[There's a ~~Darth Maul cosplayer~~ tall and annoyed demon pacing back and forth, playing almost nervously with his hands like there's a ring that should be there but isn't.]

Another reality show? I thought the last one was bad enough.

[He stops his pacing to look up at the ceiling, seeming to direct his anger at that.]

Leo! Leo Wyatt! Orb your whitelighter ass down here and do something useful for once!

[He waits a moment before he throws up his hands in frustration and goes back to pacing.]

Great, fine. Alright, you've got me here. Point me at whoever or whatever you want me to kill so we can get this over with.

[At first Shirley doesn't see anything that stands out to her in Cole's speech and the guy's looks are a little intimidating, so normally she probably wouldn't have answered. But once she's seen his conversation with Chris...]

Chris said you were his father, didn't he? It's good to meet you. I'm Shirley, one of the people on his crew.

[Thankfully, Cole's much nicer than he looks.]

Yeah, he did. I'm Cole Turner and it's a pleasure to meet you, Shirley.

[Oh, he's polite! Looking better.]

Thank you. I don't know what ship you'll be on, but I hope the two of you will be able to see each other.

[He's also realized that he doesn't need to be Belthazor so he shifts back to his human form. Which is definitely less intimidating.]

I'm sure we'll find a way to see each other.

...He's not being too neurotic and antisocial towards you, is he?

[He can do that? It explains how Chris is his son, at least.]

Neurotic? No, not at all.

[Well, except the times where they were all kind of freaked but that's understandable. But that question isn't totally unfounded, coming from his father...]

Is there something to be concerned about?

[The upsides of only being part-demon, being able to look normal.]

Really? That's really good to hear.

[Cole actually sounds vaguely surprised because Chris not being neurotic? Impossible.]

No, no, I just worry about him, that's all. He's not the sort of person to open up to people and befriend them, but I can't blame him after everything he's gone through.

Is that so...

[Really now. Those are the exact words that run against everything Shirley's learned in her run as near-annihilator. This may require action if what Mr. Turner says is true.]

I'll make sure to look out for him. Don't worry.

[Just as planned--I mean.]

It's only the right thing to do. He's been the same way to me.

I'm not surprised. He's always had a good heart.

[Considering he went back to the past to save his godmode cousin from turning evil, he better have one.]

You care about him a lot, don't you?

I do. He's the most important person in the world to me.

You see, Chris is a miracle. I didn't think I'd ever be able to have a child with his mother and our first attempt to have a child didn't succeed. [To put it lightly.] So to end up with a son is a blessing I thought I'd never have. To know that he's a good man and has done better than me is all I can ask for. That and his happiness, of course.

That's amazing.

[Shirley's only real reference for fatherhood is Will and Harriet, but she's capable of appreciating what Cole must feel well enough.]

I hope the two of you are able to spend more time together here. I've been told it's not always easy to meet with people on other ships.
