Hey! Soooooo since we're all stuck here, and going outside on this planet kinda sucks bigtime right now, I've been making it a project of mine to try and learn as much as I can about the different cultures of the other worlds people here are from! Particularly Earth, because there's so many of you! Someone told me the collective noun is "Earthlings"? Anyway.

I've been trawling through the media library, but to be honest, I'm not very good at sitting and reading for long periods of time. So I figured, why not just ask you guys instead?

Tell me one (or more!) thing about your home world that you think is culturally significant. It can be traditional, religious, social, or pop culture is fair game too! After all, it's no fun when people are making pop culture references that fly over my head.

The only rule is that you can't say the same thing as someone else. You ready? Go!

Hi, there! Let's see... Oh! It's not earth, but back on my world everypony works together to make the weather and change the seasons, and the Princesses move the sun and the moon!

What's YOUR world like?

[Ahsoka has seen so many different types of alien, a talking pastel pony doesn't even register on her weird scale. People affecting the weather and planets is MUCH weirder.]

Wait... what? ... How is that possible?

Easy! The pegasi have wings and they can walk on clouds and move them around and they have this HUGE weather factory in Cloudsdale! Unicorns can move stuff too with their magic, that's how the Princesses move the sun and moon, and Earth ponies like me are really good with farming and animals and stuff!

I. ... Okay. Isn't it-- dangerous at all, to be playing around with the weather and the planets like that?

Nnno, why?

[It's okay, Ahsoka, they've been doing this pretty much literally forever, they know what they're doing.]

Well... things like the weather and the sun and the moon usually move on their own. Do they... not, in your world?

No, not really! I mean the stuff in the Everfree Forest grows and lives by itself, but that's REALLY weird!

... Huh. That's. Different?

Anyway, my world... for the most part, things grow and change on their own.

Yours too? Yeah, Finn told me that was a little weird when I first got here! OH! And we don't have any humans in my world either, so Finn's the first one I've ever seen!

Yeah? What's your species called?

We're ponies! Me and Cheese Sandwich are Earth ponies, but there's also unicorns and pegasi!

I see. Well, it's nice to meet you.

I'm Ahsoka, by the way. Ahsoka Tano. Oh, and I'm a togruta, if you were wondering. Though there aren't any others here.

What's a togruta? Is that another kind of human?

A togruta is what I am. Humans don't usually have montrals or lekku, like I do. See?

[When she says "montrals," she points to her horns, and when she says "lekku," she points to the vaguely tail-like protrusions hanging down from them around her face.]

Biologically we're pretty close, though. Like cousins! Almost the same, but different enough.

OHHHH so those are like your mane! Hee, I thought that was just a really pretty headdress or hat or something!

So humans and togruta are kinda like ponies and donkeys or zebras!

I have no idea what those are, but... sure.

There are a bunch of what we call "humanoid" species where I live. Species like togruta, who are human in shape, but slightly too different to be called humans. Like they have different skin colours or patterns, or they have tails, or claws. That kind of thing.

Ohhhh I gotcha! Hee, that's kinda neat! So do you know if any other worlds have "humanoids" like that?

I haven't really met any others so far that aren't from my world.

Oh-- though some worlds have "mutants"? I think that's a terrible name, by the way, not my choice.

Really? What's a mutant, and why's it terrible?

Huh? Oh. Well, it's not terrible, exactly... originally, it just means someone that's mutated-- evolved-- beyond what's typically possible for their species.

But... it can have some pretty negative connotations. Like calling someone a "freak of nature."

Aw, that's really mean. So what do THEY like being called?

Apparently they're sticking with it! I don't know why. Seems kind of weird if you ask me.
