The Huntress

[To those that live on the Huntress, you either see the seraph or you don't. Hearing them, however, is something that everyone does. And Edna, well, sometimes you feel her presence too. Since she can make herself known, obnoxiously, when she wants.

However, if one looks in her bedroom, it looks untouched. As does her classroom that she's spent a while putting together once the Atroma decided to gift it to her. Looking closer, there are tiny, bare feet under the desk and the sound of some smothered sniffling. If you're quiet, you might even hear a small, scared voice call out.]

Eizen? Where are you?

[Yes, folks, Edna's been tinified. Aren't you lucky?]

The Red Fish

[After some finagling, Edna has found her way onto the Red Fish from the Huntress and she's a little distressed. While the other ship was certainly not her home, it had plenty of plant life and seraph that made it feel sort of home-like.

The Red Fish, however, has the oppressive feeling of malevolence that she's not at all okay with. But she was told her brother is here somewhere. Even if the humans here don't have any resonance to see her, maybe they'll be able to hear her and know who Eizen is.

She goes over to the nearest person and yanks on their clothes to get their attention.]

Hey, have you seen Eizen?

Iskaulit

[Mab's Sceptre is were she spends a great deal of her time. It feels like her and Eizen. There are some other seraph's artes signatures as well, but that just adds to the relaxed feeling it gives her. They aren't alone, which is great. Being alone is awful.

Besides there are funny lizards of many colors (one of them is missing a tail) and fuzzy slugs that make her feel good when she touches them. There's a stream and plants and it's nice. All that's missing is the feel of a real sun. If she ignores the windows that look out into the vast nothingness.

After some time at the mountain, she decides to explore some more. It's a lot bigger than Rayfalke, or maybe it just feels that way. There's so much to look at.

She follows her nose to what looks like a human place that has sweets and food. The sign says 'The Melting Pot' but she doesn't see a pot anywhere in sight. But things sure do smell good.]

[ He hears the voice before he sees her and all Zaveid can think is Aw, shit.

Looks like Eizen's gonna have a real shitty month.

Stepping out of his room, considering locking the door behind him to keep it safe, he sighs and crosses his arms. ]

Hey, kiddo. He's not on this ship.

[Edna peeks from under the desk and looks up and Zaveid.

He's another malak, but he's not from Rayfalke. He feels too different.]

You know my brother?

Sure I do. Big guy, blonde, kinda grumpy but damn strong? [ He shrugs his shoulders. ] We're friends.

[brothersboots]

Hm.

[That's definitely what her brother is like, but then again, she and Eizen weren't the only malak to be born from the earthpulse in that area.]

Prove it.

[Even unsure of where she is, she wasn't born yesterday.]

[ Aww, jeez, c'mon... ]

[That... is definitely Eizen's true name. That's not information he'd just hand out to anyone, considering how much power it would give someone over him.

And yet, she still isn't ready to trust him.]

Why haven't I ever met you then?

[If he'd only seen Edna, Mikleo would have to wonder which version of a regression it was- with or without the present memories. He's witnessed both, after all. Hearing her quiet, frightened call, however, is cause enough for him to know what's going on. When he opens her door and peers in, spotting the little feet half-hidden away, that only cements it.

Damn. As small as he'd been, and just as frightened, it seems. He crouches down in the doorway, not coming any closer.]

Hey... are you okay?

[When Sorey feels his connection to Edna vanish he starts, a hand nearly knocking over the altar in the Interfaith Center when he grabs onto it to steady himself. He grabs for his comm, scrolls through the contacts-

She's still there.

Sorey sighs, hanging his head and clutching his comm to his chest. Still here. She's still here. So...maybe something happened, something like what happened to Mikleo? Zaveid had gotten younger and retained their connection, but for Mikleo it had vanished. Maybe it just depends on Atroma?

Sorey quickly fires off a message to Mikleo, sitting back on his heels to wait, drumming his fingers nervously on his knee until he gets the confirmation.

Okay. Good. He'll wait to seek her out; being in malevolence like what's in the Fleet probably isn't good for her, but if she can spend time in his domain then she should be all right. He'll find her later, if she hasn't already wandered over to the Iskaulit, but...introducing himself might be a bad idea. She might be afraid of humans, too. Hopefully she'll feel his domain and think he's some kind of seraph instead.]

Because Eizen is protective of his baby sister?

[ Understatement. ]

Maybe he was keeping me to himself.

[ The voice that Alisha hears is almost all-too-familiar, yet it's not at the same time. That's what causes her to turn. She'd simply come here while visiting to grab something to eat before heading back to her ship, but...

It seems like returning is postponed for now. Her eyes widen, and she can't help but ask. ]

... Lady Edna?

[ Of course, she's familiar enough to the idea of people suddenly changing now. But... this is the first time she's seen one of her comrades change so drastically

(And really, even if it wasn't someone she knew, she wouldn't just be able to leave a child alone to fend for themselves). ]

[She narrows her eyes at him. Eizen does seem to be more than a little protective of her. As if she isn't a malak with her own artes should anyone try to hurt her. Although, it is convenient to hide behind her much larger brother for defense.]

I doubt that.

[Hey, so, that attitude? It's all her.]

Where's Eizen?

[airily]

[ He puts a hand over his chest, looking wounded. ]

So young and already breaking my heart...

[ But he opens one eye. ]

He's on another ship, but he's here. Promise.

[Hey, she doesn't want anyone to see her, so the desk is nice. She can't help that there are other malakim on the ship. She can tell, but she doesn't recognize them, so she's just going to stay under the desk until he makes a point to look at and speak to her.]

This isn't my mountain.

[brothersboots]

[The Iskaulit is weird. There's lots of things there that are obviously built by and for humans, but there are places where they've brought nature indoors without any use of seraphic artes. ANd it's all so darn big. How's she supposed to be able to really do anything if she can't see over walls and bars!

Rude. So rude.

But it's not all bad. There's a mountain that feels like her, Eizen, that water malak and another that she doesn't know. it Feels more like home than anything she's seen so far, even when she's with her brother.

As she walks down the halls, her parasol drags behind her clomping steps. There's a really, really powerful domain coming from somewhere and she's determined to find out what sort of malak can pack that sort of power.

She stops in the door way of some strange room and sees a boy.]

What sort of malak are you?

[Edna's head turns around to look at the girl and she pulls away from the counter where she'd been looking over the food. She might not need it, but she likes the smell and the taste just like any other malak.]

You can see me?

[She doesn't know this girl, but she doesn't really know anyone here either, so that's not so surprising at this point. All these humans though.]

Who are you?

[brothersboots]

[She is not impressed.]

You sound used to it.

[At least she's not trying to hurt his feelings.]

This doesn't look like any ship I've seen before.

[Well, that doubly cements it- she doesn't remember at all. His crouch turns into a kneel, and he shuffles forward a little, trying to catch her eye.]

No, it isn't. I woke up away from my mountain as well, though it's been a long time since then.

[She's so tiny like this... how surreal.]

[One day she'd like to thank whoever set up the fox park for its bonus magical recharge, but she thinks they're long gone. Katie is there as a human today, feeding the foxes scraps she picked up from Jarvis' restaurant. It's only fair, if she's going to eat there too, right?

If she feeds the foxes first, maybe they'll let her have her beef sandwich and cake in piece.]

[There she is.

Sorey can feel as she makes her slow but determined way over to him. She wanders for a bit, stopping by the mountain, by Mikleo's pool. She dawdles near the restaurants and the forests, but she does eventually come and when she does, Sorey makes sure to turn so that he's kneeling on the cushion facing the doorway, instead of the altar.]

...I'm not a malak. I'm a human. [She doesn't look too afraid...is that because she thinks he's a malak, or because that's just how Edna's always been? ...okay, maybe he's more nervous than he thought.]

Sure, I guess. All beautiful ladies are heartbreakers!

[ Ahaha... ]

This isn't a ship for going on water. We're in space.

[humene]

[Eleanor is winding down after a training session on the Iskaulit, when she runs into the last person she expects. Or rather, the person she expects in the last way she expects.]

Edna!?

[She'd seen Zaveid lose time with a glitch before, but that hadn't been anything like this. She needed to find Eizen, and fast.]

I bet you're single.

[Isn't that a sweet thing to say. Oh, Edna.]

Why are we in space? Is there even anything out here? And how are we here? Where's our planet?

[brothersboots]

[She looks up at him over the top of her knees, watching him carefully as he approaches her.]

You don't look like an Earth malak. I've never seen you before.

[And you were this tiny before too, Mikleo. Isn't life here grand?]

Where are we?

[brothersboots]

[She keeps staring at him from the doorway before she comes over and pokes him in the knee with her umbrella. There's none of the usual force behind it because she has no desire to hurt him. Just to make sure he's real.]

You don't feel like a human. Why do you have a domain?

[brothersboots]

[Edna stops at the park, wondering at the feeling of strange artes. They don't feel like anything from home and they certainly are different from those on the mountain.

She watches the girl feed the animals. Truth is that she followed her there from the restaurant with the strange menu that didn't make sense to her.]

When you feed them, they just come back.

[Maybe she can hear and see Edna. She's not sure. It's been hit or miss so far.]
