Shopping

[Anyone who knows Biffy will know that of course he is going to take advantage of the shopping that is available here. Not only does he need to be shopping for himself but he also needs to be shopping for a certain captain who signed his wardrobe away to him. (Minus pieces of sentimental value naturally.)

That means that he can easily be found in various shops looking through what is available. At times he can be seen with some nicely wrapped packages or with some bags. Never more than a few at a time though. He would never burden himself so utterly with an overflowing load of purchased items. He has far too much pride in his appearance for that obviously.

But this does mean he's quite easy to run into it. Feel free to do so. He's even willing to give recommendations for items for you to purchase.]

Theater

[It's been a little while since he's had the chance to properly go to the theater. This life doesn't appear to really allow for it. A shame really since he's terribly fond of it. He remembers going to plenty of shows years ago when he was but a drone. Supporting the other boys in their artistic endeavors. Even now he smiles fondly at the thought as he stands in the lobby waiting for the show to start.

Everyone knows that you don't go your seat immediately, after all. One must first mingle a little then find your seat just before the curtain rises. That way various fashions can be compared and admired. It's terribly obvious really.

More than likely he's brought someone he knows to the show with him. If not then feel free to run into him. He does love to socialize.]

[Lyall can't even remember the last time he went on such an outing with Biffy, even back home. That was probably before he left and came back. How strange that their first occasion to do this is now miles away from home.

Lyall stays close by Biffy as they mingle in the foyer at first, and of course sits at his side when the show starts.

And might be sititng close enough for them to touch in the dark.]

[Of course his fingers lightly curl around Lyall's when the lights dim. Naturally he's watching the show before them but there is a part of his attention directed towards his mate. Something made clear by how he gently strokes his fingers with his thumb.

They are not ones for public affection. Stolen moments like this are more meaningful because of that. He knows that.]

_{[ One day, Kirk would learn to think before he spoke. As a Captain, one would think that should have been a life skill pounded through him already and second nature, but no, no, it wasn't. Which was how he found himself in situations like having Biffy (and he was sure by some extension Lyall given the other's criticisms of him) in charge of his new wardrobe. His Star Fleet attire and the scarf Fenris had made him were safe, along with a favored leather jacket he had secured with Chekov until the makeover was done with. ]}

All right, so, where do we start?

_{[ He was dressed in his version of casual - jeans, a heather gray v-neck shirt, the black leather team jacket he had gotten from their last planet, and his uniform boots. What? They were comfortable and could take a beating with all the walking. ]}

[Naturally Biffy is in a suit. That is his preferred style. Obviously he knows that Kirk requires a more casual look while also having something that is more likely to bring his features out. Not to mention apparently finding him clothes that really fit.

(He still can't believe the man doesn't know his measurements.)]

Simple pieces really. Obviously you don't have a lot of room so a few classics that you can use to make a number of different outfits.

[He beckons him over to some pants and immediately starts looking through the slacks. Of course he's picking sturdier fabrics that still provide plenty of movement. He is aware that this is a more active man.]

It's really better to start small for someone new to fashion.

_{[ Kirk eyed the slacks with something that bordered between discomfort
and irritation. He had worn them now and then for a few occasions before
Star Fleet but on the whole avoided them, much like proper suits. He much
preferred jeans. But Biffy was in charge, and he knew he would suffer less
if he simply did as directed. ]}

I’m considered fashionable in my time, you know. I just have a more relaxed city look.

_{[ He knows he asked Biffy for some help, but the constant jabs at his
style or general fashion sense grated. ]}

[Were they in London, Lyall might have avoided the touch, if only because there would have been prying eyes everywhere if Biffy were to go on a social occasion. But here where those who know them know of their relationship - and no one seems to frown upon it - he is more than happy to feel the warmth of Biffy's hand.

He will squeeze those fingers back once before focusing on the show. He is actually impressed. This is a high quality production and while he doesn't know who wrote it, he can definitely appreciate it.]

[Now that he was feeling more like himself again, Ulaz was out shopping with Sandalio. Which was probably an odd sight to others considering his height difference compared to the other. Not that it really bothered him.

He had happened to mention recently, within ear shot of a certain werewolf, he had mentioned that he probably needed new pieces for his wardrobe. Of course the other had jumped at the chance and now here they were]

Where should we start first?

[Biffy is never one to favor affections over an artistic creation like that. Not because he lacks a romantic nature to him, far from that. Rather he is one to understand the work that goes into this, the pressures of a life spent focusing only on this. He has no intention of stealing a pair of eyes from them.

But when the lights go up for the intermission, he looks over to Lyall.]

You know, I actually quite like the story. It's not one I'm familiar with but it's remarkably well written.

Are you considered fashionable or simply too gorgeous for people to care about what you're wearing?

[He lifts some more pieces. They will need to be tailored but at least he can get an idea of how they will look. Also, he looks at how Kirk eyes the slacks and turns to him.]

Do you trust me?

[It had been an interesting experience getting Ulaz's measurements before coming to this but that's something in the past. Biffy is currently far more focused on the enjoyable efforts of finding clothes that will fit the size of his companion.]

I am thinking we find some shirts first and then we can find pants to go with them. We may have a challenge with your size but if we need to we can find something and get it tailored properly.

[He slips into one of the shops and starts looking at the various displays to decide what colors would suit his uniquely colored friend. Something more tame like his own mate might be more suitable given the fact that Ulaz wears a statement color. All the time.]

I’m not considered the disaster you seem to think I am.

_{[ He met Biffy’s gaze. Did he trust him? Yes, but to a point. He was
grateful for Biffy’s help, but he just hoped the other wouldn’t try to
utterly change everything about his closet or his style. ]}

Yes.

_{[ Because he probably wouldn’t like what came out of his mouth if he
expanded. ]}

Am I going to be trying those on?

I was about say just the same, my Lord. That is indeed highly enjoyable. I was not expecting much at first, but I am pleasantly surprised.

[There are probably references they are not catching, but it is not deterring from their enjoyment of the play itself.]

And the acting is very solid too.

[While Shiro isn't one for formal wear often, he doesn't escape from it either if the occasion calls for it. He digs out the black and purple suit he wore for Lunafreya's wedding, quickly slicks back his hair and joins Biffy at the theatre as promised. Hopefully this will be a good distraction from all the mist business.]

You look happy. You did this a lot in your world?

[Felix accepted the invitation without hesitation. It's not the first time he's been to such a show in this system, and nor will it be the last. It's a comfortable past-time for the wizard - both watching the play and the socializing beforehand. In many ways it's a comfortable glove to slip into, ironically absent of the constant political intrigue that plagued him at home.

He stands next to Biffy, arms crossed in front of his new blood red waistcoat, a jeweled phoenix pin on display upon the lapel in addition to his usual compliment of jewelry. Felix watches the crowd, back straight and chin tilted in a way that's habitually imperious, if it weren't for the light smile on his lips.]

It's rather somber in here. I do hope we're attending a play and not a funeral by mistake.

[He lifts a brow at that. Like he somehow has a feeling that miiiight not be the case. Anyway, he moves on.]

If you trust me then please stop making faces at the things I am picking until you have tried them on. You will give yourself wrinkles.

[And that's all he has to say on the matter as he goes to look for shirts.]

I have a feeling some references are based around this system we aren't familiar with. However, the writing has been clever enough to still allow one to follow it without that.

[He's impressed.]

Let us hope the second act continues to be this strong.

[In the meantime, though...]

Would you like us to get something to drink? I don't think they have any food in which we can partake, unfortunately.

I certainly didn't smell anything. We can see what beverages there are to partake in though.

[He gives his hand a squeeze before getting up so he can lead the way out. He has to wonder if there is anything besides water to have but he supposes they'll soon find out.

Oh? And what if we happen to be attending a play about a funeral?

[He laughs lightly as he reaches up to fix a curl on his head that is wanting to stray. He doe shave to say that the pomade he's been using here has been doing wonders for his rather adventurous hair. Something he's grateful for to say the least.]

Perhaps they are setting the atmosphere early.

I used to. More than twenty years ago.

[Biffy who doesn't look old enough to have been constantly going to the theater twenty years ago.]

I haven't had as much time for it since honestly. So I missed it a little.

_{[ That got a chuckle out of him. ]}

Wrinkles are the least of my worries, but thank you for the concern.

_{[ He followed Biffy a bit like a duckling, looking around the shop. He
didn’t hate everything in there, sometimes going over to feel the fabric of
certain shirts or consider colors, seemingly drawn to the dark blue
spectrum. ]}

I can remember a couple years ago when I felt so bored looking at my closet - just my uniform, day in and day out. Sometimes the gray formal one I showed you.

[Gil is mostly window shopping when he sees Biffy, and he comes over to give the guy a friendly smile.]

Need help carrying anything?

[Yes that was a hard one given that Ulaz was significantly taller, but they had managed it. Now that it was done, the focus was now on finding the clothes. He walked along side Sandalio, making sure that he wasn't going too fast for him]

Tailoring may be the easier option, considering the length I need. Though that is a good thought, that shirts are better to start with.

[He's aware he's tall and he had managed to find longer ones on another planet so shirts were probably the bigger requirement]

[They might not be able to get drunk from the alcohol, but they can still appreciate the taste. As it is, the theater offers a choice of spirits, but Lyall decides on one of the craft beers. It's probably outrageously priced, but it is good.]

[He actually smells his crew mate before he sees him. So he's already turned to him and smiles warmly at Gil.]

I would hate to impose. They really aren't that heavy honestly.
