[Sokka can be found in the captain's chair in the Blue Fish, where he's been sulking since he realised his ship is missing a very important person from the crew.]

For anyone who knows her, Katara's gone home. Things are...better back there, so she's gone back to something good at least. Jilly's gone too, she was a great cook :(

[They're going back to their tribe. To see how bad things are there. So some of that is a lie.]

But in other news, Azula's ALSO gone home, so the Blue Fish lockdown is done. People from other ships are freee to visit as they like. I'm keeping the locks for now- just in case- but they're not active right now. So the Blood Drive can come back to here as its base. Yay.

Two terrible blows to the crew, but especially so for you. Is there anything I can do?

[She pauses, wondering whether or not to ask about Katara. In a way, it's pointless in that she can guess the answer, but she does not want to appear unconcerned.]

I... am sorry to see Katara go. And Jilly. Are you all right?

It'll be the best, trust me. An adventure for all of us.

[His smile weakens a little, as he shrugs. He's not really okay. He doesn't do well when he's separated from his sister. ]

It's not the first time I've been here without her. It's just...weird. It's always been the both of us, y'know? I just hope she's actually home and not, I don't know, somewhere else.

Hopefully not with a side of food poisoning.

[The joke feels so half-assed in face of this double loss they're all suffering.]

As do I. Will she be all right back home? [Hopefully better than what Robb has to face.]

Yeah. The last thing I remember, we were heading back to the South Pole. It hasn't been doing so great since the war ended. We were going to see if we could help out any. So we'll see dad and Gran-Gran again. That's...something at least.

Returning to your family and home. That must be quite a gratifying feeling.

[A feeling she'll never really ever know again. Even on her last trip to Highever, the first time back since the Blight ended, it hadn't been the same. Her brother was all that was left, and the castle no longer felt like home.]

Kind of? Guilt is more of the driving force. Things have been hard, and people we met from the South were pretty mad that we'd just gone off and focused on the rest of the world, and didn't go right back to our own people.

But there was a war, wasn't there? That affected the whole world? That is the reason you left, isn't it?

There was. But the war had ended three years ago. We just got...caught up fixing everyone else's problems, helping them rebuild that we didn't realise how much home needed us.

Seems a bit unfair to rely on you two to have to help with everything, though I can understand their consternation to an extent.

True, but we're the, you know, part of the team that saved the world. It's kinda expected of us at this point to make sure things are at least not terrible.

Preeeetty much. I mean that's Aang's literal job, but being part of Team Avatar kinda bring you into that job too.

While I understand that, it's still never fair to place that all on you. People do not grow or learn if they always rely on the few who have proven themselves.

Trust me, we know. We're trying to teach people to be more self sufficient as they go. It's just hard, rebuilding after the Fire Nation destroyed nearly everything. I can't blame them for wanting someone they know they can rely on as a crutch.

No, and that makes it harder, doesn't it? Knowing it, understanding it, but still being burdened by it. [A beat.] I'm sorry you're in such a position.

It's okay. I don't regret any of it. If we hadn't of found Aang, done what we did- well, our world would be a very different place right now.
