[ clothes shopping. ]

[ one look at the kind of clothing offered by the fleet was enough to send loki fleeing for the planet. not that the wares there were much better, but loki can easily adjust and tweak what he needs. there are layers of pants and shirts thrown askew all over the shop, as loki puts on this outfit and checking himself in the mirror. ]

I suppose this is the best one can do.

[ the movie theater ]

[ mortal entertainment. he was passing familiar with it. propping his legs up, he leans back as the movie watching a romantic movie called the notepad and watching as the man continues to manipulate his true love even though she continually rebuffs him. and people complain about loki's machinations. if anyone is sitting nearby, he also casually flicks popcorn into their hair. he's just an asshole. ]

[ knifeplay. ]

[ after stocking up on outfits, loki had to go look for knives. his current ones were missing and left loki feeling particularly vulnerable, even if he has a variety of abilities to keep himself safe. nothing quite beats having a weapon, after all. so he raids any place that sells weapons — even kitchens to find a decent sharp edge he could use as a dagger. with a frown, he tosses the kitchen knife carelessly. ]

Useless. They have no sense of workmanship.

[ loki can be found at the library, checking out any records or messing with the rides at the amusement park. if you got stuck, he didn't do it. ]

SHARP THINGS!

It's a bad planet for any of the good stuff.

[Out of seemingly nowhere, a short, silver haired teenager walks into the room without looking in his direction. She opens a drawer to look around, eventually pulling out a rolling pin and sticking it in her bag.]

[ He blinks, eyeing her. ]

So I've noticed. If it is a trap, you'd think they'd offer more bait.

Or any at all.

[Fie still doesn't look at him, instead picking out a pair of tongs, eyeing them, and putting them back. Loki may notice the hoodie she's wearing is definitely too big to be her size.

Closing the drawer, she moves on to the next.]

If anything, you might find a blunt object in the amusement park.

Blunt objects are easy enough to find.

[ But Loki's fighting style is quick and efficient. Blunt instruments can't give him that edge. ]

[Jarvis is currently in the process of scouting for decent clothing himself, and when he walks into the warzone of clothing in this particular store, he can't help but give that dry, discontented British Stare (tm). He has a pair of black slacks hanging neatly over one arm, standing stiffly as a butler tends to.]

... The jean pants seem a bit distracted from the overall vision.

[Oops, don't mind him, he's just commentating by instinct.]

[ Loki casts a critical eye on them before glancing at Jarvis. ]

What would you recommend then?

[Oh, well! In that case he moves to offer some black pants from the hanger, holding it up to him with the aura of someone who does this far too often to someone else.]

Black is the way to go, especially with the other colors you've got here.

They're more professional than jean, but most importantly — they make your legs 'look swell'.

[ It hasn’t escaped Carl’s notice that this planet is practically devoid of anything dangerous that could be used as self-defense in case an emergency arises. Which isn’t suspicious at all, Atroma!! They’ve been finding all sorts of oddities since they landed in this void of everything town, and he still expects the other shoe to drop. Mostly in the form of a hoard of walkers, but that’s just experience from home talking.

He stumbles upon Loki as he’s searching about on his own, and that one eyebrow rises. ]

I didn’t know kitchen knives were a source of good craftsmanship.

Are they not?

[ On Asgard, all knives had decent craftmanship. That's what he gets for assuming the rest of the universe would have that same level of expertise. He puts one away with a frown. ]

At any rate, I only need them for a while until I can forge my own.

It's probably more for vegetable chopping than actual stabbing.

[ Carl tilts his head, considering Loki for a moment. He reaches down and pulls his own knife from its holster on his leg and offers it. ]

Until you can make your own? I have a spare on the ship. [ God of Mischief or not, he's willing to have a little faith. ]

Something tells me their customers don't complain too much.

[Probably because there aren't any. He smiles as he leans against the wall. While this place does worry him, he isn't too troubled by weapons. His own dagger returned to him and Rowan gave him a rather nice one to add to his belt. He's starting his own collection it would seem.]

But you know, if we go up against giant vegetables it seems you have us covered.

[ With a light quip. ]

They would not see me coming.

[ Still, it's frustrating. Loki has always had his knives. Kept in secret places only his magic could reach, they were his closest ally. He lacked the brute strength Thor and the other Asgardians had. It annoyed him, the sense of weakness that clung so close right now. ]

I suppose I should not be surprised that there is nothing of worth here.

[Felix has a secret fondness for melodramatic nonsense like this, thanks in part to Phoebe exposing him to daytime television back in Paradisa. That, and in some ways it wasn't all that different from some of plays he'd been to over the years.

Quietly ensconced in his seat, he doesn't notice, at first, that there's popcorn in his hair until he shifts, spilling a few buttery kernels over his shoulder. At which point he turns to glare over his shoulder at the responsible party]

[ A magic-user. Loki can sense him easily. He's not particularly deterred from being an asshole though as he munches on the remainder of his popcorn.

Shiny sharp objects

[While Lance is fairly certain that the Huntress already has more than her fair share of sharp pointy objects courtesy of a certain mulleted red paladin, he still finds himself absently perusing a weapons store planetside. Maybe there's a nice decorative blade he can get Keith as a present? Yeah, that'd be awesome. Or some cool kind of gun he himself could practice with. Something manual, perhaps...

He's completely innocently checking out one of the display cases when a knife lodges itself into the wood approximately three inches away from Lance's head. He lets out a very dignified, very manly squeak before spinning around.]

What the quiznak--watch where you're throwing things!

Yeah, well I was a few inches away from getting my poor head impaled! That usually, you know, leads to death, and I'm preeeeeetty good on keeping myself as far from that as I can.
