[The face that appears on screen belongs to a very attractive young man. He grins, as if he hasn't a care in the world, and something about that smile is irredeemably charming.

When he speaks, he has a gentle English accent.]

This is a reality programme then? Do we have a theme song, do you think? Do we get nicknames based on our personalities?

Is one of us the bitchy one? Or the cute one? Or the bad boy?

[He shifts a bit. The smile takes on a more mischievous edge and it seems to bring out dimples in his cheeks. His movement also allows the viewer to see his augment, which is very visible and takes up all of the space behind his ear. Whatever is in his head, they needed a lot of hardware to control it.]

If so, I want to the cute-but-lazy-one-with-dimples. Is that one already taken?

[He looks around, taking in what's around him, and for a moment, something a little dangerous seems to appear in him, though it's just the tail hint of it resting on the edge of his face and tone.]

I have to say, if you're expecting me to be impressed by the fact that reality can be altered so much that I'm here and not home, whoever is behind this has a lot of catching up to do.

[And then whatever that dangerous edge was, it's gone.]

You'll have to contest with my dog, who seems to be quite fond of making my shoes disappear.

Though now I have worry about him, thank you very much. Dog's rubbish without me around to take care of him.

[Now he's rambling, but at least he seems comfortable while doing it.]

Right. Well, I should sign off, as they say. This has been Adam Young, aka The-Cute-But-Lazy-One-With-Dimples.

[And to prove the title is well earned he smiles, flashing those before-mentioned dimples and his perfectly white teeth, before switching off the video.]

[It takes him a moment. Paradisa had once robbed all his memories of what Adam looked like, what he sounded like, there had been a void there. He remembered since arriving at the Fleet, but he still hadn't seen the kid since.

And now he's not a kid any more. Maybe time really didn't stand still back home like they thought. That's concerning. Still, it's good to see Adam again, older as he is. Without him, there would be literally nothing to feel good about ever again. ]

That's terribly long. They'll make it an acronym instead, you know. TCBLOWD. Something like that.

Did you change your hair?

[Adam considers the familiar face with just the hint of surprise before settling back into his easy comfortableness.]

Hm. That does sound a bit too much like a blond joke, doesn't it?

I haven't changed it recently though now I might, to make things more interesting.

If you're here is the other one here as well?

[Honestly, Allen barely pays attention to the broadcast. He has the network running as he does work in the clinic (nothing exciting, just inventory), but it's mostly just in case he hears something that he'd consider important. A charming blond guy he didn't recognize didn't rank high on that importance list.]

[The name, however, gives him pause. After knowing Crowley for so long, it's to be expected he's heard the name Adam Young before. However, it's a name that Crowley didn't bring up that often- and with Allen's less than stellar memory, it's also to be expected where he heard that name]

[And so he mutters to himself, not realizing his communicator is transmitting. His voice is quiet, but at least he sounds like another british person since apparently this fleet just likes them or something]

Adam Young...where have I heard that name before...?

Could it possibly be that I've just arrived and already have fans? [The way that he says it, there isn't really any arrogance there. It's more of a joke at his own expense than anything else.]

Though it's more likely you may have heard of me from someone from my reality? There are two of them here that I know of.

[Oh, he was broadcasted? Whoops. Eh, it's not that big a deal. He'll actually bother to look at the camera.]

Ah- sorry.

[At being caught or for muttering, who knows]

And I supposed that's possible...who is it that's from your world?

No need to apologize.

And that is an excellent question. The answer that would be given to it would depend largely on when you were asking.

I think for now you might know them as Crowley and Aziraphale. If you do know them, that is.

[Is that where he heard the name? Crap. Was it in a good way or a bad way? Arrgh]

[HE'S KNOWN CROWLEY OVER SIX YEARS AND HE NEVER MENTIONED HAVING A KID]

I hope I haven't revealed his deep, dark secret by telling you.

Bollocks! I've known him six years, he should have mentioned this before now.

I take it he's been looking after you in some odd manner?

[A pause, as he considers that.]

I'd like to think that you could say that I look after them as much as they look after me.

The world was in a spot of trouble a while back. We put it right and since then... [He shrugs, not really sure how to describe it.]

He didn't raise me, though. If that's what you mean. I have my own family.

That sounds like Crowley, alright. [There's an irritable noise. So rude Crowley, not mentioning that there's a kid in your life-]

[Well, not a kid anymore, but still!]

Well, I'm Allen. It's nice to meet you finally, Adam.

[Adam usually wouldn't share any of this, to be honest. He wouldn't even have said their names to a stranger back home. Here, though, he feels so irritated by the situation that he's sort of throwing caution to the wind. He'll feel guilty about putting Allen in the middle of that later. For now, though, there's no hint of that irritation. He seems more amused than anything.]

Nice to meet you as well, Allen.

So are you and him close? [A fake, amused gasp as he pretends to think of something.] Are you the home-wrecker character?

[There's a sudden pause at that. Even though Adam meant that last part as a joke, it falls completely flat with Allen. In fact as it's sinking in that Adam was some kid that Crowley cared enough to at least keep an eye on for years...well, he's starting to look less irritated and more like that was funny as getting your dog kicked]

...Crowley's like family to me. I've known him since I was a teenager.

[Yet all of the sudden he's feeling like maybe he was just filling in for someone more important. Again.]

[To his credit, Adam seems to realize he fucked up. His face falls a bit and for a moment he frowns.]

Look, I'm sorry. I'm pretty frustrated at waking up in an alternate reality with new accessories in my head. That and I miss my Dog.

I deal with emotions by joking. Even the bit about Dog was a joke, so you can see I'm not very good at stopping. I miss him but maybe now's not the best time to bring it up.

[A small pause. He takes a breath, lets himself get more serious.]

I'm not really like family in the same way. I'm more of... a responsibility.

I'm the tea kettle you check in on once and a while to make sure it's not exploding. You trust it to make tea, but you don't want your kitchen up in flames either.

[Oh Adam. He pauses at that again, but at least the kicked puppy look is going away. Thank goodness for that. I mean, not that he can really do anything beyond look sad when he's upset unlike Adam. But still, kicked puppy look. Who wants that in their day?]

Maybe you should...think about getting a non-electric kettle if exploding kettles is a legitimate problem for you.

[That's right. That may have been sass. But he shakes his head. It probably is dickish that the idea that this guy isn't really family makes him feel a bit better, but it does. He can stew on the moral implications of that later]

No, it's fine, really. I get it. [Shoving away those daddy issues] ...No one is in great sorts when they arrive here. I know that.

Sometimes you're just stuck with the kettle you have.

[He offers Allen a small smile, trying to be encouraging.]

Since you were a teenager though? Are you from the same reality or did you meet here?

Ah- neither. We met in a worl- er, a reality before this one that we both got stuck in for years. It was called Paradisa. Then we got brought here.

I think so? Maybe. I also may want tea.

[He considers that.]

There's some kind of force out there pulling you back and forth between realities?

That's not on at all.

If you're not picky about the flavour, there's tea in the drink dispensers.

[What flavor it actually is for tea. who knows. But it tastes....like tea]

That's right. [It's not on at all, but it's also complicated. More complicated than he wishes to share right now] ...My luck's always been bad, so I've been wonder if that's why.

At least you found acceptance from the people, then?

[There's a pause, and a slight frown- so wondering if that's some sort of comment on his face. Rude. But he won't remark on it]

...Yes, I suppose. I've made my fair share of friends both here and in the previous world.

That's good then.

That's what people do when they're at their best, connecting with each other and supporting one another.

[There's a pause]

...Are you hoping people will accept you?
