[It was nearly a month and he'd taken time to visit each of the ships at least once, just to satisfy his curiosity, if nothing else. He'd even met back up with Kitty like he'd promised, now he'd just need to find time to catch Jim, shouldn't be too hard.

Today, however, he's sticking to his own ship. If he's going to be here a while, he ought to know those with him better. So he aims for humor. As he finds each new face on the ship, he goes up to them, ready with a smile.]

I have a joke for you!

[He was supposed to be the ship's healer, and there was no better medicine than laughter.]

[Later, he could be found back in the med bay, but instead of simply lounging around as he usually did, he decided to amuse himself. He'd been careful about his magic for a long time, it didn't seem like anything was going to come after him here, so why not let loose a little?

Anyone wandering nearby, might feel a faint static in the air, like the feeling in the air before a storm. They might also notice a little flash and burning smell coming from the room as well.]

[Vash's head tilts back into uproarious laughter. Yup. He liked that one.] Then congratulations, you're a hot lady with a banana now.!

Because they have A-peel! [Even if Anders doesn't find the joke appealing, Vash laughs at his own joke.]

A nervous wreck!! [He laughs. Having not heard that one before. A desert planet isn't the best for coming up with water jokes.]

Do you know why the old man fell into the second well?

[He's entirely too pleased by this conversation. It seems his attempt to make others laugh and feel better has been turned around on him and he can't say he has much to complain about that.]

Did he not like the looks of the first one?

Nope. It's because he didn't see two well!

[He grins, far too pleased by these jokes.]

What can I say? Life is too short [long] to not have a good laugh now and then. A good joke can make for a great day.

[ Frankly she isn't sure what possessed her to seek him out. A sudden and hopefully fleeting fancy? The desire to silently stab herself with invisible needles dealing with a man she as much wants to hit as she does hug? It's weird, complicated, but she decides not to think on it much when she slips onto the Three Twins as casually as she might walk into a bar.

Not a care in the world this one, not even when the flash goes off and the smell of burning wafts into her nose, she pokes her head through the med lab doorway regardless. ]

[He wasn't expecting her, or anyone really, but especially not her. But he was hardly going to turn her away.]

The wall. It needed more character.

[He zapped the poor wall, a little higher this time to avoid hitting her, and gestured to it.]

How about it? Feeling randomly destructive today?

[ He looks good, which... which is definitely good. Healthy, not as pale as she is used too. It stings a little, makes her stomach twist uncomfortably but she swallows it, pushes it down.

Instead she smiles at scorched wall, slipping into the room after the latest zap. ]

Always. [ Lazily she motions at his additions. ] I like it, very artistic.

[He beams at her praise as though she'd just listed it as a masterpiece.]

Why, thank you. I was going for a 'smokey' look, but I believe I simply got 'charred' which is fine enough, I suppose. Nothing's perfect.

It's certainly better than the same plain white walls all over, it's like being in a brighter solitary confinement, except the door actually opens which makes it better, but so will this.

[He gestures to the walls.]

Whichever one pleases you, Lady Hawke, it is your canvas.

[ Lady Hawke? She cannot help but snort at that, amusement near impossible to hide as she settles in beside him. ]

I'm rather fonder of the charred look, it has a sort of character you can't really find in the smokey look.

[ Is she being serious? Is she joking? Who knows! ]

[He snorts himself and smiles at her. Ah, good, a kindred spirit could definitely be found here.]

Ah, yes, I can see what you mean now that you mention it. Yes, I think I like charred much more. Charred or smokey, however, I think you'd agree with me that they both have much more character than the icy look or whatever such nonsense.
