Tourist:
This was a new experience for Alfred. He had never expected to find himself aboard a space ship. It was also something he believed to be in a science fiction film or novel. Nothing to be fully believed that this would happen. But then...Gotham City should have taught him to expect the unexpected.

He also found himself assigned to being their cook. At least this was a familiar task and something he was happy to contend with. He was in the kitchen currently trying to get familiar with the equipment and the supplies offered. Alfred felt that he would get to work and eventually met the rest of the crew that was onboard the ship. Food usually brought people together. Crew mates may hear the sound of pans and dishes clattering and smell something nice being cooked. As he was preparing the meal he began to make a mental list of what needed to be replaced, what needed to be stocked and what type of equipment he could possible request.

Ikaulit
Alfred can be spotted checking out the Ikualit and getting familiar with it's layout. He would step in on occasion checking out the various establishments. The thought of opening his own had run across his mind, but for now it was just an idea he might expand on later.

He had found the gym and took to doing a basic work out and also practiced some fencing not wanting to get rusty. Feel free to join him if you're interested.

[Tim had noticed the older man coming into the Gym during his work out but had chosen not to stop and let them both do their own thing. However, now he's taking a break and rehydrating he's watching him fight an imaginary opponent with a fencing sword.

He'll go pick up a matching sword and approach cautiously]

[It is 100% not unusual for Remy to be on the Tourist, despite it not being his ship. Most of the time was spent there to see Jim, and because of that it could be any time during the day and also meant Remy did make himself at home there. Including using the kitchen to make up food for himself or others.

Planning to grab something to eat before he headed back to his ship for the rest of the day, Remy paused for a moment at the doorway to the kitchen upon spotting the new person on board.] Bonjour there. [Also, whatever was being cooked did smell rather nice.]

[Alfred gave a nod in her direction as he caught her greeting. He had been planning to continue on his exploration, but he decided to pop in and stay a little longer. He moved to sit at the bar.]

Perhaps you can. What do you have to offer here?

[He wouldn't mind some scotch if this place provided it. Only, he wasn't sure what to expect here.]

[Alfred turned quickly at the sound of the voice and managed to withhold from hitting the person with the sword. He had been too observed in his own training to realize someone else had entered the room. That wasn't good for him and he reprimanded himself.]

Please for give me, you had caught me off guard. I would appreciate having another opponent if you are still up for it.

[Tim smiles a little, always a little amused when he can sneak up on people]

I didn't mean to scare you. I'm Robin. Are you new to the Fleet or have I just not run into you before?

Good evening. Is there anything I can help you with?

[Alfred greeted and turned around to face the young man while wiping his own hands with a dish towel to get any flour residue off. While the young man spoke to him with a French greeting, the accent didn't quite match. He didn't bother to question it, but kept it in the back of the mind for reference. ]

I'm Alfred Pennyworth, recently arrived on the Tourist and the new cook for the ship.

No need to apologize. I had been more concerned about harming you by accident, young sir.

[Alfred gave an apologetic bow to emphasis things.]

I'm Alfred Pennyworth. I just recently arrived here on the Fleet. I was trying to familiarize myself with this place and form a routine.

[Tim's face just goes blank and confused, the fencing sword going slack in his grip instead of at the ready.]

Alfred? [It's a small voice that comes out]

[Oh, very polite, wasn't he? Always a good start.] Just plannin' on grabbin' something to eat before I headed off ship, 'nd well, from what I just smelled, be 'mpossible not to find what it belonged to. [It really was good.]

Nice to meet ya Alfred, 'm Remy LeBeau, 'm part of the Twin Roses 'nd work as a cook at the Space Bar. Welcome to the Fleet.

I will warn ya though, ya captain here, Jim, he be real possessive 'bout makin' breakfast. Proclaims he's the best at it. [But this was delivered in a warm and joking tone to tell Alfred he shouldn't take it too seriously.]

[Alfred quickly noted that the other's accent seemed to be settling in and he was able to have a good idea of where he was from.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Remy LeBeau. I'll be sure to keep in mind that breakfast is off the limits. Perhaps, I can offer you some coffee or tea before you head out the door?

[It was Alfred's turn to look confused and he titled his head in question.]

Yes, that would be my full name. Have I met your acquaintance elsewhere?

If you have any scotch to offer it would be appreciated.

[In the worst case scenario he would take a beer. Scotch would be his first choice followed by a good glass of wine.]

[Tim doesn't know what to say or do. He's in costume and this isn't his Alfred.]

Remy's fine, ain't use to bein' that formal 'round these parts. [A flash of a grin before he took up the offer.] Coffee would be great, since ya offerin'.

[He gave a nod in understanding.] Is there a particular way you like your coffee?

I suppose I'm adjusting. It's a lot to take in and I'm still trying to find a purpose here. My young charge is not here among the fleet. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I would say with chicory, but haven't been able to find 'nything like that on our stops yet, sadly. Milk 'nd sugar be fine, thanks.

Ya know, [Remy started to offer as he moved to rest a hip against the side of the bench, not yet going to sit down. It just felt a bit too rude to do so while he was waiting on a drink, not like he was at a cafe or anything.] Donno if will help, but most when they have gone back home 'nd come back tend to say it's like it was they never left, like home just froze for them. So whenever ya get back, it'll be the same, like ya never left for ya, ah, young charge. [That's an interesting term for it.]

You're not the only one caught off guard here. I've always helped young master Bruce with everything he needed and the few friends he brings along with him. Yet, I'm afraid I don't know your story.

[As per Remy's instructions he went about to prep the tea.]

I understand the idea behind that...but how can something like this just freeze time? Let alone allow you to return home and then come back here?

As I said I know an older version of you, much older actually. The Bruce is just in his forties. So you've kinda stopped calling him young master.

[Alfred couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the comment of Bruce being in his 40s. He could understand himself being older, but it was hard for him to imagine Bruce being older when he was still a young man.]

There are many things that I disapprove that the young master does, but he continues to do things regardless. I feel he wishes to see how far he push me at times.

That does sound like Bruce although I don't think it's to push you. He just has strong convictions about doing what he has to do? Regardless of how it might affect himself or others around him?

Oh I fully believe that. In the end he means well. It's rarely about himself. I only wish he would be more careful.

Wishing he would be more careful might be a losing battle I'm afraid? Bruce just tends to think he can do everything on his own even as he surrounds himself with people who could and will help him.

Need to make ya way down south further, [Although...] That assumin' ya State wise, or even from Earth. Those become rather common questions 'round these parts. [A hint of a smile with that.]

Who knows? I gave up tryin' to figure out a long time ago. Too far 'bove m' head. Though, I guess kinda works with the alien stories floatin' 'round, or at least from m' home 'nd universe. People sayin' they taken for what feels like weeks 'nd turns out to be minutes, or gone for a moment but come back years later. [Then a bit of a chuckle.] Then again, before all this, I use to think that was all merde 'nyways. Turns out they were more right than realized.
