[Another shuffle, another addition to the crew! Welcome Cole to your new shippy home!]

[This is a catch-all mingle post for anyone on the SS Wonderduck after this week's shuffle! The ship is docked on the planet for anyone who just wants to stop by for whatever reason! Feel free just to make your own subject thread with a prompt!]

[ This is a thread for when Cole is undistracted enough from the chocolate stuff to remember he's got free reign of the Fleet and there is a son that needs grounding.

Also open for anyone else on the Wonderduck once Cole and Chris have their... talk... and come back to the docked ship. This is going to be an incredibly sullen young adult stranger lurking around and trying to act like he belongs there. Hey, it's like buy a demon, get a demon for free! ]

[It doesn't take too long for Cole to finally realize that hey, he's off the evil ship with its shimmer-blocking walls and pure evil, and he can now deal with the issue that is his son not telling him things. Again. And ground him like a responsible parent should.]

Christopher Perry Halliwell, you get your ass over here so we can finish that talk.

[Yep, full named used. This is Serious.]

[ There's a long hesitation, just long enough that Cole might consider seeking his son out or trying the name again, before Chris finally shimmers in. He looks insulted. ]

You can't do that. You can't use the full name, you haven't even given it to me yet!

[The moment Chris shimmers in, Cole grabs him by the ear and starts to drag him off away from any prying eyes. He doesn't know these people yet and he's not going to embarrass his son by yelling at him in front of a bunch of strangers.]

Oh, you don't get to play the "but I haven't been born yet" card with me right now.

[ As if dragging him by the ear isn't going to be embarrassing enough? Chris flails, trying to get Cole off him while simultaneously being pulled somewhere more private. ]

Hey, cut it out! I'm not five!

[Cole stops, lets go of his ear, and instead picks him up and slings him over his shoulder.]

Not yet, but I'll keep treating you like this as long as you keep behaving like you are.

[ Okay, no matter what crawled up his dad's ass and is prompting this, Chris is not going to be a sack of potatoes. Not that all this manhandling is really uncommon for the two of them, but it's the principle of the matter when they're in a strange place. He shimmers out and stands in front of his father, arms crossed. ]

I thought you wanted to talk!

[The downside of having a son totally willing to use his magic to escape your grasp. Cole merely sighs and walks over to pick him up again.]

I do want to talk, but not right here. Now stay there or I will do something even more embarrassing than this to bring you with me.

[ Chris grunts, completely and obviously displeased with this turn of events but he also knows Cole is fully capable and willing to follow through on that threat. He grabs on to the back of Cole's shirt and just kind of radiates sulky unhappiness. ]

You're taking this a little far, you know?

[Chris is just gonna have to deal and sulk while Cole carries him.]

Are you kidding me? I don't think I'm taking it far enough.

[ That's exactly what Chris has to do. Ugh. How far is Cole going to take him? ]

You are definitely taking it further than you need to.

[Just to right here. Where Cole drops him onto the ground.]

No, I really don't think I am. What were you thinking, hiding that from me?

[ Chris thumps to the floor, then gets to his feet rather like that hadn't just happened. ]

That it wasn't important! It doesn't make a difference in the end. We get hurt all the time in this family, it's just what happens. You should know that, too!

And that makes it better? Chris, you should have told me that you were that much weaker in your human form! [sighs] I've been working under the assumption that you were closer to me in durability and you're not.

[ Chris shakes his head. ] So what? I can still do what needs to be done, I can still fight just like I always have. Just because I get hit a little harder doesn't mean anything!

It means everything. [As he says it, he moves and pushes Chris lightly.] You're a demon, you're supposed to take most hits and shrug them off. But you can't. You're as vulnerable as any human and that's dangerous when I don't know!

[ There's only a half-step to his stumble when Cole pushes Chris. He stands up to it, not even remotely backing down. ]

It's dangerous no matter what! Everything is dangerous in our lives! This is who I am, I've been this way my whole life, knowing about it now isn't going to make anything change. You can't start distracting yourself worrying about me.

[That only encourages Cole to push Chris again, this time a bit harder.]

You shouldn't be making it more dangerous for yourself by hiding this from us. What if you push yourself into a situation where you get injured past the point of being able to be healed? And no matter what, I'm always going to worry about you.

[ Another stumble, and now Chris is starting to change his stance up. It's defensive, but not passive. If he weren't getting so riled up, he'd see what Cole's doing but Chris is moving right past that and only reacting. ]

I wasn't hiding anything! It's not my fault none of you ever noticed. Which, by the way, is my point. You're making it into a bigger deal than it is, because I can handle it!

[It was easy for Cole to see that Chris wasn't getting the point of what he was saying, so he was going to try a different route than just shouting at him.]

Chris, you hide everything from us. Who you are, what you are, what you were truly doing in the past. Every step of the way, it had to be pulled out of you! You hid this from us because you think we're going to react a certain way, even when it's obvious that I won't!

How the hell do you know?! [ Chris isn't just going to sit and take this. He moves forward, taking the turn to push Cole this time. It's already a shove because he knows for a fact his father wouldn't budge to anything less. ] You don't! You don't know anything about me, because you're not supposed to yet! Now you learn about this and the first thing you do is try to make me stand down because of my faults!

Do you think I have to raise you to know you? [He stumbles back a step from being shoved before surging forward and pushing him back. Two can play this game.] I haven't been just sitting around and ignoring you the entire time you've been around! I've been trying to know you and all you do is keep me away because you're afraid!

[ That push sends Chris two steps back and he rebounds to give another shove. They're basically cornering each other now and he's getting wrapped up in the physicality as much as the actual argument. ]

This isn't about me! This is about Wyatt and saving the world, and I'm not going to let something so stupid keep me from finishing this!

[On the plus side, it still hasn't gotten bad enough for either of them to switch into demon form. But now Cole is going to try pushing Chris hard enough to knock him to the floor.]

Right here and right now, this is about you! You can't hide behind your mission and Wyatt anymore, Chris. There isn't a mission for you to complete here.

[ Moving to shove Cole has put him off kilter, so Chris falls. While he gets up, his hand thrusts out and he pushes enough to send Cole into the wall. They might not be switching forms yet, but that doesn't mean magic isn't going to show up anywhere. ]

Just because we're not at home doesn't mean the mission is over! It just means now we have to get back. Are you giving up on me? This isn't over until I know everything is all right!
