01 : VIDEO

[ The video pops on to reveal a man that may look familiar but at the same time...not. Lotor is glitched and he's all Altean, and despite how ....terribly his time here has gone he's looking somewhat content. He's had a lot of time to think. ]

Good evening Drift Fleet. I have to say that my first foray into glitching has been not all that unpleasant. I understand that this occurs because of a malfunction in the devices implanted into us, but has anyone discovered a way to extend or reduce the time affected?

02: ACTION : SCRAP HEAP

[ It is like getting back to his roots. If there is one title Lotor would give to himself, unrelated to his aspirations for the unverse, it would be a collector. He's prided himself on his ability find the amazing in the doldrums, and in 10,000 years he's built himself up quite a collection. He's never been above getting his hands dirty.

As such he can be found deep in a prime bit of trash, pulling out wires from some old shuttle.

03: ACTION: ARENA

[ Lotor misses being all Altean, but it is hard for him to resist the call to the Arena now that he's all back to normal. A little stress release that's all.

Care to take on a monster or two with him? Or a little bit of sparring? ]

04: VOICE: Private to Princess Allura

I wanted to make you aware that it seems Atroma has decided to transfer me to your ship. I imagine it has something to do with ratings, as I attempted to refuse the orders to no avail. I apologize for what ever inconvenience this may cause for you. I will do my utmost to give you your space.

04: ACTION: THE SS TOURIST

[ Your new pilot is on board. Lotor is particularly annoyed that he's lost all his work on the starstruck shuttle, and can be found anywhere on the ship. But he'll be off ship often to pick through the trash (and bring back a bunch of nonsense and good stuff as well) so you'll find him often in the cargo hold and late at night. ]

[ She hadn't expected to receive any sort of correspondence from Lotor again. Or, at least not any time soon. She must be the last person he wants to speak to on this fleet, so she opens the voice message with some trepidation and--

Oh.

Well.

That certainly is a thing.

It's about half a varga of hiding in her room before Allura manages to reply...through text. ]

Lotor-

I received your message. You are likely right in your assumptions. No apologies are necessary. I will also do my best to give you space as well.

[Ulaz had of course heard that Lotor was present in the fleet and somehow, he had managed to avoid running into him, unlike how he had been the first one to find out that Haggar was there ~~stupid footstool...~~.

But today he is out at the scrap heap, looking for things that might be useful in general and things that might be of use for Shiro's new arm specifically. As he is exploring, he rounds a corner and spots the white hair of the Galra prince. He's both surprised and not at the same time to see him actually doing this himself.

But he's at the point where he may not be able to avoid being spotted. There aren't many Galra here. And other than being related Zarkon, there's nothing he has against him from his lifetime]

Do you need any help?

[ Ah. So she cannot afford him even the decency of her voice. Very well then. ]

[ That's the last they say to each other, at least for a few days. She manages to make sure that she leaves the helm with an appropriate window to let Lotor take over the pilot's seat when needed, wanting to give him the widest breadth possible. It seems a little cowardly at times, but after their talk in the library, she can only imagine that she's the last person he wants to see right now. Or perhaps from now on.

It bothers her more than she is willing to admit to herself. But...she did the right thing, didn't she? By telling him?

She hopes that she did.

However, they cannot avoid one another indefinitely, especially now that they've arrived at a new system. Allura did plan to be part of the effort to make Shiro a new arm, after all, wanting to put her newfound alchemy to use. So she suits up and is prepared to take one of the three shuttles down to do some scavenging of her own--that's where she spots him. IN the hangar.

Allura freezes at the door. ]

[ Lotor is sitting on the front of the shuttle, taking apart a large contraption when he lifts his eyes at the movement of Ulaz coming into sight. It is a surprise to see another Galra here, and he almost seems familiar, with those markings. A servant of the witches? He's not sure, but ever suspicious Lotor sets the contraption aside and stands almost lazily. ]

I think I have this much handled, but I do have to say...running across another Galra here is surprising. What are you called?

[ Lotor is stripped down to his under-armor after a long day of picking, and he has several piles around him that he's going through. Engine parts, wires and bits and bobs and the framework of what looks like some kind of hoverbike, and lots of other things. His suit is inside out and hanging on the side of one of the shuttles, wires sticking out everywhere.

The opening of the door draws his attention though, and he looks up, his white hair tied back into a loose ponytail that falls over both of his shoulders, to see Allura standing there. His first instinct is to greet her, and it takes him a moment to clamp down on that smile that twists his stomach up when he swallows it. ]

Princess.

[Pavel manages to miss the new transfer for a number of days what with all of the inevitable coming and going that accompanies visits to exciting systems (yes, the garbage system is exciting). He didn't expect their first meeting to be in the cargo bay in the middle of their night cycle, but apparently that's the place to be if you're an insomniac with trash to mess with.]

Ah, hello. [The Russian puts down his armful of scrap and approaches Lotor.] You are Lotor?

[He may seem familiar if Lotor had been aware of any of Haggar's experiments. May have seen him at least once. He got his information by being present, but forgettable enough that those of rank would speak in front of him. Who'd suspect a practically ancient Galra - by fleet standards - of being up to something?]

I was the first and until recently only.

[He knows Keith is part Galra and was there first, but if Lotor didn't know, that was not something he needed to point out, just in case it could somehow be used. That was Keith's information to reveal if it was relevant]

I am Ulaz, lab support on the Blameless.

[ They would meet at some point, she knew, but not like this. He looks...unguarded. Casual, like this. A way that she feels she shouldn't be privy to.

Allura swallows.

Then nods. ]

Lotor.

[ Don't make a big deal, Allura. You're probably making this ten times harder on him than he is on you. ]

I--

[ Ahem. ]

I'm sorry to interrupt. I had just reserved shuttle number three.

[Though Keith and Lance had signed up for tag team matches against monsters, a small glitch in the system (or did they fill out the weird forms wrong? Who knew?) landed Keith in a solo match against another contestant. He didn't expect to see Lotor walk into the arena to face him like that, but... really... he should have known better.

Keith was in his Paladin armor for this, as it did offer a bit more protection than the Blade armor (which was more for stealth and speed than heavy protection in a full on fight), but had both his weapons with him; the Black Bayard and the Blade of Marmora from his mother. For now, he only produced the bayard. Not being much of a talker, he simply took on a ready stance, waiting for the signal they could start.]

Shuttle three is not quite functional at the moment.

[ Lotor looks back down at his current project, an ancient looking engine. It sits in the circle of his legs, and Lotor works on opening it, the screwdriver looking incredibly small in his huge hands. He speaks as though he's talking about the weather, detached and quiet. ]

I was using it to study the internal components of the ship. We may have been augmented to know basic repairs but I would like more proficient if I am to actually live here long term. Shuttle one is fully operational for your use.

[ He hears the young man enter before he sees him, the rustle of metal in his arms loud in all the silence of the night cycle ship. Lotor didn't need much sleep, and he was more interested in getting his suit repowered, half of it properly rewired at this point.

So when Chekov puts down his supplies and approaches the prince straightens, turning to meet him, eyebrow arched. ]

I am... but I was under the impression that Humans such as yourself usually sleep at this hour. Pavel Chekov I take it?

[ This was certainly not what he was expecting when he walked into the arena.

Standing across from him was the Red Paladin, ready to strike before any kind of signal. Of course. This one was always short tempered. ]

Paladin Keith. I do not think we've had the pleasure of meeting properly until now.

[ He stands lazily, his broadsword hanging at one side. This was supposed to be some stress relief, but instead he has a feeling that this one would make this personal. ]

How appropriate for it to be here on a battle ground.

Is that so?

[ He crosses his arms, leaning back on his heels. ]

Ulaz. A very strong, traditional name. I am Lotor, Emperor of the Galra Empire. Not that that matters here in any way.

[ He waves his hand, as if clearing the air, his voice a bit bitter. It's not a boast, simply stating a fact. ]

I would ask what time point you came from, but that is another thing that really has no bearing on anything does it?

[ by Daryl's standards there's very little difference between late at night and the middle of the afternoon, so it's not terribly unusual for him to wander the ship.

He stops short at the sight of scattered stuff. ]

The hell's all this?

[ welcome to the Tourist family, dude. ]

[Ulaz isn't going to say more on if he really was the only Galra there to begin with. If Lotor knew, it could be passed off that Ulaz didn't know or something along those line if he didn't dig at it]

It is. My father was of a traditional sort. I knew of you, but I had never met you during my time.

It does not have much bearing on life here, but when I was alive you were still the Prince and still... separated from the Empire.

That certainly is a glitch. One that takes her aback. She hadn't seen Lotor since their initial conversation, had made it a point to stay away after uncovering some more Facts, and yet.

There he was.

She can't help but watch, of course, but unfortunately, as it seems to do whenever He is involved, her communicator catches her watching him and kindly... broadcasts to him as such.]

_{[ What's up, Lotor. Meet your new Captain. He wasn't exactly pleased with the sudden change in his roster. Less to do with Lotor and the mere fact that he, well, had no control over said roster. And now their little ship was a bit more full, which was missed, and they HAD needed a pilot. So it wasn't all bad.

He wandered into the cargo hold later in the evening. Tonight was one of his bad nights, and with sleep not forthcoming he liked to wander at night. And weight diagnostics of his ship had shown a growing collection in his cargo bay. He had come to inspect it, and was surprised to find the newest member there as well. ]}

Can't sleep either?

What did the glitch do exactly?

[Freya is squinting and trying to figure it out.]

[Keith frowned at Lotor, a wary, but annoyed, look on his face.]

No... I guess we haven't...

[Not beyond the few contests against each other that they'd had in space before Keith left for the Blade of Marmora. Though, Keith had met Lotor once face-to-face... right before Allura threw the emperor across the Castle bridge and Haggar hijacked Shiro's brain. He wasn't sure how much Lotor knew about that, though, so he didn't bring it up.]

I guess it is.

[It seemed that was the only way the two of them had ever met... on a battlefield... ready to fight one another. Funny how that worked out.]

Are we gonna do this or what?

It's fortunate that there are glitches that are less dramatic than others. May I ask how you were effected?

[ Lotor looks up at him from his position sitting with a scrub brush and a half put together engine part, eyebrow arched. ]

It would be a shame to leave this planet without taking full advantage of it's resources.

I cannot imagine this video is so interesting that you should eavesdrop witch.

[She frowns, gently pulling her cowl over her head. Not the same one she usually wears, but it's close. Atroma why you do this.]

You seem... pleased by your circumstances, Prince Lotor.

[ okay, so maybe some of it's useful, but it's still trash. ]

Long as it don't stink up the ship, I guess.
