[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.

Around the Station

[This is Aang's first time at a way station, so he's spending some time exploring in general while looking for ways to find whatever the Caprine needs. He may also be eying the snacks curiously.

And in the courtyard, he zips around with his air scooter. He may or may not crash into some of the fake trees.]

Virtual Reality Dome

[Once Aang finds out that this place can simulate places from home, he does what he can until he manages to get the simulation he was hoping for. It's of the Southern Air Temple, and although the monks generated by the virtual reality are generic ones wom he does not know, he almost does feel at home again.

He'll spend some more time zipping on his air scooter, or trying to talk to the simulations, or just sitting down for a good old-fashioned meditation.]

[Kaneis had been exploring the waystation at a leisurely pace, when Aang on his air scooter zips on pass. It's a near hit, so he jumps back]

Whoa!

[And then he stares because wtf did he just see right now]

Uh-

Sorry! [He says with a laugh as he turns to face the guy he just passed. Huh, another person with red hair! Aang will just circle around him for a little bit.]

Are you alright? [a bald kid's just circling you on a ball of air, no big deal.]

Y-Yeah. I'm fine. [Pretty sure I'm going crazy because I'm seeing a bald monk kid riding on an air ball around me- but I'm fine!!!]

[But no, this is too weird. He just has to ask]

How're you doing that?

This? [He slows down a bit and gives a light-hearted shrug.] This is just some airbending!

VR

[Sokka's taking a break from working on the ships to check this place out. What he finds is Aang and the Southern Air Temple, and it makes a pang in his heart. Of course Aang would choose this, of course he would.

He heaves out a sigh, wandering over to sit on a ledge, looking out over the vast sky, watching the virtual airbenders glide around on the breezes. Half an eye is trained on Aang, though, keeping a quiet watch over him.

He's had a tough time. He needs this. ]

[Aang zips around, pretending to play with the other monks for a while. It helps him feels so alive despite the illusion - despite the heartache that nags at this feeling.

But he does eventually catch note of Sokka out of the corner of his eye. He knows that's definitely no other monk. He actually feels a little embarrassed to be spotted like this, but he offers Sokka a meek wave and steps towards his friend.]

[Sokka returns the wave, deciding not to bring up the feelings Aang must be struggling with until he does so himself. No need to open up old wounds. ]

I forgot how pretty it was here.

[A nostalgic smile crosses Aang's face as he nears friend.]

It's actually a little less pretty than I remember. ...B-but that's okay! I'm glad you like view!

VR Dome

[ Tay just wanted to pull up some monsters to keep in practice with her aim, and now she's... fuck, she's not even sure where, trying to find her way back out.

Confused angel is confused. ]

What the hell...?

[Aang smiles as he sees the newcomer arrive, turning away from the nearby monks to greet her.]

Hey there! How's it going?

Uh.

[ Okay, small tattooed kid talking to her. He's probably the real person? Probably? ]

Fine. I was just trying to get to some free space?

[ She looks around again ]

What's with everyone wearing the same dress thing?

[Aang just laughs at her question.]

Well this is the freest space you can find, we're all about freedom here! And these are robes... It's just what we monks wear!

[There Axel was, just minding his own business, investigating the courtyard, when something crashed right into him and sent him tumbling arse over kettle. Hey, he's not quite as tall as the fake trees! Sprawled out on the ground, he rubs his head and manages to sit up, trying to figure out what just happened.]

Anybody get the license plate on that truck...?

It's perfectly fine!

[Aang had tumbled over and landed right beside Axel. He groans with a soft laugh as he gracefully hops to his feet and dusts himself off.]

Sorry! Sorry, I lost control a little bit... [But hey, doesn't this guy seem familiar...]

[He shakes his head, sure something just rattled loose in there, and then looks up as the kid hops to his feet and dusts himself off. He recognizes him right away.]

Oh, hey, you're the kid with the ink. [He gestures to his head, then smiles a bit, getting to his feet and brushing off his backside.] Man, for a little guy you sure pack a punch. Were you running full tilt? You came outta nowhere.

That's me alright! [Now he just rubs at his head sheepishly.] I was going really fast... sorry, I just saw how wide-open this area looked and things got out of control!

[Truthfully, he's had far too much experience with virtual rooms to be entirely comfortable in them-- but after the first day, hearing everyone talk about recreating home, Steven can't resist. He slips in late in the afternoon, nervous and ready to run out should things go wrong--

--ah, but he's not alone. The temple into which he's stepped isn't his, but it's familiar enough, and that alone gets Steven to smile.]

Oh, wow.

[Aang is meditating towards the back, and so Steven goes to sit across from him, waiting patiently.]

[He's meditating alright. But even in this environment, it's hard to feel at peace. In fact, closing his eyes to meditate just seems to cement that what's around him isn't even real.

He isn't sitting in the Air Temple. He's sitting on the floor of a dome.

So, slowly he opens his eyes... and sees someone sitting across from him.

Before recognition kicks in, shock does.]

AH!

[realhumanbeing]

[With a yelp he scrambles back-- but magic reacts before his thoughts do, and with a pop a large pink bubble surrounds him.]

Sorry! Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you--

[The panic is quickly fading, and now he looks guilty.]

Steven? I... I'm sorry! I shouldn't have... Are you alright?

[invigorates]

[ lioriley finds aangs simulation by accident (that seems to be a common trend with her), but when she steps through the threshold and into the recreated air temple, she can't will herself to leave immediately - even if she thinks she might be intruding on someone.

instead the elf glances around, wide-eyed and awestruck by the beauty of it. she glances over the edge to see who far up they are, turns back around just in time for aang to shoot by her on his air-scooter. ]

Ah!

Sorry! [He shouts out once he realizes he almost hit someone.

But then it clicks in his head that he almost hit someone. So he doubles back and hovers near the new person, waving at her in greeting.]

Umm... Hi!

[invigorates]

[ it takes her a second or two to actually register what just happened. when she does, she finds herself staring. ]

Hello. [ you are a young, hovering boy with blue tattoos on your head. that is interesting. ] Is this a piece of your world? [ she motions with her hand to the temple. that seems to be the common theme here. ]

[She looks interesting in her own right! So Aang greets her with a smile.]
