Back to the same old grind. What's the most interesting thing that's happened to you in the past ... let's say year? What's noteworthy?

Open - Vanquish Hangar Bay

[Furiosa is practicing knife work, one-handed, with the blades Natasha had loaned her. She's good with improvised weapons, but her familiarity lies more with firearms than melee, so she's spending some extra effort during drift getting familiar with the motion. She's got a board set up against some crates with a crude target on it, tossing the daggers one at a time, and then retrieving them to try again.]

Closed - Tyrion

[Eventually, in part restlessness, and in part gearing for any eventual battle (infrequent as they might be, she prefers to be prepared). She shuttles over to the hangar bay of the First Breath, feeling a pang of nostalgia as she navigate the familiar ship, and makes her way to Tyrion's engineering station.]

When have I not had time for an extra project? Do not answer that - I can survive on little sleep and mostly mental stimulation.

[He is wiping his hands clean after adjusting the First Breath's coolant pump, as it is on the rotation for Engineering Repairs this month. So yes, things have gotten slow enough that he's just doing his regular chores. Save him from his monotony. ]

Well, I'm back again - without my weapon of choice.

[She makes a motion to her left arm, missing its prosthetic.] How many of these have you made for my already?

[Tyrion's eyebrows rose together.]

Well, shit. I thought they'd at least give you that back.

[He hummed, rising to his feet as he went to the back of his workshop.]

A few prototypes, one or two replacements. Want to look at all of them?

[Natasha wanders in during Furiosa's practice, pausing first, then standing aside to watch. She doesn't speak up or interrupt, content to satisfy her curiosity through observation alone.

At least at first.]

[It's her turn to peak her eyebrows.]

You still have them?

[Furiosa looks over at Natasha when she notices the other woman, and gives her a nod of acknowledgement. She goes back to her practice, nonplussed that there is now an audience.

Imperators, warboys, wretched, there wasn't much in the way of privacy in the Citadel, outside of the bio-dome.

She focuses on clean, accurate throws; nothing flashy of fancy.]

[There's more than one kind of privacy. Natasha feels that way, at least. They're living together in a relatively confined space; there's only so much physical privacy that they can expect.

In lieu of that, she generally tries not to be nosy. Doesn't ask where or why she learned to throw a knife.

Instead, after a while, she comments:]

Looks like you know what you're doing.

Naturally - I never destroy anything I build.

[Tyrion hopped off from his stool, moving to his storage areas.]

[That's an idea Furiosa can understand - if they were to talk about it. There is a sort of tacit understanding, though; it's a comfortable silence.

Furiosa takes a moment to look over at the complement, then goes to collect the knives from the target.]

Well, at least I've got someone fooled. [There's a small smile, a slight upturn at the corners of her mouth, that knows better than that. But, she holds them out to Natasha.] Mind showing me what a master can do?

[She's assuming that someone who took such care and had such superb weapons must know how to use them.]

Well, I am very thankful for that.

[She follows him, though tries not to crowd him when he gets to his storage. If she's got a variety, now, perhaps she'd be able to pick the best one for whatever job she's facing.]

A master, hm. [The corner of Natasha's mouth twists up and one eyebrow arches higher.] I'm not sure if I'd call myself that.

[Not because she doesn't have the skills, but because it's not necessarily something she feels like she should be complimented for. Even if she remarked on it in others.]

But I could probably show you a few things.

[He pulls out one or two of his earlier prototypes. Nothing, perhaps, fancy but well made. Then there were a few skeleton designs there that looked like they were still being tinkered with.]

I'm certainly curious to see.

[She hands the blades over, then stands back and gives her a nod. Master or not, it's a good way to see what her Captain was capable of.]

[She'll take well-made over fancy any day, and she already knows Tyrion's work is solid and reliable.]

Perfect.

You - kept these, thinking I'd be back? Or did you not want to get rid of them?

[She takes the knives back, testing their weight even though she knows them inside out.

She approves of the care they've been shown.]

In that case...

[It's a flick of the wrist. A quick, casual motion without any waste. The kind that might not even draw attention in a crowd.]

[Tyrion snorted softly, as he started to haul out each piece out.]

You know very well the answer to that is Both.
