[ There is little more jarring than being suddenly snatched from your home, dropped into a new potentially highly dangerous universe with a bunch of strangers, going to sleep one night only to wake up a month later in a completely different place than you fell asleep.

Honestly, Cecil has no idea what she's been doing for the last month, but she likes to imagine she went home, even if she can't remember anything. Needless to say though, she's not happy to have been moved and her mood is making her feel pretty anti-social until she can clear her head. The sterile smell lingering on the Marsiva doesn't help much with that though.

It's a good thing Atroma clearly has other plans, right? The network panel nearest to her is broadcasting her little brooding session as she stares out a viewport at the stars, dressed in the red and ivory finery of her kingdom — mantle, crown, and all — completely still and silent, unaware her return is currently being announced regardless of how she feels about it. ]

[ It takes her a handful of seconds to realize someone is talking to her and about another handful to realize where this person is. Once she does though, she sighs and strides over to the panel, forcing a sheepish smile to her face. ]

[ A strange statement from one dressed like a fairytale king, that one. But she does turn to scan the room, spots the other half of this conversation, and gives him a small wave from where she's standing. She makes no move to join him though. ]

[Nel channel-surfs a lot now. and on one certain trip through the signals, he catches sight of a face that he hasn't seen in a while. ...and it doesn't exactly dawn on him that he hasn't seen her in a while until right then.]

Oh-- hey!

[sitting up straight, leaning closer to the screen.]

Wow, what are you all dressed up for?

[ See, this is what she wasn't ready for, but since the news is out, it'd be rude to pretend she isn't who she is. Besides that, it's Nel and she has missed him, despite her inner embarrassment about what happened between them the last time they spent an extended amount of time alone together. ]

Nel... are you doing well?

[at least he's not acting one bit different. despite their last encounter, despite her being mysteriously absent for weeks, he picks up exactly where he left off. like they'd just spoken yesterday.]

Uh-huh. ...Man, where'd you get a crown?

[ It is certainly comforting, in a way, but she almost thinks she would rather be confronted with that rather than with the questions he's asking. She really should have taken off the crown at least if she wanted to avoid this sort of situation. Unfortunately, she didn't really know where to put it since she knows the Marsiva arrangement isn't permanent and she didn't want to risk losing it. ]

[ Uhhhhh, well, it's kind of hard to ignore familiar disembodied voices when they seemingly come out of nowhere.

Once she realizes what's going on, she sighs with exasperation and rather quickly takes off her crown. ]

[ She used to hide her regalia when she was on the Wonderduck and during her brief stint on the Red Fish, so she's not surprised to find Hange a little surprised. ]

It's obvious that I did vanish, but no, I have no memory of what happened. I don't know what they did with me for the last month. One moment I was on the ship, the next I was waking up here on the Marsiva.

[so... beautiful! she had seen Cecil on the network before, but never actually spoken to her. But to see someone going through the same thing she went through a month ago, she can't help but want to reach out]

[ Again? Cecil turns abruptly and narrows her eyes at the nearest comms board, her glare rather accusatory, but once she gets close to it, her expression changes to one of sincere sheepishness. ]

Yes, hello, my apologies. It seems the communications systems around me are being intentionally fussy today.

There's no need to apologize. I was going to inform you that it was on, but... I'm sorry, it seems like you were already informed.

[she smiles sheepishly, in a 'I feel you' kind of way] Sometimes it seems like these things have a will of their own, doesn't it?

Well, we know our keepers certainly do have a will of their own, so it should come to no surprise that these things happen.

[ She sighs deeply, shuts her eyes, and shakes her head. ]

And yet, like much that happens here, it still catches us off guard.
