Who: Robb Stark & People at the Blue Fish and the Vanquish :) (and some closed logs)
Broadcast: n/a
Action:
When: backdated 28th of February to the 1st of March
Action – The Blue Fish
[Anyone who wishes to drop by is welcome to do so. Robb has sent a polite message to everyone on the ship with the question if they are interested to learn to shoot with the weapons available on this ship.
He has cleaned up one of the cargo holds to create a sort of shooting range, the targets all made from scrap iron. All he truly knows of shooting ranges are those in Winterfell and Riverrun. Made for archery practice instead of shooting with these space guns. Still, Robb figures that it must do for now.
He decides to wait for a couple of hours, slowly chewing on a piece of bread. If no one should come...well, at least he tried.]
Action – SS Vanquish
open
[Robb does not like to fly these small ships and it shows in the way how it shakes and wobbles when it approaches the ship. It also shows in the way he docks the tiny ship and how he stumbles out of it. Space is something he can understand a little, weapons are also not a problem, but flying, no...Robb Stark is not made for flight.
A sigh of relief escapes his mouth when he sets foot onto the vessel, glad to feel something solid underneath his feet again.
Not every ship is the same, he knows that by now and he enters it slowly, calling out to someone who might hear him.]
closed to Hermione
[After a deep nod he smiles. He is not sure if he truly wants to learn magic. His wolf dreams are already one thing he does not wish to go into, but actual magic...it makes him feel a little uncomfortable. Yet, he does not want to decline such a kind offer. Lady Granger means no harm. She is kind and warm and the color of her hair reminds him of Jeyne.]
Let us start at the beginning. [He hopes his voice sounds neutral enough. That he is able to hide his wariness. She is not going to harm him but it is not for a king to become a sorcerer. His men would turn from him. They would whisper worse things than ‘half wolf-half boy’.] Or you can show me first. [And then he can decide to politely decline or not.]
Action – Closed to Dany
[Now his chambers aren’t the most neutral place for a conversation like this and he has been fussing over whether he should don his crown or not. Or the clothes he came with. For once he wonders if all of this has a place in space. And, of course, there is the worry that they are recording everything. They are watching his every move because, apparently in modern societies, it is something amusing and entertaining.
So without crown and without his Westerosi outfit he waits for her by the docking station, sometimes moving his fingers through his hair or touching his chin to determine he has stubble there or not.]

action
So down she comes into the cargo hold, peering around until she finds Robb and his makeshift range. She waves to him as she approaches.]
I hope I'm not too late to take up your offer?
action
When Riona appears he is busy eating a bit of bread, chewing slow and thoughtfully and only pausing to scratch his arm from time to time.]
Ah, lady Riona. [He swallows a bit of bread away before he stands.] Of course, that is why I have set this up. [He hasn’t seen many of the people on this ship. But then again, who would need a gun if you could wield two swords? Or bend air?]
action
I haven't tried using one of the... guns yet. How have you found them so far?
action
I rather have my sword. These guns weigh nothing. Also, they lack defense. Apparently they go without a shield.
action
So like a bow and arrow, then. An enemy gets too close to you while you're armed with that, you're forced to pull back.
[She picks up one of the guns and turns it over carefully in her hands. He's got the right of it; it is far lighter than she expected.]
And the... whatever it shoots is already inside?
action
Well, if a man would stand in front of you carrying a sword that sword would’ve chopped off your head even before you can reach for an arrow. Trying to stand up to that would be folly.
Aye, it is.
no subject
I see. Well then. [She moves until she's several paces away from the target. Inexperience rears its head here; she wields the gun awkwardly as she tries to aim it.] Nug-humping - this is the strangest little thing. What an unnatural position you have to put your hands in!
no subject
[Oh!] My lady, do mind the way the gun sends you backwards after firing it. Some have been falling flat on their arses after firing it.
no subject
I did not even know they did that. Maker, how much power is in these things?
no subject
Quite some. Imagine it as a sword and an arrow in one. Such a little shot can destroy a lot.
[Still he cannot imagine fighting Lannister armies with things like this.]
Even though I prefer swords. [He prefers swords a lot.]
no subject
no subject
How did you manage that? [Because gods, he wants a sword!] Not that I would not accept your offer, but I rather have my own. Is there a blacksmith somewhere?
no subject
[She grins, pleased with herself.]
no subject
no subject
[No time like the present. Riona takes aim with the gun, staring down the target once more before she pulls the trigger.
Robb wasn't kidding; the kick back from the gun makes her stumble back, partly in surprise.]
no subject
[When Riona moves to hold the gun he shuffles to stand behind her, ready to catch her if she’d stumble backwards.]
no subject
Andraste's tits - I'm sorry, Robb. Thank you. You really weren't kidding about that. And damn if it wasn't loud.
[A shake of her head as she tries to get her body to settle from the adrenaline rush from the sudden movement.]
I... think you don't necessarily have to? When I was on the station, I recall merchants mentioning something about being able to take it straight from the box, without needing the coin. But I haven't tried it myself. That's likely another Allen question.
no subject
These weapons are rather idiotic. Not only you give away your position when firing it, you also fly backwards if you fail to control it.
[A huff escapes his mouth.]
Why is it an Allen question?
no subject
[That huff and the question are telling.]
Allen manages the finances; he would be my first thought. Then again, I suppose anyone who has been in the fleet long enough to use these banks would know.
[But she's hardly interested in that now.]
...do you not like Allen, Robb? [This isn't the first time talk of their first mate has garnered a less than enthusiastic reaction.]
no subject
[Robb raises his eyebrows.]
Is he master of coin or second in command? Or both?
[Robb is not sure about that. Allen could be a friend, yet, he did not like how the other dictated his acts. And he did not like it how Bran made it sound as if Robb himself has acted like some sort of bloody savage to Allen.
But the lady Riona does not have to know that.]
We disagree on some matters. It is nothing troublesome. [He treats me as if I were a child.] My brother is quite fond of him.
no subject
[There was no denying the power this thing had.]
Both, it seems. Sokka is both our captain and an engineer as well. Having more than one job in this place doesn't seem terribly uncommon.
["Disagree on some matters". Oh, if that isn't code for "shit went down" then she doesn't know what is. But she won't pry too much.]
I see. Bound to happen, with different personalities in such close quarters. Hopefully they are matters that can be resolved over time.
no subject
Call me old fashioned but I rather have a sword. [He feels far more confident with some iron resting on his hip instead of these exploding-arrow-shooting-devices. Guns.] But I take it they are not common in space. We’ll make due, I take.
[He also wonders if they will ever get to use them. At times his position seems a bit unnecessary. People live in harmony on this ship.]
I know of that. But then again, I do not think this vessel is large enough to hold more people. I am rather glad with being able to have a private chamber. [Robb can be quite a private person and when he broods he also likes to do that in private as well.]
I am sure we are able to solve our differences. [If only for Bran’s sake.]
