I was trying to think of a better way to ask this, but I realized it doesn't matter, does it? If the Atroma really watch our every move... [He cocks his head to the side, a tiny shrug.] Well, you know.

Anyway, I've heard of people disappearing from the fleet. Have you ever noticed anyone disappearing after doing something that might have made the Atroma angry? [Someone's feeling ballsy today. The defiant smirk on his face kind of backs up that interpretation.]

[He almost shuts the feed off before remembering-] Oh! One more thing... I've been talking people here, and most of the ones I've met are from systems-- planets-- without spaceflight technology. Some even without flight technology. I was wondering... well, I was going to ask if there was anything I should know about that, but I don't even know where to begin asking! I can't even imagine it.

Hello, this is Luke. [He'd like to think he's on a first name basis with his crew, right?] I just wanted to thank everyone who voted this week. The results were in my favor, but... Azula, you definitely gave me a run for it!

And I wanted to welcome our new crewmates! Sara Lance is our newest security officer, and- [He pulls up the roster again-] Oh, good; we finally have a pilot. Carswell Thorne is their name? It's nice to have you aboard!

I'e heard a lot about Earth. It doesn't have flight technology, and it does, and it has spaceflight and doesn't, there are amphibious sentient lifeforms coexisting with humans, but 'superhumans' are part of an authoritarian regime, and it's where 'English' was invented. [He sounds slightly annoyed while recounting this.] I think someone was lying.

[she walks in carrying a little plastic cup and spoon, because it's her party and she'll eat chocolate-flavored dessert cream if she wants to. especially if she's going to be holding conversations with luke skywalker. while he's levitating a pen. she twirls the spoon between her fingers in lieu of commenting on pretty much any of that.]

Oh! You must be... [It occurs to him that he's got no idea if 'Sara' or 'Carswell' are feminine or masculine names.] ...one of our new crewmates. [Nice save.]

Three people disappeared from my ship recently. They weren't behaving badly that I know of. The only thing they had in common is that they were all from Japan. [Which is... extremely worrisome...] Maybe the disappearances are random, but I kind of doubt it.

If you learn anything, I'd really like to hear about it.

Actually, I've been to a few planets where the native population didn't have flight technology. It's not as terribly uncommon as you might think.

I . . . guess it would be pretty weird, if you're used to the thought of life and settlements on other planets. But at the same time, there's so much on Earth, it's hard to feel like it's all that small.

Then again, she also has a history of speaking up against captors when it isn't necessarily smart to do so. At least no one's getting knocked out with Force lightning over this.]

[ Ah, another Skywalker. What a surprise. At this point, it all just slides off Hera's back, so no biggie. His question, however, is an interesting one. ]

I'm still trying to work out what sorts of things might anger the Atroma in the first place. For instance, actively trying to leave the fleet doesn't seem to do it - you just get teleported back once you get far enough away. Approaching the Marsiva doesn't do it, either. Again, we just got teleported back after a certain point. Tampering with the cargo we currently carry? Doesn't seem to have done anything yet.

In my world we never had the flight technology, but we could fly. We either used broomsticks or some kind of magical creature. Non-magical people had found a way to go into space, but nothing like this ever seemed possible.

[ She pauses, considering for a moment. ]

We can go back in time... Why not into space...?

[Logan was the only one other than Azula to have voted her as captain. He'd wanted her to get the position so she'd have less reason to leave the ship. He wanted her somewhere he could keep an eye on her.]

[Luke continues to either remain totally ignorant of, or blithely ignore, any less-than-friendly overtures Logan may be making. He considers Logan's suggestion with a smile.]

I don't think she'll give up that easily. If anything, this will focus her aggression on me. [Which, from his tone, he seems to consider a good thing. Fewer people likely to be caught in the crossfire, less hate and anger... that's got to be better, right?] But if I'm wrong... I'll see what I can do.

Nothing, I suppose. It's why I'm curious. I've never seen so many things that are commonplace for other people here, I can only assume the same is true for others.
