Oh, plenty. Too much to count.

[Some good, some bad. There'd been some disappointing experiences with humans, but he knows better than to get into detail about that. Bad enough that it makes Sorey uncomfortable, but Alisha had lived through much of it personally. There's little sense in digging that up. He can dance around it without being super negative, at least.]

I guess the most surprising thing was humans themselves. A number of our family had become disillusioned with the outside world, which is why Elysia was so isolated to begin with. I can't tell you how many times someone told me that humans were dangerous. Excluding Sorey, obviously.

[It's still weird, in retrospect, how contradictory a statement that was. Sorey was right there, so didn't all humans have the potential to be good if they were around seraphim? Then again, he can't blame them for their perspective, either.]

That wasn't the case in Ladylake, or the rest of the world. It wasn't so black and white- seraph good, humans bad. Not just Sorey, but you, Rose and the Sparrowfeathers, Father Bruenor, Sergei... you were kind and complex, you had your own dreams and pride, and you weren't perfect but you weren't bad people at all. And not all the seraphim we met were good, either. I never expected the world to be as complicated as it is, so that was a big surprise.
