Don't Dead, Open Inside || Action
Who: Carl Grimes, a bunch of zombies, and you
Broadcast: kinda?
Action: Waystation
When: Right now
(( ooc: This is a blanket content warning for blood/gore/death. So! There are zombies ahead and you’ve found yourself on the waystation! You have two options: evacuate, or fight them off. Things of note to remember: Being bitten or scratched are the easiest ways for infection. We don’t suggest being eaten. Magic will be hit or miss depending on player preference/discretion. Characters who become zombies will be treated as in-character deaths. Standard rules apply! The event will last a total of 24 hours. Have fun, and enjoy all the undead things. If there are any questions or anything at all, feel free to pm this journal or hit me up at
skorozima. ))
[ The Fleet has been floating along its predetermined path for the past few days, getting further and further away from the Yadrolla System and toward unknown territory. Along the way, those oh-so convenient waystations continue to pop up at their usual intervals. Identical in every way to every other, boring waystation. Neat, right? There are even some of those familiar orange-skinned aliens and some human travelers milling about and generally minding their own business. It’s a good place to stretch your legs, get sodas of questionable flavor, and take those nifty new pets for a walk!
Interrupting the general peace of the waystation, a shrill siren starts, and a robotic voice comes over the intercom as well as all communication devices on the station and surrounding spacecraft, repeating a monotone message. ]
ATTENTION. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. LOCKDOWN IMMINENT. ATTENTION. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. CALMLY EVACUATE USING THE NEAREST EXIT. LOCKDOWN IMMINENT..
[ Soon, it becomes apparent to those on the waystation what the emergency is. A gaggle? A murder??? Just.. a lot of undead. They’re not in any particular hurry, shambling and stumbling along.. until they spot what looks like some good eats. That seems to get them excited, arms stretching forward, teeth gnashing, and more growling than any sort of verbal mishmash meant to be words.THEY’RE NOT A WORDY PEOPLE, OKAY?
For those looking to escape, it’s quite easy to outrun them unless you’re not paying attention to your surroundings. Corners can be tough! Just don’t get bit or scratched and all is well, except for their incessant attempts at making you a snack. For those who haven’t come across them before, or have run into some variation of them in another world, they’re resilient up to the point of losing their head or the brain being destroyed. Limbs being broken or missing don’t seem to slow them down, just send them a little off-balance.
All they know is attack and eat.
For those of the fleet still on their ships, they gravitate around the waystation, seemingly not wanting to go anywhere. There is a short window of time from the emergency alert to the entire waystation going on lockdown. Those wishing to help evacuate can do so- but they have to be quick!
Once the lockdown is in place, communication ceases with the waystation. All the rest of the fleet can do is sit and wait, and hope for the best. The doors will re-open twenty-four hours later, once it’s clear the situation is handled and they can regroup, count their losses, and wait once again for the perished to rejoin their ranks. ]

Like her mun being afraid of breaking the event.]If we could secure a room I could get unaffected, non fighters in there without needing to open the door, but if anyone's bitten and doesn't say anything about it that will just make those people more vulnerable.
no subject
Scared people do stupid shit.
[ Even now, even at home, and it's not like these people will understand it's already too late, no matter what-- that once you're bit, it's over. ]
no subject
no subject
[ let's not get into the question of how it spreads or what happens if another of them meets an untimely end. No reason to start a panic. ]
Ain't got a better idea.
no subject
[She hears growling sounds approaching.] Looks like they were tired of waiting.

Derek, effortreadiness.]Just so you know? I have the power to be intangible. [She's not sure how useful that is, but if he didn't catch sight of it the first time around maybe hearing it will make seeing it less shocking if it comes up.]
no subject
[ Look, that's just a crazy thing to offhandedly say, in his opinion, but he definitely doesn't have time to process it before the walkers round the corner, stumbling forward in a hungry, disorganized flood.
But he sort of tries to keep an eye on her while they fight, just to see if she really said what he thinks she said. ]

Hope you don't have to.
[ Just, you know, seems kinda weird. Unfortunately for Daryl there are a lot of dead around here... ]
no subject
I promise I don't have girl cooties. [She just hopes she also doesn't get whatever the other people on this station are getting. She backs up to be closer to Daryl as they close in on them.]
no subject
With a vague grunt he steps back to close the distance between them. Safer if the dead can't get between them, behind them.
It's fine... at first... but the dead, they just keep coming. Like there's no end. How many goddamn people were on this station, anyway? ]
no subject
[She stops trying to fight them as she does this so there is lunging and gnashing of teeth as the creatures simply fall through her. It's a startling thing to see but so are the stumbling dead.]
no subject
And then-- he lashes out in front of him, and instead of going into the dead man's head it goes through it, which maybe he should've expected but it's a hell of a lot different to experience it. ]
Holy shit.
no subject
no subject
[ Look, contrary as he might be, he's not going to argue with her right now, because if he suddenly snaps back into reality there's gonna be teeth in him and that's probably the best-case scenario. ]
That don't lead outside, right?
[ Floating intangibly in space would probably not be an improvement. Or tangibly. Either way sounds terrible. ]
no subject
...If it is we won't go all the way out. [Or maybe she wouldn't be able to pass through anyway. She couldn't get out once lock down was on. she didn't try to get out through the void of space though.
Already moving them toward that direction.]
no subject
He lets himself be led, wary but-- well, what other choice have they got? ]
Gonna have to go back, later. Take 'em out.
no subject
Agreed. I don't want someone else stumbling in on them. [Clear of other things, she lets go of Daryl.] Maybe there is an easier way to do it. Doesn't seem like they're very bright.
no subject
[ It's kind of a relief when they're on the other side and she lets him loose. He reaches out to brush his fingers against the wall, just to feel the solidity. ]
Won't stop unless we stop 'em.
no subject
And destroying the brain is the only way?
no subject
He nods at her question. At both parts of what she said, really, because they're really not smart, they just swarm. ]
Anything else just slows 'em down. If you're lucky.
no subject
no subject
[ Don't mind him, that's just a world of possibility he's never considered. And, also, a potent reminder of just how screwed he'd be if something went wrong and he got stuck in a wall. ]
Table or somethin?
no subject
Yeah. [She knows it's a gruesome side of her power. To think it used to be referred to as a defensive-only power.]
Table works. The nice thing is they'll probably gather around me on their own, so I don't have to lug it around far. Let's look.
