Don't Dead, Open Inside || Action

Who: Carl Grimes, a bunch of zombies, and you
Broadcast: kinda?
Action: Waystation
When: Right now

(( ooc: This is a blanket content warning for blood/gore/death. So! There are zombies ahead and you’ve found yourself on the waystation! You have two options: evacuate, or fight them off. Things of note to remember: Being bitten or scratched are the easiest ways for infection. We don’t suggest being eaten. Magic will be hit or miss depending on player preference/discretion. Characters who become zombies will be treated as in-character deaths. Standard rules apply! The event will last a total of 24 hours. Have fun, and enjoy all the undead things. If there are any questions or anything at all, feel free to pm this journal or hit me up at [plurk.com profile] skorozima. ))

[ The Fleet has been floating along its predetermined path for the past few days, getting further and further away from the Yadrolla System and toward unknown territory. Along the way, those oh-so convenient waystations continue to pop up at their usual intervals. Identical in every way to every other, boring waystation. Neat, right? There are even some of those familiar orange-skinned aliens and some human travelers milling about and generally minding their own business. It’s a good place to stretch your legs, get sodas of questionable flavor, and take those nifty new pets for a walk!

Interrupting the general peace of the waystation, a shrill siren starts, and a robotic voice comes over the intercom as well as all communication devices on the station and surrounding spacecraft, repeating a monotone message. ]

ATTENTION. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. LOCKDOWN IMMINENT. ATTENTION. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. CALMLY EVACUATE USING THE NEAREST EXIT. LOCKDOWN IMMINENT..

[ Soon, it becomes apparent to those on the waystation what the emergency is. A gaggle? A murder??? Just.. a lot of undead. They’re not in any particular hurry, shambling and stumbling along.. until they spot what looks like some good eats. That seems to get them excited, arms stretching forward, teeth gnashing, and more growling than any sort of verbal mishmash meant to be words. THEY’RE NOT A WORDY PEOPLE, OKAY?

For those looking to escape, it’s quite easy to outrun them unless you’re not paying attention to your surroundings. Corners can be tough! Just don’t get bit or scratched and all is well, except for their incessant attempts at making you a snack. For those who haven’t come across them before, or have run into some variation of them in another world, they’re resilient up to the point of losing their head or the brain being destroyed. Limbs being broken or missing don’t seem to slow them down, just send them a little off-balance.

All they know is attack and eat.

For those of the fleet still on their ships, they gravitate around the waystation, seemingly not wanting to go anywhere. There is a short window of time from the emergency alert to the entire waystation going on lockdown. Those wishing to help evacuate can do so- but they have to be quick!

Once the lockdown is in place, communication ceases with the waystation. All the rest of the fleet can do is sit and wait, and hope for the best. The doors will re-open twenty-four hours later, once it’s clear the situation is handled and they can regroup, count their losses, and wait once again for the perished to rejoin their ranks. ]
fightorflug: (OH SNAP)

[The middle bit] If you're okay with a late tag-in?

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-06-18 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Unfortunately for Death, prolonged exposure to the Undead and being trapped with the creatures for several hours has left Flug more than a little twitchy. The Scientist rounds the corner with a quick blast from his flame-spewing invention and promptly squeaks when he all but barrels into the robed skeleton.]

"W-wait, you're--?!"

[He'll be impressed by your sword skills in a second, but at the moment he is too torn about whether or not to roast the skeleton as well.]
ultima_mortis: (death powers)

Flug Slys is always welcome to the party! :D (I *love* Villainous.)

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-06-18 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Twitchy is the least of what stress can do to the mind. He barely turns his head before swinging around the skinny scientist in a clean and brutal circle. It's not going to keep back the masses for long, but it'll do for a short reprieve.]

'DEATH' WILL SUFFICE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO THINK OF WHAT TO CALL ME. HAVE THESE THINGS HARMED YOU AT ALL?
fightorflug: (Umm Sir | With Black Hat)

Ah! :'D I'm so happy to hear that! I never read Disc. but I know and love their version of Death

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-06-18 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[Flug lowers his weapon as the voice(?), if it could even be called such, reaches out to his senses in a way average vocal chords never could.]

"Oh."

[He's going to assume they mean that title literally and not as a threat---- Wait-- can Death read his mind too?! The Scientist stares wide eyed suddenly unsure about his close proximity with the entity.]

"N-no. I'm fine."

[Flug gulps. This both is and isn't exactly where he expected to find you, to be honest. Oh well, too late now. Edging closer, to stand his ground with the other fleeter, Flug redirects his flamethrower to the returning horde.]

"I'm Flug. I... I'm a fan of your work??"

[He tries, meekly. Probably not the best time for introductions.]
ultima_mortis: (death waiting)

He's a kind old man who loves cats. Who could ask for more?

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-06-20 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[Death's voice cuts through meager things like the air and physics. It's raw power manifested in a familiar sound. He can't read minds, though. Merely guess at how people think.]

A SCIENTIST, THEN? YOU DON'T LOOK MUCH LIKE AN ASSASSIN.

[Death keeps his sword up and holds an arm out to cover Flug. A zombie snarls at him before the very noise being cut off along with it's head.]

KEEP UP WITH THAT FLAME SHOOTING DEVICE. IT SEEMS TO BE QUITE USEFUL.
fightorflug: (Passive)

Exactly! Clearly he's the immortal who is the better influence! Shh don't tell Black Hat

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-06-24 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
"A-ah yes. Bit of both a-actually? I manufacture the weapons assassins might use. Just as I made this--"

[Although he is mystified by the properties of the blade he sees before him. What he wouldn't give to examine something like that. Death's speech is enough to stir him back into action, however.]

"Y-yes, of course!"

[Apart from a quick burst of flame he sprays in a horizontal stream, Flug is quick to aim for the already wounded corpses, prioritizing instead to bring down the numbers rather than making little impact on the more 'lively' bunch.]

"Provided these follow most rules of the undead, burning their corpses entirely should prevent any chance of further revival."
ultima_mortis: (death smile)

Jefecito is his own kind of perfection! XD

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-06-28 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
EXCELLENT. YOU MIGHT BE MORE PREPARED THAN SOME ON THIS STATION MIGHT BE WITH REGARDS TO THIS UPRISING.

[He can try to have a look at the blade. It would be a very bad idea to try and handle the business end directly, though. Loss of appendages and all that.]

IS THAT WHAT THEY TEACH YOU ON YOUR WORLD? I HAD NO IDEA OTHER WORLDS EXPERIENCED THE UNDEAD IN ANY CAPACITY UNTIL THIS.

[Following the intention, Death aims for dismembering zombies as they come forth. It's much easier to burn what's in smaller pieces, after all.]
fightorflug: (Is bopped)

He IS <3 (God I love the nicknames too) if all goes well, you just may meet him too~

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-07-03 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
“Ah, not so much mine, no … mostly but I do tend to pick up on a few things."

[Falling into a rhythm, Flug's posture grows more and more relaxed, all attention focused in favor of a more efficient performance. He makes swift work of the pieces Death leaves behind for him, stepping forward only when the Reaper indicates to do so, loyally shadowing the other being with ease.]

“The company I work for does business with many worlds. A-as do you, I imagine?”
ultima_mortis: (death smile)

So sorry about the lack of reply! I would love to see Senor Black Hat here.

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-07-10 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
WHAT OTHER ADVICE COMES WITH DEALING WITH THIS KIND OF UNDEAD?

[Death steps forward with the kind of calm one only achieves by never having the biological process to feel fear. He glances behind him at Flug as they advance forward.]

I ONLY WORK ON THE ONE WORLD. THE DISC. YOU'RE THINKING OF AZREAL.
fightorflug: (soooo here's the thing)

(SOON) I'll pass your enthusiasm onto señorón :3 And no worries at all, I'll always gladly tag bac

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-07-12 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Azrael?"

[Oh. So a little less like meeting Santa Clause and more like stumbling upon a member of the hidden Santa Clause faction.]

"No matter, it's still an impressive job. Efficiency doesn't detract from that."

[He will have to keep in mind not all Death may share the same opinions, however.]

"Mm. Let's see. Lack of activity in severed limbs suggest the body still operates by it's central nervous system, as opposed to necromancy or being remotely controlled by an outside force. Destroying the brain or head by any capacity, is still the best route. "

[And reducing the numbers by continuing to torch the remains. Death has the right idea already with all these beheadings!]

"Protecting against infection is also important. C-clean clothing, patching open wounds; the like.
B-but, erm, I-- I can't imagine that being a problem for you, really."

[He means that in the least offensive way possible. ]
ultima_mortis: (death judging)

Gasp! I look forward to seeing him~

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-07-17 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)
THE DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE. HE IS THE SUPERIOR I ANSWER TO ON OCCASION.

[That's not too far off the mark, actually. Death would have a grand time explaining the Hogfather.]

INTERESTING. THIS ILLNESS TAKES OVER THE BODY WITHOUT COMPLETELY DESTROYING IT. SUCH THINGS ARE BEST KEPT ISOLATED. IF WE DO THIS RIGHT, THE ILLNESS WILL END HERE WITH ALL ITS HOSTS.

[Death takes a quick pause to look at his hands.]

NO, I SUPPOSE THAT THIS SORT OF SICKNESS IS NOT ABLE TO SPREAD THROUGH ME. ALL THE MORE REASON TO PROTECT YOU.
fightorflug: (OKAY Okay calm down...)

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-07-20 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh I-I'm perfectly capable of protecting myself-- Sir."

[He quickly adds. It isn't often he hears that sentiment used in a way not intending to wound his pride.]

"So you um.. you are with the fleet, right? You have a designated ship?"
ultima_mortis: (death powers)

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-07-22 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
OF THAT, I AM SURE, BUT MY JOB IS, IN A STRONG SENSE, ABOUT PROTECTING PEOPLE.

[Death tucks his sword away and pulls his scythe from his robe. It's tall and gleaming and therefore equally dangerous. He raises it up slowly.]

THIS MIGHT BE A BIT MORE EFFICIENT. AND YES. I AM THE COOK OF THE CAPRINE.
fightorflug: (I OBJEct...)

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-07-23 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh."

[It certainly is quite the impressive weapon, Flug can't help but take it all in, in its deadly magnificence. Despite the thrill that runs through him at seeing such an intriguing object, his paranoia stays at manageable levels. Death really was quite the entity.]

"The cook? Oh, th-- t-the cook?! You can taste?"

[Wait, no, that sounded rude, didn't it?]

"I-I-I mean-- o-of course you can!-- d-didn't mean to imply-- I-- I'm sure you're a great--"

[Yeah, just gonna hang his head on shame now. Sorry.]

"...I run Engineering on Red Fish."
ultima_mortis: (death judging)

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-08-08 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
I CANNOT, ACTUALLY. I HAVE ALWAYS LACKED THE GLANDS FOR THINGS LIKE EMOTIONS AND TASTE, BUT I LIKE TO THINK THAT I DID WELL TO DEVELOP BOTH. I LIKE CURRY AND I CAN COOK JUST ABOUT ANYTHING WITH PROPER INSTRUCTIONS.

[Down comes the scythe in two devastating sweeps. The very sounds in front of them are cut in twain as are anything trying to get close.]

ENGINEERING... YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN MACHINES, THEN. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO WRAP MY SKULL AROUND HOW THESE SHIPS WORK.
fightorflug: (It's a guarentee!)

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-08-14 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Doing anything with proper instructions, eh?]

"Cooking is something of a Science in itself."

[Flug smiles at that, a pang of nostalgia for cooking with his loveable blue creation back home unexpectedly hitting him at the thought.]

"Without fear of needing to taste test, you'd have to focus on other factors to perfect the outcome. I'm sure that opens the doors for a lot of unique opportunity. That would be something to see."

[And Flug might even live to, at this rate! With as many undead as they've fell, the Scientist could swear an exit was nearly in view. Initially, Flug hadn't known how he was going to get out of this predicament, but teaming up with the Death of a world was hardly at the top of his expectations.]

"Atroma won't let us near anything actually useful when it comes to the ships. Even the repairs I've done, I can't seem to reach anything vital. It's like we're only seeing the bait at the end of the string, we don't have access to the instrument or the hands holding it."
ultima_mortis: (death angry)

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-08-14 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[It might not go exactly the way it should, but Death will absolutely make some extraordinary mistakes.]

I GO VISUALLY IN MOST CIRCUMSTANCE, AND MAKING SURE THE MEASUREMENTS OF ALL INGREDIENTS IS AS EXACT AS POSSIBLE. THUS FAR, I HAVE AVOIDED POISONING ANYONE ON ACCIDENT.

[Death can hear the difference in the number of undead crawling towards them. It's comforting to know he still has some of his combat prowess still in him.]

LIKE WIZARDS ATTEMPTING TO PEEL APART THE LAYERS OF REALITY. THEY CAN ONLY GET SO FAR BEFORE THE GODS SEE FIT TO PUT THEM IN THEIR PLACE OR TURN THEM INTO SOMETHING THAT WON'T HARM ANYONE. ATROMA TRULY DO NOT WANT US TO UNDERSTAND FULLY THE NATURE OF OUR IMPRISONMENT.
fightorflug: (problem solving)

Since we're wrapping up, would you mind if I add you on plurk? I'd be happy to plot more sometime

[personal profile] fightorflug 2018-08-16 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah."

[Flug falters. Well they couldn't agree on everything, the Doctor supposed. Hearing such a.. mortal viewpoint from an entity like Death was interesting but if the Gods really handled things in such a way, Black Hat would have been brought low long ago. Maybe some did try to stop the Eldritch horror once. Black Hat probably dropkicked them into a sun somewhere. He shrugs.]

"Well, l-lucky for us, Atroma can't control that factor."

[It will use up more power to generate a larger flame, but they have things well enough under control to justify it now, don't they? Stepping back to not get in Death's way, Flug cranks the heat as high as it will go and redirects the new improved volley of flames in a different direction, this time to hopefully take a few corpses out on his own rather than just to clean up. Time to end this.]

"As long as people are around, they'll never cease trying to understand more."
ultima_mortis: (death powers)

Absolutely! I'm always down for new friends. :3

[personal profile] ultima_mortis 2018-08-18 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
WE CAN ONLY HOPE. I HAVE VERY LITTLE TO MANIPULATE, BUT MANY OTHERS HERE, MUCH LIKE YOURSELF, ARE VERY ALIVE. IT WOULD DO NO ONE ANY GOOD TO BE TURNED INTO WHAT THEY AREN'T.

[Death could regale Flug on the legends of Cohen the Barbarian at some point. He went down on a mission to try and destroy the very gods of his planet. It was quite impressive.]

THAT IS THE BEST PART OF THE EXISTENCE OF PEOPLE. ONE CANNOT HELP BUT ADMIRE THE WILLINGNESS TO PICK APART EVERYTHING TO LEARN EVERY SECRET.

[Death is careful to step around Flug at all times in the remains of their cleaning up. The blade that cuts through all and the fire that consumes all are a very metal combination.]
