I have a weird question... have you ever met someone in one of these places who's supposed to be dead? Or... I guess, are you? How do you know?

Someone I met here knew someone I knew from home, who died.

It wasn't uncommon in Paradisa for the castle to bring back the dead, no. I knew several people who had died before they came to the castle.

It happened in Aather, too. Just not for anyone who I'd seen die, you know?

I saw people die and come back in Aather.

But no one showed up in Aather that I knew from home who I watched die.

Does that make sense?

[He's seen that too. People who had been dead and gone from home, made alive by the castle- only to eventually be whisked away again.]

Are they here now in the fleet?

No. No one from home is here, as far as I know.

Ino knew my friends at the last place where she lived. One of them had died in front of me, and I just... don't understand how any of it works, really.

A friend of mine at the last place I lived died before she got there, too.

[There's a pause on his end, and he seems to frown at the mention of Ino- because he knows damn well who Katniss is talking about. Which man, way to go Ino, telling her about Rue. Honestly]

...I'm afraid none of us really understands how it works. How these places can bring back the dead like that...it's one of those questions no one has found the answer to.

..It's alright. I'd be curious about the same thing too.

I wish I could give you more answers. [It's a half-truth. He'd like to know enough to give Katniss a piece of mind, reassurance that Rue was somewhere safe and alive if he could. But the exact mechanism behind the power to return the dead? No...he really doesn't think that should be given to anyone. It was a hard enough pill to swallow that these places do it for an Exorcist.]
