[Luke is sitting on the bridge of the Blameless, eyes bright.] Hello! I'm Luke Skywalker. [He waves.]

I was trying to think of a better way to ask this, but I realized it doesn't matter, does it? If the Atroma really watch our every move... [He cocks his head to the side, a tiny shrug.] Well, you know.

Anyway, I've heard of people disappearing from the fleet. Have you ever noticed anyone disappearing after doing something that might have made the Atroma angry? [Someone's feeling ballsy today. The defiant smirk on his face kind of backs up that interpretation.]

[He almost shuts the feed off before remembering-] Oh! One more thing... I've been talking people here, and most of the ones I've met are from systems-- planets-- without spaceflight technology. Some even without flight technology. I was wondering... well, I was going to ask if there was anything I should know about that, but I don't even know where to begin asking! I can't even imagine it.

PRIVATE TO SS BLAMELESS CREW:

Hello, this is Luke. [He'd like to think he's on a first name basis with his crew, right?] I just wanted to thank everyone who voted this week. The results were in my favor, but... Azula, you definitely gave me a run for it!

[Such cheerful wow.]

And I wanted to welcome our new crewmates! Sara Lance is our newest security officer, and- [He pulls up the roster again-] Oh, good; we finally have a pilot. Carswell Thorne is their name? It's nice to have you aboard!

ACTION:

[After these announcements are broadcast, you can easily find Luke on the Blameless' bridge, sitting in the captain's chair, staring out the window, levitating what looks like a ballpoint pen over his open palm, and generally looking extremely bored.]

[Meditating is hard, okay; he'll try again in a minute.]

[He laughs, surprised by the answer.] It might be too late for that.

[But this is interesting. He never would have pegged Logan as someone with experience working with children.] Are you a father, or... some sort of teacher? [Luke is betting the former. He has difficulty seeing Logan choosing to interact with children voluntarily.]

Teacher.

[... and Father. But given he'd just cut out a pair of claws of his own son not long before arriving here, he doesn't much feel like admitting to that.]

[He laughs softly.] I guess you have a lot more experience than me. I'll try not to do anything you wouldn't do.

[It's no laughing matter and Logan isn't joining in.]

The kid is dangerous. If I was any other man, she'd had already killed me a half dozen times already.

[Well, you have Luke's attention, Logan.] Do you mind elaborating?

[shishkebub]

That kid's a volcano. She can put out enough flame to torch a river an' her lightning ain't no picnic either.

[There's no sense trying to downplay it. Against the others on the ship, Logan isn't all that convinced any of them would last long against her. He only was able to take her out by surprise, after all.]

[Wait, wait-] Lightning?

[A nod.] Ain't a half bad acrobat either.

[t65]

[If Luke weren't from a PG series of films, he'd be swearing right now.] You're right, I've underestimated her. But- [Because Luke is from a PG series of films, his smile returns.] that means I've also been underestimating you. Not many people can stand up to lightning.

[shishkebub]

[He snorts derisively.] I go down to it same as anyone else. Only difference is I get up faster.

[Luke gives Logan a look of indulgent fondness.] Would you mind elaborating on this, too?

[shishkebub]

[He crosses his arms.]

That ain't relevant.

[t65]

[Luke sighs, still with that indulgent look on his face.] If you say so. You've already provided a great help with Azula; I'm sure you'd tell me... not to 'push' it?

[luke stop]

[Logan can only wonder what he means by great help.

He nods.] Yer captain and she ain't tried to light you up just yet. That's somethin' right there.

I'd like to say that's a sign of her better nature, [and he will, at length, to anyone who will listen,] but I wonder what you think it means.

[shishkebub]

It means she's smart. She ain't gonna make a move unless she thinks she can win.

[And his encounter with her definitely placed a big question mark on that possibility.]

[t65]

Then I better reconfigure my hand not to short out from electrical charge... [He thinks the best one possibly can of Azula, but he wouldn't put it past her to attack him if it suited her.] I just don't understand why it's worth so much to her. It's a completely empty rank.

For her, it's just another rung up the ladder. You're just the next unfortunate asshole above her.

[He means that in a very caring way.]
