didn't even notice you coming in, Natasha. She looks up from her tablet, startled, then down at the cup.]

It's... um. Pink?

[She hadn't really been thinking about it when she made it.]

[Two files attached, pictures. Sketches she's made on her tablet and filled in with enough color to give a sense of things; Wrath's a really good artist.

Picture #1: surface of a beautiful, green world, verdant and alien. Indistinct stars in the sky. There's a sense of sadness to it, even though it's quite pretty.

Picture #2: same world, obvious from the same landscape shape, but it's dead and grey now, all the plants withered. The air is thick and strange and blue. The sun is an angry red smear at the horizon. And there are shadows, reaching for the viewer.]

You're aware pink is a color and not a flavor, right?

[She says it gently.]

I was going to make myself something, if you'd rather have some coffee. Or you can stick with Pink. Your call.

[didn't give him any of those fun PTSD flashbacks at all no sir]

[Wrath takes a cautious sip of her "Pink" and frowns at it.] I dunno what that even tastes like.

oh that really sucks i'm sorry i don't think i had fire in my dream so maybe that's good it was just like this sad dead world that was also really scary and like i don't know these feelings

It's not entirely uncommon to not remember your dreams.

Not all dreams are weird or bad, those are considered nightmares.

[She has them often enough, since her joining and a little more frequently since calibrations.]

Kind of glad I'm not the only one tonight.

Coffee it is. [She puts a pot on, quiet for a moment as she putters around the kitchen a moment.

When the water is started, she hops onto the counter, sitting with her legs crossed at the heel.]

[Coffee is a nice smell. A normal smell. Helps all the weird dream seem further away. Wrath glances down at her tablet and the rough sketch there, then taps the screen off.

She'd rather think about other things.]

Can I ask you a question?

oh so you had a weird and bad dream tonight too?

[A pause, then a shrug.]

You can ask. I don't promise to answer, though.

[Natasha's always been pretty no-bullshit with her, and hasn't ever gotten offended by blunt questions. That's part of why Wrath likes her so much. Makes her feel more at home. She rests her chin on her hand.]

You're in and out a lot... I think? Are you fucking Winter? [Delivered in a tone of curiosity, nothing more.]

[That startles a laugh out of Natasha. It's not surprising Wrath would ask, and it's not surprising that Heron's crew would catch on. She's discreet, but they haven't been hiding it. Still.]

That's not the question I was expecting.

Oh. What question were you expecting? [She grins.]

Something more serious. [She gestures around them with a smile.] Maybe about whatever's got you in a mood.

But it's a fair question.

I feel like when stuff's all serious, it's better to talk about happy things, you know? And you're my friend and Winter's my best friend, and my friends having happy things is another reason to be happy.

[...that was a lot of happy in there. But that made sense right? Right. Wrath wrinkles her nose.]

Better than weird-ass dream shit, anyway.

[Natasha snorts at her description. Who would have thought she or Barnes would have happy things, least of all with each other?]

Winter and me, we're good. I don't know that we're always happy but we're... real good.

[Which is to say, yes. Yes, they're fucking.]

Good. I was worried about him. [This is very cheery news, in her estimation.] You've got your shit together. [Which is why she doesn't worry about you.

She twirls her stylus idly around her fingers.] Don't think you can be happy like one hundred percent of the time. It's probably bad for your brain and that's just another thing assholes like compliance fuck up. Good is way better.

I did. Took me a minute to realize it wasn't one of my normal nightmares but it was too strange.

[Time for her to Starfleet training to kick in.]
