open to all
When he's not in the med bay, he's either baking sugar cookies in the kitchen, grumbling about powdered milk or some ingredient that doesn't quite transfer well to the oddities of outer space (but hey, it's still edible and halfway decent). Next time, he suspects, he's gonna add his share of coffee grounds and a little bit of cocoa, just to see what happens, because he needs something to go with his tea. And as much as he likes their sourdough, it doesn't hit the spot.
If all else fails? He's wandering around the hallways, because even a vampire's got some restless energy he needs to let go of.]

Hey. How's the science going in here?
no subject
The science happens to keep everyone healthy. [Ooor maybe he was waiting for her to come in, because he's a little too comfortable with the affection. Even leaning forward a little, just so she can rest her head against his shoulder.] But it's good. Just bought enough medicine to last us the next two planets.

[As much as he wants to stand like this forever, he... well, he glances over his shoulder at her.] So I'm guessing that means no more snowball fights for you?
no subject
Nope. No mas. Anything that ends with snow down my shirt is right out.

The kid that visits me in the lab - you've seen her, short, red-haired, a ton of energy? She challenged me like last week, but she used some kind of weird telekinesis and I ended up in some snow avalanche.
[He exaggerates.... only slightly]

[She grins, giving his arm a teasing pinch.]

The kids here are pretty badass, Alex. I wouldn't count them out just yet.

but that smell. he smells it before he even enters the kitchen. it's cookies and he hasn't had cookies in years. he really hopes stefan is willing to share. he leans over, avoiding the mess himself, but enough to get stefan's attention. ]
You're making cookies.

[Now that's a voice he hasn't heard, and Stefan makes it a priority to know everyone on the ship. He glances up from the oven, pulling out a fresh batch of cookies and setting them on the counter.]
Well, I'm trying to. My recipes don't translate well with what Atroma has - but you're welcome to them when they've cooled down.

[ his mouth pulls up into a kind appreciative smile. he takes off the glove on his flesh hand and picks up a cookie. it's hot but he easily floats the cookie in his hand before taking another, stacking them neatly in mid-air ]
I met someone else in the fleet who likes to cook. She seems to be running into problems finding the right ingredients for her dishes too.
no subject
I'd believe it. Most of us come from Earth, and the vast reaches of outer space aren't so kind to our methods. [Case in point: the batch he just finished.] If you have the proper augment, it's a piece of cake, but uh - we haven't had a cook here in months.
no subject
[ He sets the cookies in his palm and snacks on one. ] Doesn't seem like you need an augment to be a cook. These are great.
no subject
[At the compliment, Stefan blinks back surprise, staring at the rest of the batch before a slow smile comes across his face.]
Thanks. I had a few pointers, though - and about half a year of practice. [Grabbing a cookie of his own!] But hey, if you like them this much, I'll try to make 'em every week.
no subject
Really, every week?
[ He looks confused. ]
Wait, you need to practice making these? What's there to practice, don't you just-- [ He lifts his shoulders ] dump things in and put it in an oven.
no subject
[The less he thinks about that, the more sleep he gets at night, so he's ignoring those implications - but he has to laugh at the confused look. Stef at least tries to muffle it with a hand, but. It's not entirely successful.]
I wish! Baking's like a science - unless you've got the ratio right, you try making cookies and you end up with a burnt mess.

I'm going to call this one... "Caught Slacking." [ It's obvious that she's joking, she knows you work hard Stefan. ]
no subject
Tell me you at least got my good side.
[Not that he'd know if he had one. Stefan and pictures are usually like oil and water. He motions for her to come in, gesturing to an empty mug.] How're your latest photos coming along?
no subject
Trading the picture for a mug. ] It's nice not having to worry about running out of film. At least for now. [ Not much of an answer, but an answer. ]

You got more over the holidays?

[He doesn't observe Christmas, so he uh, might be saving her present for his own gift-giving holiday
or downthread.]I'm glad, though. I would've missed that camera flash.

[Headtilt] Kinda glad we don't have to sit forever anymore, though. Could you imagine having to hold a pose that long?
