004 - My Funny Valentine

[Okay, so the date's wrong, but Sokka in his hyperactive state didn't pay much attention to the details anyway. What was important to him, was that there was a celebration honouring the one you loved and that needed to be addressed.

So, he waves excitedly at the camera, trying to focus it on...an odd 'statue' in the cargo bay of the Blue Fish. He'd considered putting it together on one of the moons, but that would have just been weird, so in the ship he went. It doesn't really look like anything, except for a weird blob made of of bits of melted metal. For some reason, it's holding a fan.]

HEY GUYS!!! I know that Vahl-in-tynes thing is ...soon? Soon! So I made this statue for the lady of my heart, Suki!

[It doesn't look like a lady. It doesn't even look human.]

So Suki is a pretty awesome gal. She kicks butt all the time, and usually does it with just a fan, isn't that amazing? She's part of this all girls warrior group and she could kick all your butts with her hands tied behind her back. AND she's beautiful and smart to boot!

[He winks at the camera] Baby, I know you can't see this, but I miss you and I really hope you're okay, I'll be back before you know it.

[He could have stopped this. This all could have been prevented. But he didn't. He let this pass. Had it really been the right choice?]

[He still isn't sure. Instead, he's in the corner of the cargo bay by the exercise equipment- watching this...whatever this is occur. Also trying to figure out how that blob is supposed to be a girlfriend.]

[Either way, he's lost for words. Is this his fault?]

[This is totally his fault, but Sokka looks happy. Still crazy, but happy. He grins like a lunatic in Allen's direction. ]

I really think I captured her this time around.

Yes, it...really seems to be full of...spirit?

I think so too! It really has that epic warrior gal thing going for it.

[He smiles. Right. Nod and smile]

It sounds like you're very lucky to have her.

I am super lucky. I'd be pretty much lost without her.

[Oh. Ow. Hello heartache, he IS lost without her. Without everyone, really, he's just wokring hard on PRETENDING. He takes a breath, and the excess energy pulls him along. Good, he needs to keep with it, if he's going to get them all out of here.]

She's pretty special.

[Oh no Sokka. Even if he's trying to put up a front, Allen catches it and he feels a tug of empathy for him. He knows what it's like to miss people.]

[So he'll reach over and put his hand on Sokka's shoulder, and gives a reassuring smile]

Don't worry. You'll see her again, I'm sure of it.

[Sokka returns the smile. He'll be fine. It'll all be fine. It's a thought that keeps him chugging along. ]

I'm sure, too. Nothing would keep her down.
