Who: margaery tyrell
Broadcast: fleet wide
Action: the windrose and all around the moon
When: current

[ enter margaery tyrell of the windrose. remember? silks, beautiful curls, too generous of a cleavage for a sixteen year old? queen to be?

today, the pale pink silks are tainted, as well as the usual fair skin with a mixture of dirt, mud, leaves and at least three colors of paint. ]

I do believe I won against the locals in their odd little paint game. I find it quite brilliant if a little bit of a hazard if one is very attached to their clothes.

[ the queen to be seems much more of a brat today ]

I offer a different game of chance. some smallfolk in my realm say that one can tell someone's future and their traits according to the palm of their hands. I was told it is all false but.

[ there is a but with margaery tyrell ]

A guessing game! I shall attempt to read your palm and if three of my guesses are correct, that must be worth a prize. I shall leave it to you to choose what to give me. If I lose, I shall of course be in debt of one prize to my company.

I have heard of fortunes being read through tea leaves, but by a palm? That is new. And enticing.

[Riona smiles at the mess Margaery made of her clothes. Even Highgarden queens-to-be aren't above a bit of sport, it seems, and Riona likes that. Though it's a shame about the dress.]

I would love to hear what you might decipher through my palm.

It was something I learned about after I was brought here. A form of magic, I believe. I drank from a cup of tea and thought about my past and how I pictured my future. When I was done, he looked into the cup and interpreted what he saw from the leaves. It was quite entertaining.

[Riona nods.]

That'd be lovely, though I am amenable to coming to you as well if that is easier.

You could say so. But the answers were very... vague. Along the lines of "change is coming your way" and "a very important decision lies ahead of you". The sort of answers that could be applied to just about anyone.

[She loves how much Margaery seems to like her breathing mask.]

Then I'd be all too happy to indulge you. Are you out and about on the moon?

[Riona throws her head back and laughs.]

Perfect! I would never have guessed such a fate for myself. Thank you kindly, great prophet.

[Though she does feel a bit bad, like she's making fun of Remus, which isn't her intention. More like making fun of Divination itself, as most tells are vague.]

I will be there soon, mask and all.

Hmmm... [A token? That'll be easier said than done.] then my arrival will be a tad delayed. But I will be there soon, token in hand. Wait for me.

[She waves before ending the feed.

As she predicted, it does take her a little while longer than she'd have liked to. But she does arrive on the Caprine some time later. She calls out to Margaery, mask still in place.]

Beautiful? I think most would disagree with you there.

[Riona takes off the mask, as it's redundant here on the ship. As she tucks it under one arm, with her free hand she pulls out a gold coin. On one side is a fierce dog, the other a silhouette of a woman.]

Your token, my lady.

[Riona envies Margaery's ability to openly admit to such. For her, she still struggles with the thought.]

So I have heard. You have my congratulations. [She places the coin in her palm.] And my sympathies.

The coin is called a sovereign where I am from. It is the highest standard of coin in Thedas. I do not have much in the way here of things - besides weapons and armor and clothes. Nothing so lovely as that rose you had with you when you came. But it is a little piece of my home, now yours.

[Riona is glad the gift is so welcomed and liked. She felt it meager, but she had so little else to offer.]

You are too kind, but I am pleased you like it so. I will help you fashion it, if you so need.

It's quite all right. Think of it as money for services rendered, if nothing else. And you'll do more justice by it; with me it would have just sat in a pocket.

[She nods in agreement; their rooms really are drab. On her ship, they pain the outside of their doors, which is fun, but it does nothing to cheer up the room inside.

She takes a seat next to Margaery, leaning back on her arms.]

And I will happily listen.

But I do like some trouble.

[She'll still keep her words in mind, though. perhaps as she gets to know Margaery better, she'll be able to ascertain best when she is kidding and when she isn't.

And ah, that question.

Riona's lips twitch. A part of her wondered if Margaery would ask. She almost didn't say anything, but it would have felt a bit too dishonest. To just say congratulations and pretend that becoming queen is all rainbows and sunshine.]

The life of a monarch is not easy. You're tasked with helping rule an entire country, filled with people of varying needs and demands. I understand you are marrying into it, so I imagine your will be husband will be the go-to for most decisions. Yet, you do not strike me as someone who would be content to have no say in anything that goes on.

I have heard bits and pieces of what is happening in Westeros from a few others here, Sansa included. From what I gather, it's quite an involved matter and I am sure I barely know the surface of it.

[Those who sit on the throne remain a nebulous entity to her, but from what little she has heard of them, they are not good people.]

Good. I am glad you recognize that. In war, it is the commoners who suffer the most. The nobles may lose coin in war, but commoners lose their lives.

[She returns the squeeze.]

Then they clearly do not know you well. But from what I have gathered, you will do fine. Just keep your wits about you and don't lose yourself in the politics and scheming.

Anyone involved in politics and power is in danger of such.

[She thinks of Anora, smart and savvy and diplomatic. And yet, she was willing to side with her father, though he was half crazed and nearly destroyed Ferelden, just so she could stay queen.]

It does not mean you will definitely fall prey to it. Remember who you are and where you came from. Do not hold onto power for power's sake. That's where you'll get into trouble.

Then that is all I can hope for, and what your people can ask for. You'll do well.

[Some will be unhappy with her, but such is the way of things. You cannot please everyone.]

Hopefully we are partaking in said summerwine. [Said with laughter in her voice.]
