Masquerade Mingle

[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

[[ooc: All sections are up now, have fun! A related ooc post is HERE for any questions or plotting you'd like to do.]]

Lioriley! There you are!

[Riona comes hurrying up to her because, no, sorry Lior, you're really not hard to ascertain in the crowd.]

I've been meaning to find you to thank you again for help with my hair. If only I could see it better, but it looks wonderful from what everyone has told me. [She beams] That, and to ask you for a dance, of course.
invigorates: the fuckin' stairs. What an asshole. (I wish I could kick Goofy down)

[ upon hearing her name, the elf spins on her heel to face the other woman, a smile widening on her lips. ]

There is no need to thank me, I quite enjoyed doing it. [ a laugh, almost bashful as the lines across her skin brighten just a little. a hand presses to her chest in a 'who, me?" sort of gesture. ]

I would be honored to dance with you, Riona.

You still deserve all the thanks. I do not know what I would have done otherwise.

[She offers Lior her hand.]

The honor is mine. I will happily escort you, if you're up for a dance now.
invigorates: with your fashion decisions (looks like people are having trouble)

Think nothing of it. [ a dismissive wave of her hand. really, don't thank her anymore she doesn't know what else to say!

she takes the offered hand though, curling slender fingers around riona's. ]

Of course. Lead, and I shall follow.

[Riona happily squeezes her fingers before she leads her out onto the dance floor.]

I do love that dress on you. It's such a gorgeous shade of color.
invigorates: on a Friday night. I can relate (Default)

I appreciate the compliment, Riona. I believe it goes without saying that you look beautiful as well.

[ she beams as she says it, like paying her friend a compliment is the most amazing thing in the world. ]

Thank you kindly. I've never had to buy a dress like this, not without having a seamstress on hand to hem it and make it fit.

[As they reach the dance floor, Riona assumes the proper pose to begin dancing.]

But it seems to have worked out well enough.

[ she chuckles softly, moving into position as well. ]

It suits you just as well. [ the music's starting up, so lioriley begins to move once riona does. who's leading? i don't know. ]

Tell me, how have you been since our last... conversation. [ about alistair. you know. ]

[Riona's smile falters a bit at her question.]

All right, I suppose. I do feel a little better. [This is before she talks with Alistair tonight, where she will walk out definitely feeling not quite all right.] There is much up in the air, but I feel a little more assured I did the right thing, in the long run.
