[Luke Skywalker is sitting pensively in front of one of the wide windows on the Marsiva's Hospitality Deck. Rather than staring out into the darkness of space, he's bent over a tiny silver disk in his hands. It's open, revealing a series of wires, something mechanical and complex. Lacking any proper tools of his own, Luke is replying it with careful fingers and, occasionally, teeth.]

[Lacking any proper supplies, he's forced to improvise. At one point, he removes the glove on his right hand. There's a burn over the back, but the flesh cracks open to reveal more wires and mechanistry. Luke pulls some wires out, breaks them and inserts them into the disk. It seems to cause some of the fingers on his hand to twitch irregularly, but the disk is repaired. He presses a button, and a little blue holograph of a smiling couple appears.]

[He stares at it for a little while.]

[Finally, Luke notices that he's being recorded.] Hello, there. How long have you been on, hm? [He reaches over and turns off the feed.]

[Actually wait. A second later, Luke turns the feed back on.] I suppose if all of this is being recorded, I ought to introduce myself. I'm Luke Skywalker. It's a pleasure to meet you. [His smile kind of... twitches.] All of you.

[Belthazar is fascinated, glowing green eye wide and his long ears perked. He's always liked watching Hiro work on things, but um... he's never actually spoken to anyone with a robot arm longer than thirty seconds. It's very unheard of in Azeroth even with all its schizo tech.]

Your arm...

[Belth, that's rude. Nerd mode has been activated, I'm sorry.]

It looks so realistic! Did you build that yourself? How often do you have to perform maintenance? Is it just your arm, or are you entirely artificial? Can you detect heat and coldness with it? How strong is it? What is it made out of? Is it heat-resistant? How long have you had it?

[Laughing gently,] Whoa, Whoa, I can't think that fast. Which question do you want me to answer most?

[arcanepower]

[Thank goodness he's patient. Belthazar has to force himself to breathe, so he takes a big breath and holds it a second while he thinks.]

Um... are you a robot?

[t65]

No, no, I'm not a droid. I'm completely human. Well, mostly. [He waves his robotic hand, still slightly twitchy from the missing wires.]

There is nothing like that where I'm from. If you lose a limb, you're... well-- [Finally his rudeness catches up with him, and his ears pin against his hair.] I am sorry you were so gravely injured. A-and please, forgive my rudeness as well.

Oh, don't worry! Curiosity's a good thing, as far as I'm concerned. Did you have any more questions?

[Bless you, Luke.]

Several. But the last thing I want to do is bother you, sir.

[Where did all of that fire go? Luke is slowly becoming curious himself.] You're not, I promise you. I'm actually a little bored. [A lot bored.] This is a welcome distraction.

[When you're literally kicked by people who are above you in status, you kinda get that way. He tries to conceal it until he's sure it's okay, and then it all spills out. He's very enthusiastic about Luke though, it's obvious in the way his eyes keep poring over the feed and his inability to sit still.]

Ah! In that case-- what is your arm made out of? Azeroth's replacement limbs are really very basic, but I have seen at least one that was made of mithril so it would not break easily in a fight. By and large the majority are made of wood. That gives you an idea of the level of technology I am used to. My best friend has helped me become familiar with robotics, though; he's really a brilliant engineer, and I think he might be able to help you with your arm. That is, if you need help at all.

Just durasteel and synthskin. Oh, and the wires and internal power relays, but the major components are durasteel and synthskin.

I shouldn't need any help if I could find replacement supplies. The synthskin will be hardest, I think; there doesn't seem to be any bacta here.

I've never heard of those things. Durasteel might be something we can manage to salvage, but as for synthskin... [He rubs his chin.] What is bacta? A mineral?

Bacta is a kind of... bacteria. [It feels dumb to say that out loud...] It has healing properties, and it can be used to make artificial organs, or, [he holds up his hand,] synthetic skin.
