[Sam is in the middle of a particularly gruesome kill when things go wrong - not in reality, but in his head. And then like a debris-filled gust of gale force winds he's hit with memories that had been taken from him prior: torture, grueling and ugly and bloody at the hands of the devil. At first he just assumes he's gone crazy again somehow (but there's no wall to break anymore, so why?). But then the memory of Katie in her calibration room makes his blood run cold.
He's not an idiot.
Not knowing the first place to even look, he starts a search of any place on the waystation he hasn't been, heart beating wildly from both terrible memories and terrible implications. Can't be, can't be, Katie wouldn't get herself killed like that - but then, she had died in Adstringendum before, so-
Either way, he's not gonna stop until he finds her, someone, anyone who knows where she is.
Or until he stumbles across a body; it'll be more real then, less stoic battle mode.]
