[A pretty, pale-skinned woman with "sea green" (I don't write the canon narration, okay) eyes is holding the communicator too close to her face. Depending on your frame of reference, she looks like a blond Vulcan or a more or less unremarkable elf, and she's wearing an expression of slightly exasperated concentration. And she is definitely talking to herself.]

Aww man, I bet Starkphones are better than this.

[She's accidentally turned on the broadcast, you see, because she's from the early 90s and how does personal electronics that aren't from Atlantis. Quick study, though, and she giggles a little as she realizes she's transmitting.]

Whoops. Hi, everybody. My name's Nita, nice to meet you, can someone tell me how to record a voicemail greeting on this please and thank you?

[Obviously it has to have voicemail, duh.

Technological hiccups notwithstanding, Nita seems quite unbothered by having been kidnapped into space, and she settles back, pulling her long ponytail forward over a bare shoulder as she does so to avoid pinning herself to the seat by her own hair. The new angle reveals that she's wearing a scaly green bathing suit and not much else...and she's seemingly unbothered by that, too, looking at the feed with an expectant, friendly smile.]

[Chloe is somewhere else in the Marsiva, just kind of frowning at the woman on the monitor she was passing. Because...wow.]

...You've been sucked into some crazy space fleet reality tv show and you're worried about voicemail?

[Nita glances around at the hotel-lobby lookin' hospitality deck and shrugs.]

This is way better than every other time I've gotten kidnapped.

[Sidekick life.]

[Okay, that makes her laugh.]

You get kidnapped a lot?

Yeah, someone always wants a hostage. [Eyeroll.] It never works and then someone gets a bus thrown at them. You'd think people would learn eventually.

[She is, to all appearances, not joking.]

[Hold the phone here.]

You can throw a bus?!

That was more supposed to be a comment on the size of the fight that inevitably happens, but yeah. A bus is what, 10 tons?

[Another shrug.]

I can lift way more than that.

[Nita's a little smug, but not to obnoxious levels. She just really likes being her.]

[Holy shit. Okay. Chloe can't decide if she's in awe or just doesn't believe her. A week ago she wouldn't have believed her, but now...]

[Hey wait a second.]

You can throw a bus but you're worried about voicemail.

[That was still a weird thing.]

[What do these two things have to do with each other, Chloe?]

Well, yeah. I don't like the automated greetings where it just reads off the number.

[It's just so weird.]

...Sure, why not.. Most people ask about going home or escaping, from what I've seen.

I didn't have any plans back home [haha let's never talk about what a shambles her life is currently] and I'm good, but I never figured out how to breathe vacuum. Besides, why would I talk about escaping on a phone the people who kidnapped me gave to me? That's like saying "hey, come foil my plans, please!"

I guess. Far as everyone's sayin', if anyone is listening to us, there's never been any sign of it.

[Hmm.]

So are you some kind of superhero?

[The question gets a flash of...something across Nita's face. She's not even sure what she's feeling, so the more power to Chloe if she can figure it out.]

...For a while. Not right now.

[Nope, no idea. She catches it, but doesn't know what to attribute it to.]

But you were. I mean, if you can pick up a bus what other job is gonna be fun right?

Environmental activism!

[Once again, yes, she's serious.]

...Seriously?

Well, yeah. I can punch bad guys all day, but that doesn't help dismantle the system that causes the kind of environmental damage my Earth is facing.

I...guess not.

[Chloe is a hippie sure but like...superpowers.]

But people who can't pick up a bus could be doing that while you're punching out supervillains.

[Honestly, I have no idea when she sleeps.]

[Chloe is tired just imagining it.]

I guess none of it matters here either way. Not a lot of environment to protect in space. Or buses.

I'm sure there's something heavy around I can throw at people I don't like.

[She shrugs.]

Chloe. Probably with the phones, I'm using one of the monitors in the walls though.

[Nita smiles to show she means it. She smiles a lot, really.]

[The punk girl grins.]

Nah, too busy chatting with everybody. Oops.

[Ain't even mad, people are cooler than phones.]

There's a lot of people around, far as I can tell. Bunch of new ones like us stuck here on the ship too. Take a walk and you'll start bumping into them.

[She shrugs.]

I haven't bothered with the little phone-thing much. Just been seeing who shows up on the tv things.
