Grief like knives
Who: Maglor
Broadcast: yes
Action: Huntress
When: Now
One moment, Maglor was kneeling by his brother's side, treating a head injury with his cousin's help. The next moment, there is a hole in the part of his heart that once held his kinsfolk's touch, and Maglor's voice keens, a terrible, inhuman sound, like shards of ice that tear through a soul, grief too deep for words. It echoes through the ship, shaking the walls with his pain before he falls silent.
It is the worst time for it to happen, ships in crisis, folk in disarray. But if anyone finds him, he is unconscious in the corridor with tears on his cheeks. He's also started to look slightly translucent, in the right light.

He curls around him then and starts to sing, doing his best to help, even as a sense of loss crowds his senses.]

It's no less than what Maglor's done for him.]

He's still faintly translucent, but no more than he has been at other times Daeron has found him. ]

He sings of welcome, of trees waving gently in the wind, unbending, and the warmth of summer as fingers brush through dark hair.]
I am here.

[ Maglor leans against him with hollow eyes ]
I couldn't keep them.

Daeron curls an arm around him, lending what strength he has. Just as they had before.]
...You can keep me. I will not leave.

Both of us cursed. [ he agrees, voice dropping to a grieving lilt, not quite song, not quite speech ]
Lost, forgotten, left behind.

Maglor!

And only each other to hold to and remember.

The only ones left. We cannot forget.

I am alright. [ He doesn't sound alright ]
no subject
We won't forget. We are the last and our memory is long.
no subject
We are. [ He sighs and relaxes ] Thank you.

Horseshit. What happened?

How often have you picked up the pieces you've found of me. [It's not really a question.]
no subject
As often as you do it for me. [ Maglor nudges him companionably back. He doesn't have to pretend, with Daeron ]
Will you sing for me again?
no subject
Daeron tugs lightly on a braid and coaxes Maglor into leaning more on him with an arm loosely around him. Neither of them have to pretend. There aren't lies between them when it matters.
Instead of answering with mere words, he obliges. This time his song is of memory of light and life, of dances under starlight and trees.]

Quietly he starts to sing as well, eventually, echoing Daeron's tales with his own, remembering a time before moon and sun ]
Re: Audio
Like hell it's nothing! Just because I'd push my brothers out of an airlock if they were here doesn't mean you three weren't obviously close.

Maglor... I'll come to see you as soon as I can. You'd better be there when I do, understand?
Re: Audio
Daeron is anchoring me.

We need all the good folk we can keep here.

I will do my best.
