[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.

[Fenris has never gone South far enough to reach Ferelden, so he doesn't recognise the landscape. Still, he'll take this over Dorian's reconstruction of Tevinter any day. He leaves Cullen alone for a while, simply watching the water lapping against the dock. When he does eventually speak, he's quiet. ]

This is a peaceful place. Where is it?

[Cullen turns, not startled, merely surprised. He's not spoken to Fenris much outside of a video since their little disagreement, but he's fine with carrying on as usual. Well, the new usual.]

It's near Honnleath. Are you familiar? [Probably not.]

[Fenris is completely okay with not mentioning that ever again. Jove probably wouldn't want him flipping out and trying to punch Cullen's face off. ]

...That's Ferelden, isn't it? [He shakes his head. ] No, I never came this far South.

[Maybe if he hadn't have stayed in Kirkwall, he would have inevitably moved down here to escape his perusers. ]

It's nowhere near as bad as the rumours.

[He scoffs.]

We don't sleep on the floors with the dogs. For the record.

Sometimes, Hawke slept on the floor with his dog.

[But Hawke is kinda weird anyway, and probably not the best example of Ferelden stock.]

But no. I expected most of it was just that, rumour. [After a quiet moment. ] It is a nice place.

Thank you. [For admitting it.] I came here to escape my siblings, when they were louder than usual.

Hmmm.

[He has no experiences of his own to compare to this. He has no idea what sort of relationship he and Varania had. Sometimes, he truly wishes he did. ]

It is a fair choice for a quiet place. I can't imagine many came here. It seems a good distance from settlements.

[There's no emotion here, his usual analytical think-through on such things. But at least he's trying, perhaps he feels a little better about talking to Cullen again.]

They still managed to track me down.

[He's fine with being a little more open, at least about this place--he did make it in a public room, after all.]

Have you used the machine to recreate a place?

Ah. So the peace was short lived?

[He shrugs, not looking especially upset, more matter of fact, than anything.]

No. Places aren't important to me. I've never had anywhere to truly call home.

[Which is true. His broken little Kirkwall family, they were his home, not the city herself. ]

Most of the time.

[Then, he minded. Now? He misses them, more often than not.]

Was Kirkwall not home to you?

Such is family, I would imagine.

[He gives a lanky-shouldered shrug. ]

It was a place, a free place, but it was not home. I have never set down roots anywhere.

A shame you didn't make your way to Skyhold. It's become home for many.

[And it's not like they don't have the room for broody elves.]

Hmm. Jove made a rendition of it here. [He gestures around them, he means the VR dome. ]

It seems a good starting point, to try and defend Thedas.

We had a smaller place, before. Haven. It fell thanks to Corypheus.

[Fenris pulls a face at the darkspawn's name. He's still really, really not happy that thing didn't stay dead. Because he was pretty certain they made it super dead. ]

I wish I could say I'm surprised. Still, I am sorry you lost your safehouse. They are few and far between.

That doesn't surprise me. She seems an exceptionally capable leader.

[Hawke would have got you all killed. Be so glad Cassandra didn't find him. Hawke is a good leader, but of a whole Inqusition? Not as much. ]

She is. The Inquisition couldn't be in better hands.

I am sure she finds comfort with you all being beside her. She speaks highly of all of you.

[He chuckles... a little awkwardly.]

[Cullen he can SEE what is happening.At least he's not going to call attention to the fact. ]

Hmm. She has a lot of respect for you.

[He could mean the collective you or the singular 'you who is Cullen'. His tone doesn't seem to suggest either way.]

She's done a lot for us, without complaint. The least we can do is make her proud.

[That gets an amused noise from him. Sure, Cullen, suuure. ]

At the very least.
