[The first clue Vash had was waking up and finding out he had been made Captain. That seemed odd. He hadn't been captain for more than a couple days before Ino put in the request when this cycle first began. It was confirmed when he checked Ino's room and she was not just in deep sleep but gone completely.

He finds the letter left for him and smiles. He really isn't sure what happens when people leave. Most seem to think they go home. He likes that idea and hopes it's true. Alright, his first responsibility as captain. Let people know.

Being captain sucks.

He'll find the crew of the Three Twins personally and speak to them one on one if they haven't already found out themselves. Then he should next tell... oh man. This was not going to be easy.]

[Vash wishes he knew all of Ino's friends. So he could let them all know one on one. With no one else he could think of and the ones with gifts having been notified Vash let's everyone else know.]

Hello Fleet. I'm sorry to say that Ino has been returned home. [It's nicer to say than vanished. True or not.] So I have been made captain of the SS Three Twins. She was a great Captain and I know she will be missed. I'm sorry everyone.

It's alright, Pinkie. From what she told me, sounds like she has a good life to go back to.

[Nod nod.] That's... good then. And hey, maybe she'll come back someday? I know Belthazar and Hiro were gone for a while.

[Two names that Vash just had to have one on ones with. That brings a bit of a sting to his heart, but his face doesn't show it.]

That's true. They are both actually very close with Ino too. Hopefully remembering that will help them.

I'm doing alright. I won't say I'm happy, but I know she'll be okay no matter where she is now.

[There's some extra sadness beyond the usual bittersweetness of parting, though. It's alright to go home and be happy, but the knowledge that Ino might not remember any of this when she goes back. Something SHE'S worried about should she ever go home.

But bringing this up would just make Vash feel WORSE, not better. So Pinkie shakes her head clear and tries a small smile.]

But yeah, let me know if you need anything, okay?

[You know, he could use a distraction.]

Actually, I was thinking of heading to the garden that they're trying to grow. Maybe see some of the gardening and give it a try. Want to join me?

Ooooh which garden and which they? That sounds great; I could always go for some more gardening tips!

Hey, Vash. No, not at all, the garden's ready whenever you are!

[And some soup, thank goodness for a good soup pot and a reliable stove element.]

Great! I'll fly over now. [And a few moments later there is a Vash coming aboard!]

Hey there, Pinkie! Thanks for the invitation!

[The second he pops out of the shuttle he's getting a big, deep hug.]

Hey, Vash. Thanks for coming over.

No, thank you for letting me come over and see your garden!

[He returns the hug. It was nice knowing there were still people he cared about in the fleet.]

[Any time; soon he might have to return the favor. For now, though, gardens! Which are already SUPER visible over the short pink pony, a big wooden bed taking up a quarter of a cargo bay. It's even lit with heat and UV lamps, angled so they're also warming a pile of smooth, flat rocks.]

[Hopefully Pinkie won't find it rude that Vash hurries his steps slightly ahead of her. Excited to see what plants she's growing.]

This is amazing! That you can grow all this in these ships. [He knows the first crew he lived with had a whole room, but it was a whole room dedicated to housing plant life. These ships hadn't seemed capable to him at first.]
