009 [Video]
Who: Sokka and YOU!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Deep in Savvy territory - in every sense of the word.
When: Today!
[If there's one thing that can be said about Sokka, is that when he decides to put his all into something, he really goes for it. He'd originally headed to Savvy to try and take his mind off Beverly. That there's still been no sign of her. Not even a whisper.
Turns out Savvy was really good for taking his mind off it. The Savvy people were his people. The weird tendency he has for thinking so far out of the box that he was in a different planet than the box is something that's cherished here. And Sokka really does love being appreciated.
He hasn't forsaken the usual Water Tribe Blue he wears, though he has accented his outfit with a green bandanna and belt. The people seem to forgive his spirit-esque faux-pas with his outfit for his endless offerings of actually-useful inventions and animal traps. He's grinning at the video from where he's sitting in one of the workshops. He's working on something that looks very explosive.
You can tell because it has "warning: explosive" stamped on the side of it.]
Guys, have you checked out the Savvy guys yet? Everyone here is amazing! I mean, aside from the green, and the lack of water, they would absolutely be Water Tribe people.
[He grins and waves a hand at the explodey thing.]
They even let me work in their workshops all the time! These people. [He lets out a fond sniffle] They're my people.
Also the best, so Spirit and and Moxxy can go suck on a penguinotter.

Action
[Just as Sokka finishes his broadcast, the bell rings to signal a new customer, and the shopkeep waves heartily at the... tiny pink pony coming through the door!]
Hiya, Martill! How're you today?
[Engage the super strong tiny horse fiend, y/n?]
Action
Oh. It's you.
Re: Action
Hello, Sokka. How're you today?
[Might as well try to be nice since the parts she's looking for are all around right where he's standing. Who knows, maybe he'll be civil today.]
Action
Pretty good, I guess. There's neat stuff here.
[Small talk with a horse. This is his life now. ]

[Actual conversation with a horse. What do now?]

Really? I don't think I could pick just one side, even if wanted to! Savvy has lots of engineering parts and medical supplies, Moxie has LOTS of stuff to see and do and great food, and I don't think ANYBODY can surpass Spirit's sweet in sheer sumptuousness!

...Whiiich of course you won't use because your a herbivore shut up, Sokka.
no subject
No no, that's okay. Thanks for trying, really!
no subject
Look. I'm sorry. I'm not really...great at adjusting to anything...new? Or what I can;t explain with pure science. It's a thing. I wouldn't take it personally.
no subject
It's okay, I just had a problem with you saying you'd be okay eating non-human people!
no subject
[Don't comment on the weird name. Don't do it. Don't screw this up. ]
Oh...right. That. Well. What do you count as people? Where do you draw the line, exactly? Because where I come from, animals aren't exactly people.
[Except Appa and maybe Momo. Maybe.]

But even then a LOT of us are herbivores, so the whole "meat" thing wasn't really a thing until I came here, but it's okay since you humans NEED it.
[Who even knows in regards to how they're able to keep cats and owls and alligators alive, though.
Also, fair warning, Qing's promised himself to break the face of anybody that disillusions her.]

So. You have animals. As well as...people-animals. I don't really get where the difference lies?? Is it the hooves??? But dragons don't have hooves.
[Wow, he so wants to ask about that, but he will save it for another time, even he knows not to step his foot in it a second time. ]
Well, not all humans eat meat. I got a friend back home who's a vegetarian. No meat ever. His whole people were like that. None of the Air Nomads ate meat.
no subject
[Her NICE, HONEST friend Qing!]
no subject
What? There's plenty of protein in plants. Potatoes, kale, stuff like that. And he could eat like...grains and stuff. He got by just fine without meat. I mean, like, the monks apparently got to live until they were super old, so it didn't seem to cause them any trouble.
Maybe your friend didn't realise that?
[Sounds fake, but whatever. ]
no subject
[It's VERY clear from her face and tone she REALLY hopes so. It's... not likely though. Qing's smart, and Pinkie KNOWS he's smart.]
Buuut if your friend doesn't need to, then YOU don't need to, right? Why do you still hunt and-- well, kill living things and eat them?
no subject
I eat meat because I like meat. And also because where I grew up? There's hardly any plants. It's in the middle of ice and snow, all year round. If we didn't eat meat, we really would die.
Here? Well, again, I like meat. Meat's the best.

Why would-- You-- YOU-- You JERK!!! GRRRR! [Stomp stomp STOMP over the cashier.] Keep the change, Martill, I'm OUTTA here!
[SHE'S got bigger fish to NOT FRY LIKE A JERK!]
no subject
[He's honestly kind of surprised, after he made an effort and everything, wow. ]
...Yeah. Sure?? Bye then?? Crazy freaking horse.
