[The trip to the SS Iskaulit is a twofold one. First and foremost of course, it's a shopping trip. Since her arrival Mirage has only had her flightsuit and Mikumo's borrowed clothing to rely on. It was a problem she had meant to rectify quickly but the whole mess with dreams and not dreams and everything else had meant it was a no go.

Now that things had quieted down, Mirage was determined to stock up clothes she could call her own and ones she felt were more... appropriate. Not that Mikumo has a bad fashion sense but she definitely didn't have Mirage's brand of fashion sense.

... Or what little bit of fashion sense she did have. Whatever.

The second reason is simply to get a chance to stretch her legs and be somewhere besides where they had been trapped for weeks and the SS Starduck. She'll endeavor to spend most of the day wandering the whole of the SS Iskaulit, getting a lay of the land with the vessel and nosing into stores and other areas alike.

At the beginning of the day she can be chiefly found availing herself of the Gym once it becomes clear there are no clothing shops in sight. How can there be no clothing stores?! She sticks to mainly the bikes or treadmills for now, noting that she hasn't had a chance to work out in several weeks and ought to go back to the routine slowly.

The Community Gardens also strike her interest and she takes the time to stroll through them leisurely, seeming relaxed and fairly content. The gardens isn't exactly a park and she seems keen on looking over the plants and learning what each of them are and where they originally came from.

Eventually she can be run into at The Melting Pot for lunch or dinner, one of those. She seems determined to look over all of the menu and maybe try some dish she had never eaten before. If she's going to have a day of exploration then food might as well be included too.]

[When Mirage enters the Melting Pot, it's nice and quiet. The perfect atmosphere for a simple, relaxing meal. And every meal is delicious, of course, and there are quite a few new and interesting ones on the menu.

However, once her order is in and ready, that nice little quiet moment?

Totally over. The plate is served and Taako's the one on the other end, grinning from pointed ear to pointed ear.]

So, you still working on that dance routine?

[Mirage had been looking over a book she had picked up at the library and so at first looked up with a surprised expression. And then as the dots connected and slammed into one another seconds later, her expression grew quickly annoyed.]

Of course not. [Huff.] What are you doing here?!

[She regrets asking that the moment it leaves her lips. It's obvious what he's doing here, Mirage. Please don't give him more ammo.]

[Oh, delicious. She's still mad at him. Taako's smile grows impossibly larger and he wiggles the plate at her.]

Nothing much, just making sure you don't die of malnutrition. Is biting the hand that feeds you another one of your skills, nerdlord?

[She'll stay mad. Forever, in fact. That's just how Mirage does this.

And while she stays mad, she'll take that wiggling plate before he can taunt her with it anymore.]

The person who cooked this is feeding me. You're just delivering it.

[This is rich. Taako sets the plate down and pulls the table placard out that advertises today's specials. It proudly proclaims that today's dessert is a fruit pie and that cream puffs are available on demand. It has a flourish of painted flowers in all four corners and a notice about the special meal of the day, and then?

Right at the bottom it says:

Head Chef: Taako

He sets the little placard right in front of Mirage and waits.]

[Mirage abruptly bows her head. The floor never swallows her up when she wants it to.]

[Inwardly Mirage seethes but her goody two-shoes needs dictate an apology. This asshole right here, oh my god.

Her expression is tight to say the least.]

Forgive me, I'm being rude.

[He was going to tease her a little more, but honestly? That little visual display was more than enough to pay for her rudeness. It was like a feast for the eyes, watching her realize her mistake and then having to swallow her pride and apologize?

Freaking.

Classic.

The smile on his face turns into a self-satisfied smirk and he shrugs after a moment.]

Water under the bridge, kemosabe. I just might have to charge you something extra - emotional damages, you understand.

[Kaname's entrance into the gym for her mid-morning workout provides her with a familiar face that's currently fixated into quite the scowl.

She makes her way over to check on the pilot, careful not to startle her.]

Mirage...?

[She'll find an unusual sight when she arrives at the garden- namely, Messer of all people already here, seated on one of the benches and just kind of chilling in the ambience, his eyes closed. He's wearing his bracelet, and there's a little blue earbud in one ear, but if it's playing music, it's too soft for anyone around it to hear.]

[He is a cruel and wicked man. Mirage wonders how tiring putting him and Mikumo in one room together would be on a person's patience.

She nods a little, bringing a hand to rub the bridge of her nose. She's still annoyed but much more resigned to it now.]

I understand. That's what I deserve for losing my temper.

[nomirage]

[Oh. Messer was definitely the last person she expected, that's for sure. Her memories of the calibrations are all soft and dreamlike but she's fairly certain the last place she saw him was in one of those. Maybe?

Something, something, love triangles. Something, something, sap.

She debates a moment whether she ought to disturb him or not but then she recalls Kaname's words that she ought to talk to the man more. This wasn't back home and he wasn't exactly her commanding officer here so...

A moment of debate later and Mirage steps into his line of sight, making her presence clear before she speaks.]

Good afternoon.

[... Why is this simple thing so awkward????]

Hm?

[A little too quick, a little too sharp. She immediately softens when she notes it's Kaname however.]

[Poor Mirage, so many hangups. Messer opens his eyes to glance over, a little surprised to see her here as well, but within a second or so he nods.]

Good afternoon. I didn't expect to see you here.

[nomirage]

[At that Mirage smiles faintly.]

I'm just here for the opportunity to walk around honestly.

Hi. Are you doing all right?

[It's a fair question. Kaname's checked on her own crew, and Mirage is considered that at the very least. It's only right she follow up with her as well.]

It was a crazy few weeks.

[nomirage]

I'm alright. I came hoping to find clothing but...

[A long sigh goes here. It's followed up by a light smile however.]

It's nice to get the chance to go outside though.

[Well, as outside as being in another ship could be.]

[Oh, she has no idea how cruel and wicked he can be. He hasn't even told her the price for her indiscretion yet.

But she's agreed to it and that smile on Taako's face? It just got wider and more devious than before.]

Oh, yeah? Then consider it a sealed deal, legally bound, you have to pay the price.

[But first? He nudges the plate toward her.]

When you're done, just flag me down and I'll bring you the bill.

Ah, I see. It's nice to be able to get things of your own. Hopefully the next system lends itself to that. [lol it doesn't]

I sort of missed the Iskaulit a little, as weird as that sounds.

[nomirage]

[Why is life so cruel. At least Mirage can laugh over missing the Iskaulit though.]

I understand. Being cooped up in one place when you've had room to roam is definitely stifling.

[Here she pauses to stretch.]

I'm just glad to be able to get a workout in again.

[nomirage]

[Ah, that look. She hates it, thanks. So she'll just take her sweet, sweet times indulging in her food before she ever considers settling up the bill. Here she had been hoping to just tip actual money but apparently one can't buy their way out of Taako's circle of amusement.

When it does come time though, she faces it with admirable aplomb. She got herself into this mess after all so with a sigh she settles back into her seat.]

Alright, name your price.

I know what you mean. [Kaname takes a step back should Mirage decide to step off the treadmill.] The area on the Marsiva for it felt too cramped to make much progress at all.

[In fact, the singer moves a little ways away to sit down and start to stretch.]

[He'd been busying himself around the restaurant when Mirage called him back over. A quick check of the bill, the total added up, and that extra fee written in underneath and he's back at her table.]

Hold your horses there, kemosabe. Not even going to tell me how much you enjoyed the meal?

[Because no matter how much he teased a person, he was still going to make a damn good meal for them and his ego has to be fed just as much as any other living creature. Taako sets a slip of paper face down on the table in front of her, keeping his fingers on top of it to prevent it from being lifted.]
