[He hums agreement, too tongue-tied over the fact that she's got her arm in his and they're on a date to do anything more than grin stupidly all the way to the tilt-a-whirl.]

I saw a shooter I wanna try. Oh, and the one with darts and balloons!

[They reach the ride with Kaname giggling at his grin and giving his arm a little squeeze before letting go.]

I'll be watching to see how you do. [Moving into the seat, she slides over to make room for him.]

Are you okay if we go on one more ride before the games? There's one I really want to do.

Get ready to be impressed! I'm a pro at shooters! [Something he always had a knack for. Natural talent. Yeah.

He scoots into the seat and secures the little door, enclosing them in the ride. That seems to be the signal for it to fire up.]

Yeah, of course. Whatever you want.

I'll look forward to it, if you're as good as you say you are. [Of course she's teasing him. She's happy he's excited to show off. As the ride gets going, Kaname talks a little louder so he can still hear her.]

Don't say that too often, I might take advantage of it!

[She can't help but laugh at the end of her statement as the car they're in swings around, sliding her to bump against him in the seat.]

I hope I am! [He's fairly confident in his skills. He wasn't super with a real gun in the beginning, but there was a reason he'd been given ranged weapons after his small stint in training. He was good at pointing, aiming, and getting his shot.]

I don't mind.

[His best friend is a prince. And while Noct is mostly good about not being selfish and pushy about getting what he wants, there is a sense of deferment. Prom's just happy if his friends are happy, and willing to take every step to ensure they are.

These kind of rides are good for one thing - squishing people together. Almost painfully so. Maybe if he puts his arm around her shoulder it'll be more comfortable?]

[Gripping the bar in front of them, she lets out another laugh. His arm around her shoulders isn't expected, but it's definitely welcome, if her smile is anything to go by. Hint: it is.

The next sharp whirl around has them moving in the other direction, where his hold on her keeps the pair pretty stable. Kaname tries to point out an attraction with a laugh, unable to get a good read on it as they're whipped around.]

I guess the next one'll have to be a surprise!

[And he tries to see what she's pointing at, but the ride swings them around too quickly, and all he really catches are blurs.]

Surprises are fun, as long as they don't get you killed.

[Even with just the two of them, the ride is over too quickly. He thinks that's kind of silly - it's not like there's a queue of people waiting to get on. The automation must be set on a timer. On the other hand, there's still lots to see and do.]

Agreed.

[Once the ride's over, and they're both out and on solid ground again, Kaname looks around quickly before spotting a ride actually pretty close by. She doesn't indicate which it is.]

Got it. It's just over this way. [Her gaze falls on Prompto, and her smile softens.] It'll be easier to talk, too.

[The singer takes a few steps in the indicated direction, and she idly holds out her hand.]

[Normally he'd be bouncing all over the place, but ... is that a hand? For holding? Holding hands?? He's got this! Just touch her hand with his hand and hope he's not clammy.]

So not the roller coaster, then.

Not the roller coaster. We can do that later if you want to, though. I'm happy if you're happy.

[When he takes her hand, Kaname squeezes it, leading him a little ways from the tilt-a-whirl. Very soon, they stop in front of the ferris wheel, and she turns with a grin.]

This one.

["I'm happy if you're happy." He's pretty sure that's his line. He grins and lets her lead the way to the next attraction.

It looks a lot bigger up close. But it's not like he's never seen one before. He knows they move fairly slow, usually stopping a ton to switch out passengers. As its just the two of them, however, it will probably just send them around. No getting lodged at the top, right? He could grab some good photos!]

Cool. Alright.

[He lets her take a seat first.]

[Sliding into the seat, she helps fasten the safety bar in front of them when he joins her. Once they're settled, the ride slowly moves them forward and upward. Kaname leans against him.]

Thanks for taking me here, I'm having fun.

Yeah... Me, too.

[This is nice. For about half a minute, until they really start climbing. He takes a deep breath and tells himself not to tense up (easier said than done). He fumbles for his camera pocketed in his jacket pocket to snap up some pictures. It's a perfect opportunity, and a good distraction. But first, he turns it on the pair of them.]

Smile!

Good.

[While he's calming himself, Kaname's looking at their surroundings, thoroughly enjoying the view, occasionally pointing at different objects as they round the top on their first go around.

When Prompto tells her to smile, he catches her off guard, ending up with a picture of Kaname with a befuddled expression once he clicks to take the shot.]

Hey, that wasn't fair. [Despite that, she's trying not to smile.] Next time, you've gotta warn me.

I did warn you!

[He said to smile! It's a good picture, even if she's making a funny face. But they can try again later.

They're headed back down, and he thinks this should be the end of this ride, until it skims past the bottom and starts rotating them upward again.]

Oh... I guess we're going again. S'cool.

Hm? Yeah, they usually go around a couple times. Have you never been o--

[They're almost at the top, not enough to see the seats below them, when the rides stops with a jerking motion. Kaname reaches out to grab his arm with one hand to steady herself. Catching her breath is quick work, and she looks over to him.]

That startled me. You okay?

Uh... Uh-huh.

[The sudden stop has their seat rocking for a moment. It's not a good feeling.]

Think someone else is getting on?

[There's no way to check without leaning over the side to peer down. The question seems to answer itself the longer they sit there, however.]

I think it would've been a smoother stop if they were...

[She's not super worried, but Kaname does try to angle to see behind them and down at the bottom. It's an uncomfortable position, so after a moment, she turns forward again, shaking her head.]

I don't see any movement. We might be stuck for now.

[Ahhh. Don't do that! He keeps a hand on her while she does the super-dangerous act of looking down.]

Oh. Okay. That's cool. Stuck on a Ferris wheel. Should have known you can't trust a fully automated theme park.

[There's a small chuckle of agreement to his last statement.] Not completely, no. At least it's not the roller coaster, right?

[Kaname looks to Prompto, then sees his face. Her tone immediately changes to one of concern.]

Are you sure you're all right...?

[He tries to laugh at the roller coaster comment. It comes out a bit breathless and reedy. Not his best work.

He nods his head quickly, hands tapping a nonsense rhythm on the bar in front of them.] Yeah. Yep. I'm good. Fine. Perfect. It's all good.

[That's most definitely a lie if she's ever heard one. Hesitating at first, she eventually slides closer to him and places her hand over one of his, giving it a light squeeze to get his attention.]

You don't have to tell me anything if you're not comfortable with it, okay? [Even though she hopes that's not the case.] Just tell me what I can do to help.

[Wow, rude. His delivery was totally convincing.]

It's not a big deal. It's fine! [He pauses, considers. The date's already hit one big snag. It couldn't possibly be made worse by just telling the truth.] Just not a big fan of heights, is all.

[It was okay when they were in motion. Hell, he'd been skydiving with Keith, which was terrifying, but it was like, controlled, right? He'd scooted across thin, high ledges, but there was an end in sight, a way out. Here, they're just sitting in a basket with no way off or down, and that feels very wrong.]

[Oh. Her face falls a little, and she can't help feeling sort of guilty, even if she knows there's no real reason for her to. She gives an apologetic smile.]

I'm sorry. I wouldn't have suggested this if I'd known.

[Despite this, she still wants to try and have a good time. Kaname moves away to give him space, but still keeps her hand on his.]

Do you want to try for another picture?

[He waves a hand, warding off her apology. He didn't want her to feel bad about this. If it was that big a deal, he wouldn't have agreed to getting on the ride in the first place. (Also, he didn't want to look like a coward in front of the girl he had a crush on. Priorities.)] Nah. Don't worry about it. It was fun until we stopped moving.

[He grins at the suggestion, swiftly bringing his camera out in front of them. Maybe she's just trying to distract him, but it works.]
