[When the video came up, Keith was adjusting the angle, and then he sat back to better address the camera. He was sitting in the lounge on the Huntress, and looked super awkward. He didn't like it when Coran thought this was a good thing to try with the team back home, and he didn't really like it now, either. But, he knew it was good for them to be able to get what they needed and wanted here in the Fleet.]

So, I was curious finally, and I looked at that kiosk thing with the fanmail stuff. Apparently, I had some messages, so I'm going to answer a couple.

[He scrolled through the screen until he found one. The way he read them was kind of flat. There was no attempt at acting here.]

happy birthday, keith! if you could ask for three wishes today, what would they be?

Does getting back home count? [He shrugged.] Not that here is bad. A lot's happened here that has been good, and I wish I didn't have to leave behind. But what I do back home? That's important, too. And I always thought of that as more important than anything else I might have wanted. [Mostly. Things with Lance were good, and he really wanted to just stop the whole mission and ask his questions when he found his mom, but neither of those things happened back home. The situation with Lance was a regret, for sure. But, he was glad he finally got his answers about his mom, at least.

He scrolled again, repeating a question he saw more because he was weirded out that someone even thought to ask than any other reason.]

when will you show us your Galra transformation? I think purple would look super duper cute on you

I... I don't have one? [That he knew of. He wasn't even really aware of things that had happened back home.] I mean, at least, I don't think so. I've never turned purple, anyway. [He grimaced a little, definitely not comfortable with that, and moved on quickly.]

Is it true you’re secretly afraid of a cucumber ambushing you?

[He stared for a second.]

I have no idea what that means.

Dear Keith, since your armor suit and your pants are so tight, have you considered going commando? I bet your parts and Lance would really appreciate it!

My... parts? [He shook his head.] I'm not even going to answer that one. Honestly... [Annoyed look.] ...that's no one else's business.

[Of course... there was a crate in the cargo bay with Keith's name on it. He was wary, but he finally gave in and opened it. Inside were a few small things in a smaller box packed together, and then two larger boxes, one item each.

In the one smaller box, a few items were packed together:
panther plush
pink hippo cat costume for Snow
leadership for dummies book
hair gel (a hint?)

Then two other larger boxes packed in with the first, each with one item:
voltron cat condo (some assembly required)
red hippo trash can

Keith was not impressed...

[Shiro and Lance sent out a mass group texts to anyone Keith was friends with (that Keith told them about, but that's pretty much his entire friends list). The afternoon started off with a costume birthday party for Halloween, and eventually turned into a night of relaxation near the lake, camping around a bonfire with spooky stories, s'mores, and other nice fun stuff throughout the two parties. And, because it was a costume party, Keith actually did have a costume.

Mingle, threadjack, and party away in costume for the afternoon or stay the night camping on the shores of the lake to celebrate Keith's birthday here!

[Shiro watches the fanmail video while having breakfast, but since he already decided to visit the Huntress anyway, he opts to tease Keith when he gets there. And so he appears at the cargo by with a gift under his arm, red wrapping and black bow.

He doesn't give it to Keith yet though. Shiro is here with an Embarrassing Older Brother (TM) mission. He takes a peek at the box over Keith's shoulder and smiles.]

No cucumbers ambushing you out of the boxes?

Holy cheese, Shiro! [Guess what... Shiro snuck up on Keith. He grumbled, turning back to the box of stuff after settling back down from the tiny jump he gave in response to Shiro's sudden comment over his shoulder like that.]

No... no stupid cucumbers. What does that even mean?

[Annoyed pouty frown.]

Some of this stuff makes no sense. I don't even use hair gel. And what am I supposed to do with a cat costume? It's not like I have a cat.

[To him, Snow didn't really count as a cat.

He loudly dropped the lid back on the crate with a huffy sounding sigh.]

[He laughs and moves to sit next to Keith, taking a better look at the presents. He actually didn't get anything super embarrassing, nice. Shiro almost expected something to be used with Lance, ahem.]

I think the cucumber thing is a cat joke. The costume would fit Snow, wouldn't it? Lance may have an use for the gel. [Smiling at the pouty frown and the sigh, he ruffles Keith's hair.]

But I like your mane the way it is. Happy birthday, buddy.

[He gives Keith the red with black package. Inside there's a leather journal - or shall we say, sketchbook. It comes with a mechanical pencil and a note written on the front page.]

[ Allura is now only vaguely familiar with Earth birthday customs, but it seems that gift-giving is universal. So, of course, she's come prepared. Now just to find the birthday boy. ]

[ If she bumps into someone on the way, she apologizes. She's just very proud of her gift, okay. It's a big box. ]

[Pidge has shown up at Keith's party dressed like a witch/wizard. It's also a costume party, after all. She's mostly keeping to herself, though, wallflowering to the best of her ability close to where the snacks and refreshments are.

She keeps an eye on her friends from here, idly sipping at her drink while everyone socializes around her. This is enough for her, after all. She really isn't much of a partygoer.]

[He raised his eyebrows a bit at the color choice, but took the gift to open it. His face softened slightly as he ran a hand over the cover of the book, feeling the imprinted constellations... noting the Leo and Scorpio ones being most prominent. He smiled a bit, as the Leo one had a bit of a double meaning for Keith now. Not only did they have the Lions, but Leo was Lance's zodiac sign.

He opened it up, and, of course, there was something written there. He almost chuckled, but then read what Shiro had written. Keith gave Shiro a quick smile.]

Thanks. [He turned gave Shiro a hug.] That means a lot.

[Keith turned when he heard Allura call his name, a curious look on his face for a quick moment before he gave her a small smile.

[Keith didn't see Pidge right away until he had gotten over to the refreshments area, too. He smiled a bit as he spotted her costume, noting that it was similar to his own.]

Good taste in costume.

[He's still a little sore and achy come late morning considering the...celebration he'd given Keith at midnight (with tonight being a camp out, they wouldn't have any privacy then, after all), but in good spirits. It's his boyfriend's birthday, after all, and Lance is intent on making it as awesome as he can for him.

Once he's made sure that his gifts for him are wrapped up all nicely, he goes to join Keith in the cargo hold, eager to see what sponsor drops the other paladin has gotten. Under his arm are two packages of his own, though.

Lance strolls in, unsurprised to see a very confused Keith staring into a large box. He smirks and walks up to him, giving him a big ol' sloppy kiss on the cheek.]

Alright, what awesomeness have we got here?

He watches Keith's reactions closely, eager to see if he's chosen right - Keith has always been hard to shop for, after all. Time hasn't changed that. The color choice gets a shrug because hey, where is the lie? But he smiles back when he notices his friend liking it. Success! Hooray!

The hug is, of course, return.]

[She grins up at Keith from over her drink, giving his costume an appreciative once over as well.]

[Mikleo doesn't really get the whole costume thing (he understands the holiday as a concept due to the fleet, but it isn't one he ever celebrated back home) but he's here in the spirit of things, mostly for Keith's birthday.

Being invisible to people more often than not means that an elaborate costume wouldn't serve much purpose aside from being elaborate floating clothes, so he's getting into the literal "spirit" of things by wearing an old sheet as a costume, with a hole at the top for his head to peek through, and holes cut out where eyes should be at his chest. He does have a nice robe on underneath, though, because he's not an animal. When he gets tired of looking silly he'll just discard the sheet and hang out.

Since he doesn't generally do birthdays his present for Keith is handling the food, with catering via the Melting Pot, various sweets he's prepared ahead of time, and ice cream, sorbet, and shaved ice being made to order at the party itself. He has a little cart set up with the various flavours of the fleet kitchen, along with some random alien fruits and other flavours picked up around the planet. It's a pretty good setup, and he seems to be enjoying himself despite parties not really being his usual scene.

Come visit, have a snack! Be spooked by the floating ice cream ghost, if you can't see seraphim!]
