When: 3/10-3/14

[ it's probably unfortunate that the network is left open and broadcasting, because tadashi awakes with a jolt and a gasp and sits up fast in his bunk on the marsiva. he isn't sure where he is, but he knows this wasn't where he was, and it's clear there's some mental scrambling going on as he desperately tries to slot in place the very few pieces of the puzzle he has. ]

Hiro? Guys - what's going on?

[ and until the shuffle, tadashi will be found... pretty much investigating everything he can about the marsiva. he might not have an engineer augment, but he still finds it all pretty ridiculously fascinating. if he's not too absorbed into whatever he's doing, he's equally likely to flag any friendly-looking faces down.

When: Now

[The woman on the broadcast is smiling contentedly and seems reluctant to wake up. She murmurs happily and turns over on her bunk, obviously in the midst of a pleasant dream, or relishing a happy memory.

Then her eyes snap open, and she slowly turns... takes in her surroundings... and a few realizations hit. 1. This isn't Atlantis. 2. This also isn't San Francisco. 3. Nobody else is here- Rodney, John, Teyla, Ronon, Carson... not even Mr. Woolsey or Amelia.]

... oh. Oh, crap. Don't tell me the wormhole drive did this... [That's more to herself than anyone else, because she doesn't yet realize she's being watched. Heedless, she scrambles to stand upright, touching an earpiece on her right ear to activate a radio, and a brief burst of static can be heard.]

Dr. McKay, this is Dr. Keller. Please come in. [Tap. Tap.] Rodney? Are you there? [Tap. Nothing. Okay, try not to panic.] Colonel Sheppard, this is Dr. Keller, come in. Mr. Woolsey? Teyla? If anyone on Atlantis can hear me, please respond... [Nothing again. She looks down at herself, finally finding the little communicator clipped to her jacket pocket. OK, that definitely wasn't there before. She lifts it up to her face, examining it curiously, poking at the screen.] OK, can anybody hear me at all?

He waves. He's getting good at this being on TV stuff!]

Good evening! This is apparently my office!

[He swings the camera around, showing off a matching overstuffed tartan armchair that is absolutely hideous. He camera turns back to him.]

...er. which is to say...I am officially open for business! No, not the books, those are mine. Er...I was going to offer my services as a professional guide, of sorts. You come to me, I listen, and I give advice. My inbox is always open, as is my office. I, er, keep odd hours...

Who: Krista Kingsley
Broadcast: Video, to the whole network!
Action: Bishop, if applicable...
When: Right now!

[your resident jaded teenage goth is looking particularly cheery today! soft-spoken as usual, but pretty excited about something! she's holding up her communicator so that everyone can see the inside of her personal office--the only perk of being a Personnel Officer.]

Hey guys! So, Chris just gave me the best idea... I know that some of us are already stocking up on as many books as we can get our hands on while we're near civilization, and I've already got like, three people I'm going to end up swapping reading with, but what about this.

[she swings around to show the desk and couch, showing the space.] I've got this room, right? Part of whatever my augment's got going on... I could turn it into a library! You guys can shuttle books over to the Bishop when you're done reading them, and then anyone can check them out.

[she starts listing things off on her fingers...] I can catalog them, sort them by topic, make a system so we know which books are going where... Maybe keep stuff like blueprints and maps, too, so that it can be accessed from one place. Oh! And I was thinking of making physical copies of all the network entries and stuff that's stored in the ship computers, in case, I don't know, the network becomes irreversibly corrupted and we need to look up old shit.

[she's so excited. she's so excited. it's probably boring archival work, but she looks like a kid in a candy store.]

In the reverse, if someone out there can make me some kind of a scanner, maybe we can create digital copies of all these books, so I could just send them out to the ship computers if there's a request. Like, someone could just say, hey, do you have anything about giant space wasps? And I'd be like, bam, files sent. That'd be so cool.

Who: Zoe Hange
Broadcast: Yes, fleetwide video
Action: If you're on the Red Fish
When: 2/16 early afternoon

[Tap-tap-tappity goes Hange's finger on the mic, and the speakers pop-pop-pop in response. There's a moment's pause, and then Hange flicks the setting from audio to video and grins at the camera.]

Good afternoon, everyone! New arrivals and parties being planned, I see everyone's keeping busy. Good, good! The fastest way to get bored is to give yourself nothing to do!

Speaking of that - I've been working on a little something I'd like to rope the whole fleet into, if ships are willing! It'd be to the benefit of all of us, hopefully, and I think it would boost morale around here too. We aren't meant to be crammed in these cans with no sky and no trees around. So!

[Up pop some drawings, in front of the screen. It looks like a vertical setup of... troughs? Deep troughs with some other stuff thrown in there. Hange's voice continues cheerfully from behind her papers.]

What I'd like to do is get us microfarming! I took as many samples as I could from that forest, so we have some stock to start with. I'm looking especially at producing edible plants and those with medicinal purposes! Vertical arrangement would be more space-efficient then horizontal. I'm hoping to start things off on the Red Fish, and if we see success, build similar setups in the ships of those who are interested! One of our young engineers seems confident he can set us up with growlights, so that'd mitigate the lack of sunlight we see on these ships. And I know we have some people around who are excellent at working with plants!

[She drops the papers, grins sunnily at the camera again.]

Of course, they'd require tending to. That's why I'm broaching the idea to everyone!

[Okay, so the date's wrong, but Sokka in his hyperactive state didn't pay much attention to the details anyway. What was important to him, was that there was a celebration honouring the one you loved and that needed to be addressed.

So, he waves excitedly at the camera, trying to focus it on...an odd 'statue' in the cargo bay of the Blue Fish. He'd considered putting it together on one of the moons, but that would have just been weird, so in the ship he went. It doesn't really look like anything, except for a weird blob made of of bits of melted metal. For some reason, it's holding a fan.
]

HEY GUYS!!! I know that Vahl-in-tynes thing is ...soon? Soon! So I made this statue for the lady of my heart, Suki!

[It doesn't look like a lady. It doesn't even look human.]

So Suki is a pretty awesome gal. She kicks butt all the time, and usually does it with just a fan, isn't that amazing? She's part of this all girls warrior group and she could kick all your butts with her hands tied behind her back. AND she's beautiful and smart to boot!

[He winks at the camera] Baby, I know you can't see this, but I miss you and I really hope you're okay, I'll be back before you know it.

[All things considered, Cass is taking this weird as fuck field trip pretty well. She had learned that people could go up into space, and the very basics of what space is. It's been something that fascinated her from an early age and now, any misgivings about how safe it may or may not be are overwritten by how exciting this is.

She's standing up against a window with both hands on it, peering out into the vastness of space with an expression that can only be called wonder on her face.

She's also wearing a skin tight batsuit as she does this, like it's totally normal to walk around in something like that. The cowl is off though. Who needs secret identities when you've already been kidnapped?]

Good--[a quick glance at the console]--afternoon, space cadets. Engineer Hiro Hamada, reporting for duty on the SS Bishop.

Gotta say, I'm not exactly thrilled to be here, but hey. I don't get a choice, right?

Oh, our hearts! [the woman's voice is overflowing with joy today, coming in crystal-clear.]

Our hearts, our hearts! Our poor, delicate hearts!

You've really outdone yourselves this time, dear passengers. Between the dramas that have unfurled upon the forest paths, to the heartfelt encounters this past week, you've had us all on the edge of our seats!

[cheering in the background. warm, cartoonish cheering. it's still odd and distant though, barely filtering through.]

I highly suggest that you all visit your local Personnel officers. They are there to comfort and guide you in these trying times. Everyone needs someone to lean on, a shoulder to cry on, don't they?

[she takes a deep, satisfied breath, shuffles some papers.]

As for the Shuffle this week... my, there was quite a problem with the signals this month, wasn't there? Let's not dwell on old news by covering everything we've missed, though-- people have come and gone, the Fleet continues to drift.

This week, however... one face has left our ranks and five have arrived to fill the gap! The SS First Breath is once more full of life, with Captain Drake proudly at the helm! And it looks like the SS Bloodsport has a new First Mate stepping up to help guide the crew. How very noble.

[she claps her hands together--or something else causes a sharp pop of sound.]

You are all doing wonderfully! Ratings are at an all-time high! And next week... there will be interviews, so make sure that you show up dressed in your best!

Keep up the good work. The worlds are watching!

ooc: everyone in the fleet will find that they'd gotten a significant boost to earnings this week... and anyone in various forms of emotional distress will find that they're earning much more for a few days. Atroma is proud of you all!

Honestly, Cecil has no idea what she's been doing for the last month, but she likes to imagine she went home, even if she can't remember anything. Needless to say though, she's not happy to have been moved and her mood is making her feel pretty anti-social until she can clear her head. The sterile smell lingering on the Marsiva doesn't help much with that though.

It's a good thing Atroma clearly has other plans, right?
