Who: Jaina, Leia, Luke
Broadcast: N/A
Action: The Bishop
When: Forward-dated 3/25

[Over the weeks, Jaina has been falling into something of a routine. It’s not that she’s really accepted that she may be in the fleet on any kind of long-term basis; it’s just that she is a young woman who tends to cope by assigning herself more work. She’s supposed to be one of the ship’s engineers that keeps it flying? Then she’s going to make sure the ship continue to run like it’s brand new.

She’s got a crateful of parts that are carbon-scored from use, and she’s lugging it back to her bunk, planning to settle in for some scrubbing. Just a relaxing afternoon of work -- and when she enters, there’s Luke and Leia.

It really wasn’t so long ago she was the kid trying to salvage droids to do chores without parent’s approval, or trying to secretly claim her own derelict star fighter. Instinct has her freeze momentarily, mouth opening for an excuse. Finally, she clears her throat.]

This is all part of routine maintenance. No rules being broken.

Who: Shinji Ikari and you?!
Broadcast: Fleetwide.
Action: SS Heron.
When: 3/12.

[network.]

[Shinji rewrites this about a dozen times before he finally decides to post it. It reads:]

Hello. My name is Shinji Ikari. I'm a pilot that's stationed on the Heron. I'm sorry if I'm not using the network as it's intended, but I don't know how else to distribute this message. I've been a member of the Fleet for over a month now and I've met quite a lot of people who have treated me well. It's something I wasn't expecting at all. I haven't been in the best frame of mind, but people have gone out of their way to reassure me, offer to help me, or just talk to me. That's something else I wasn't expecting. I don't know why anyone bothers to talk to someone like me.

The point of this message is to say that I'm grateful. I'd like to thank all of those people, and repay them, if at all possible. I don't know some of their names or contact information, though. I do have an easier time of thanking my crew - I'm doing that now - thank you, everyone, for putting up with me. And hello to anyone who's newly assigned. Anyway, I'm on the Heron, like I said, and I have small tokens of my appreciation to give out if people want them. I'll be in the cargo bay all day by the gym equipment. Although it's kind of pathetic, a single conversation is enough to qualify for this. (Talking to people is helping my ratings...)

Kaworu-kun and Asuka, I have things to give you too. I know it's a little early for White Day.

Unrelated question: Is it possible to delete any content that's posted to the network? I'm guessing not, but maybe I missed an option for that.

Thank you for your time.

[action, aboard the Heron.]

[Shinji can be found sitting in the cargo bay, on a stretching mat, nearest to the gym equipment. He's young-looking and more than a little sleepless, wondering if he shouldn't have made that embarrassing post. He's in the middle of nervously, repeatedly digging his fingers into a netted bag of colorful marbles that he won from the arcade on the Starlight. They're beautiful glass marbles, each crafted to resemble a foreign galaxy.

This isn't much of a gift, but he hopes it isn't a stupid one.

He looks up whenever he has a new visitor. Before he says anything, he pauses his music player and takes out at least one of his earbuds.]

Who: Crew of the SS Blameless and visitors.
Broadcast: Nope
Action: SS Blameless
When: March, or until we feel like a new one.

[It's a mingle! Get out of the car!

Unique ship notes for new crew and visitors: giant, unmissable scorch marks currently line the walls of several corridors leading from the cargo hold to the bridge!

Also, thanks to Kate, we now have a SWEARS AND ATTITUDES JAR displayed prominently in the kitchen. Whenever someone's being naughty instead of nice, they're compelled to deposit a few credits (or at least an iou) into the awaiting jar.

Also also, we are all still bunking together. HAVE FUN.]

Who: Luke Skywalker
Broadcast: Fleetwide (+ additional Blameless-only announcement.)
Action: on the Blameless.
When: 3/1

[Luke is sitting on the bridge of the Blameless, eyes bright.] Hello! I'm Luke Skywalker. [He waves.]

I was trying to think of a better way to ask this, but I realized it doesn't matter, does it? If the Atroma really watch our every move... [He cocks his head to the side, a tiny shrug.] Well, you know.

Anyway, I've heard of people disappearing from the fleet. Have you ever noticed anyone disappearing after doing something that might have made the Atroma angry? [Someone's feeling ballsy today. The defiant smirk on his face kind of backs up that interpretation.]

[He almost shuts the feed off before remembering-]
Oh! One more thing... I've been talking people here, and most of the ones I've met are from systems-- planets-- without spaceflight technology. Some even without flight technology. I was wondering... well, I was going to ask if there was anything I should know about that, but I don't even know where to begin asking! I can't even imagine it.

Who: Caterina Sforza
Broadcast: fleetwide and completely unintentional
Action: Marsiva
When: the 18th

[Hello, Drift Fleet! Don’t you love these unintentional recordings of new arrivals? No? Well, at least this one is nice to look at. Straight out of an Italian Renaissance painting, in fact.

Caterina awakens on the bunk wearing the same black and yellow gown that Cesare had had her dressed in. Her “tiger stripes,” he had said, damn him.

But she realized, as she looked about, that that was almost all that was the same. She was no longer chained or shackled. She was not caged. And this was neither the Vatican nor the Castel Sant’Angelo. Whatever else may be true of this place, that held promise. It was enough to improve her humor considerably.

As she starts to rise, she finally notices the communicator beside her. The curiosity plain on her face, she picks it up and examines it, turning it over in her hands.]

And what is this, I wonder?

[Action]

[Later, Caterina finds her way to the cafeteria. She's not expecting anything up to her normal standards, but after a siege and eating broth of boiled rat for a few weeks, she'll take what she can get. What she gets, however, is a great deal of confusion. Instead of anything remotely resembling a normal kitchen, she is greeted by a series of machines, all flashing lights and strange noises.

For a moment, she just stares. This is beyond ridiculous. It really is. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't have to deal with it, so, reluctantly, she steps forward to examine one of the food processors.]

Who: Luke Skywalker
Broadcast: Fleetwide (Accidental)
Action: Marsiva
When: 2/16

[Luke Skywalker is sitting pensively in front of one of the wide windows on the Marsiva's Hospitality Deck. Rather than staring out into the darkness of space, he's bent over a tiny silver disk in his hands. It's open, revealing a series of wires, something mechanical and complex. Lacking any proper tools of his own, Luke is replying it with careful fingers and, occasionally, teeth.]

[Lacking any proper supplies, he's forced to improvise. At one point, he removes the glove on his right hand. There's a burn over the back, but the flesh cracks open to reveal more wires and mechanistry. Luke pulls some wires out, breaks them and inserts them into the disk. It seems to cause some of the fingers on his hand to twitch irregularly, but the disk is repaired. He presses a button, and a little blue holograph of a smiling couple appears.]

[He stares at it for a little while.]

[Finally, Luke notices that he's being recorded.]
Hello, there. How long have you been on, hm? [He reaches over and turns off the feed.]

[Actually wait. A second later, Luke turns the feed back on.]
I suppose if all of this is being recorded, I ought to introduce myself. I'm Luke Skywalker. It's a pleasure to meet you. [His smile kind of... twitches.] All of you.

Who: Luke Skywalker
Action: Planetside;
When: December 27th

[He's spent three days lurking on the Marsiva, acquainting himself with the network, with the chatter and the confusion, learning all he can, hiding himself away from anyone else on there. Foolish, perhaps, when the others on here are likely fellow captives-- but better to be too cautious right now than too reckless. Better to assume he has no allies than bank on the wrong people.

There's been no word on the network on Leia or Han, but it would be too much to expect a neon sign pointing towards his friends. It might be too much to expect they're here at all, but he won't give up hope til the Fleet outright leaves this system.

But so: it's long past time to end this charade. The Marsiva has given him all it can, and now it's time to begin making himself known. Luke walks openly along the streets of the planet, unassuming and barely noticeable. With all the training he's had, he has little to fear-- but still, his face is drawn. Occasionally he'll speak to this person or that, asking a few questions-- but moving, always moving, quite clearly intent on finding something.

Someone. There are Force-sensitive people here, probing gently at the edges of his mind; he doesn't know who or why, but he's intent on finding them.

Even beyond them, though, he's asking questions-- mostly of people who look like they don't belong, who might be fellow Fleeters. Questions about their world, their homes, their experiences here.]
