[It's a party for a narcissistic redhead who likes to be reminded she's alive.  Come celebrate!  Alternately, come sneak in and steal the food!  There's a bar set up for drinks drastically lowered to cost-price or to-be-paid-later-tab, a non-alcoholic punch in case of wandering minors (spike it and Nami will end you) and random snacks.

Oh, and a pool.  Which is heated.  Kind of important, that part.

Step right up, I'm reliably informed we'll have Thor with his shirt off, take pictures while you can.]

[LBR Imma tag all of you but just in case! Nami is here to enjoy herself, and as long as there are people here helping her with that she's already having a good time. Contrary to her canon she is not in a one piece.

You can find her leaning on the bar and talking to people, in random states of glee over any presents, or just being generally friendly while kicking back in the pool.]

[he's only here because Nami told him to come. Or something. That's his excuse, and he's deposited his gift with the rest before claiming a corner to sit in with, non-alcoholic drink in hand. Every so often he'll get up and rotate towards the actual bar and shoo off whoever's working so they can go have fun, or make sure no one's spiked the punch, but eventually he does return to his boring wallflower seat.

Call him boring, but look - he has a great seat for the shirtless super guys, ok]

[Hey, guess what: Messer's here!

...wait, Messer's here!?

Yeah, he is. He's mostly wallflowering, as he is wont to do- sitting by the pool in shorts and a light jacket, perusing a book while he keeps an eye on everything like the world's most studious lifeguard- but with some coaxing he'll probably go swimming, maybe even share in a conversation with someone! He may have been dragged here by Kaname, but that doesn't mean he won't put some effort in.

He's also keeping an eye on Q-Lulu while Kaname is otherwise occupied, trying to coax the little mercat into performing tricks at the edge of the pool.]

[Of all the people she's surprised at seeing, Messer'd be near the top of the list. SHE SUSPECTS KANAME BULLYING. Or Kaname wheedling. Is there a difference Whatever the reason, Nami approaches him fairly early on with a glass in hand.]

Here. It's not alcoholic. [She's not gonna presume.] You didn't strike me much as the partying type!

[Hi, I'm prying.]

[Messer glances up, accepting the glass, brows furrowed. He didn't ask for this, but-] Thank you. I'm not, much.

[Although even back home, he had the decency to like, show up for the important stuff. mostly because the parties took place in his own goddamn dorms]

Kaname invited me.

[Oh, Kaname wheedling. She wonders if Kaname invited Prompto, too, in the end. She stows her more trolling comments, she already knows Messer's sense of humour is lacking.]

Well, thank you for coming. Are you much of a swimmer?

Mm- I've done my share. The planet we used as home base was mostly aquatic, so we lived by the beach.

[It's good exercise!]

[After a bit of fun, Kaname walks over to join him, sitting down at the pool's edge with him and Q-Lulu. Her outfit accessories are gone, leaving her in just the swimsuit now, not that it makes a difference as she slides her feet into the water.]

I hope you're not too upset at being here. It is nice to spend time with you outside of our normal things.

[She offers him a smile and a plate of snacks. Be prepared!]

[Not too long after it starts, Kaname shows up (with Messer and Q-Lulu in tow). She places a present on the table before heading off to greet Nami and grab a drink, non-alcoholic, to start. Since she's not getting in the pool right away, the idol has a little fashion added to her suit. For a bit, she's at a table, then a beach chair, then the edge of the pool.

Soon enough, she's in the pool, swimming around with the striped mercat. It's very possible he will swim into someone or get in their way. Kaname's following right behind, issuing apologies if necessary. Mostly, they're just having fun. Splashing or dunking someone isn't being ruled out, either.]

I'm not upset. They're good people.

[There's no hesitation in his answer, and he even accepts one of her snacks, his free hand idly rolling Q-Lulu around in the water. The mercat is very good at playing dead at this point, but that's not what Messer's trying to teach it.]

So are you. But I'm glad.

[The singer holds out a puff pastry looking thing for him to take. No refusal.]

Are you going to swim?

[He... takes it? Because he recognizes that look on her face.]

I was considering it. It's been a while, hasn't it.

[He's gonna need to work off all these pastries if you keep feeding him.]

[Nami's kind of amused, all things considered.]

I tell you you can invite Prompto and you bring me Messer instead. Or are you bringing both?

There are definitely worse places to live. My home world's like that, too-- one continent, hundreds of islands all over, six huge oceans.

The islands are enough to sustain the population's needs? Or are your people aquatic as well?

[Vash is very much not in a suit and has no intention of swimming. No one wants to see that. Instead he's dressed in his trademark red leather jacket that covers his whole body and black gloves. The opposite of what most people would probably wear to a pool party. He's here to drop off his gift to Nami and then watch the mini bar.]

What's your poison? [He's all smiles and he will be keeping an eye on that non-alcoholic punch. No spiking that with Vash the Stampede on duty!]

[Thanks to this thread; Vash will also eventually be wandering around dripping wet. His normally spiky hair drooping down and clinging to his face in random spots. He doesn't care.

Tease him about it and he just might give you a soaking wet hug!

He doesn't seem to mind the fact that he's wet. Happy to chat as if he's bone dry.] Having a good time?

As one of the regular cooks at The Space Bar; Vash is also enjoying getting to play bartender for a bit!] Really, I'm fine! Enjoy yourself!

[Crowley is here in his usual full suit and tie, decidedly not going for a swim. Instead, he's sitting at the bar, enjoying a glass of wine and people watching. Eventually, he does get bored of the relaxed atmosphere and flicks a hand in the direction of the pool.

One of those pathetically fake floating shark fins bobs to the surface, chugging away around the pool. As usual, it's pretty low-grade evil, but it might give someone a fright for two seconds and that's good enough for him. ]

[Until this dumb little mercat swims over and bumps right into the shark fin.]

[but he's avoiding the pool too! And the people! Come on Vash there can't be TWO people avoiding everything]

But I don't want to enjoy myself, you enjoy yourself.

Eh? [And this is where they differ. Vash is happy to work the bar as an excuse to talk to anyone who comes close. Let alone if they order a drink.] It's a party! You should want to enjoy yourself! I'm having a good time here, so no need to worry.

Besides! I forgot to bring my swimsuit.

It has. Try this, it reminds me of one of the crab puffs that stand by my dorm sells. Minus the crab, of course.

[Kaname pops one into her mouth with a smile.]

Times like this, I miss Ragna.

Oh, come on, it's not that bad. [Kaname waves it off with a grin, maybe a tiny bit embarrassed. Maybe.]

Prompto's meeting us here. I just had to make sure Messer showed up.

Ah, one of those types. [A sage sort of nod. Nami pls.] Well, as long as you think he'll enjoy himself. You guys are from the same place, right?

I'm allergic to having fun, I forgot my swimsuit, and I'm both allergic to chlorine and can't swim. Got you beat, buddy.
