Waystation Mingle Log!
Who: GAME-WIDE MINGLE aka everyone
Broadcast: If you want
Action: The Stations!
When: From 04/05 through the month of April.
[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.
Make your own prompts, set up your own Virtual Realities, etc! For reference, the OOC post with info is over here!]

Ino! I'm sorry, I didn't hear you come in.
no subject
Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt anything ...
[ She glances around. ]
What ... is all this?
no subject
This... this is my home.
no subject
[ She sees that, but -- ]
How did it get in here?
no subject
no subject
[ Nods. She gets that at least ]
It's a lot nicer than ours ...
[ SIGHS ]
no subject
Yes. Well.
We make do, right?
[There's that strained smile again.]
no subject
[ And she's back to looking concerned ]
Is everything ... I mean, you just seem -- upset?
no subject
[She was going to say she's alright, everything's fine, but that would be so blatantly a lie.]
I thought being able to visit familiar surroundings would make me feel ... I don't know, calmer maybe, but it didn't.
no subject
[ She frowns, running her fingers over one of the chairs on the bridge ]
Kinda a punch to the gut when there's no one you know around, huh?
no subject
If I only knew for sure that Atroma was really going to send us all back home... the thought of being trapped here forever, it's ...
[Unbearable.]
no subject
[ Eventually, anyways. But she sounds very sure of herself ]
I get it, though. I haven't actually been home in, like, seven years at this point. Apparently multiverses just love me.
no subject
That's right, Allen mentioned that you and he had been in some place called Paradisa. I could tell he didn't want to go into too much detail about it.
[She curls her feet underneath her and stares at the console on the arm of the Captain's chair, absentmindedly pressing the useless buttons while she's talking.]
Not that I blame him in the slightest. My friend, Jean-Luc, had a similar thing happen to him, though he was not actually pulled into another universe. He was given the memories and experiences of a member of an alien race that has been extinct for centuries, only, from his perspective, he lived all those memories in real time. He rarely talks about the experience.
[Looking back up at Ino.]
I'm so sorry this has happened to you again, Ino. You deserve better.
no subject
[ A little surprised that he brought it up -- but.It does make this conversation less confusing. As Beverly talks, though, she kinda ... puts her hands up ]
Oh, no -- no, it's not -- don't worry about me. The only reason I brought it up is because that almost never happens for so long. Most people are just around for a few months before they get to go back. So you shouldn't worry too much.
no subject
That's easier said than done.
no subject
But I guess, the odds are in your favor?
no subject
[She smiles, more genuine this time around.]
And at least I'm not alone.
no subject
[ She's poking at some kind of control panel now ]
So this is where you work, huh ...
no subject
Well, I'm not always in the captain's chair... yet.
[She uncurls herself of the chair and stands.]
Would you like to see my sickbay?
no subject
[ She's teasing, though, and moves to indicate she'll follow wherever Beverly wants to go ]
no subject
Just remember that not even all ships in my universe look like this. In fact, few of them do. Computer! Transfer location to Sickbay.
[As the program rearranges itself, Beverly looks at Ino and explains:]
The Enterprise has 42 decks and is over 640 meters long. This will save us a little time.
no subject
That's, like -- the size of a skyscraper!
no subject
Ships this size are constructed in space and aren't meant for landing on planets. We have shuttles and transporters for that.
[The sickbay coalesces around them and they find themselves right in Beverly's office, which is a little disconcerting. Nonetheless, Beverly tries to be a cheerful hostess, stepping around behind her desk and spreading her arms out.]
This is where I spend a lot of my time, doing the very unexciting job of paperwork. I much prefer to be in the research lab, though.
no subject
[ Still, she's still kind of awestruck ... She wishes their ships were even two stories ...
Anyways, she's looking around curiously ]
There must be a lot of people living here if it's that big ... so you must be pretty busy, huh?
no subject
[A flicker of sadness returns when she's reminded of Alyssa.]
Here, let me show you the rest of it!
[She leads Ino out of the office and around the corner. A large biobed sits in the middle of the room. Beverly taps a few controls nearby and brings up a glowing stasis field around the bed.]
This is where we do most surgeries. The force field can either serve as a quarantine or keep people in stasis if necessary.
