[The first clue Vash had was waking up and finding out he had been made Captain. That seemed odd. He hadn't been captain for more than a couple days before Ino put in the request when this cycle first began. It was confirmed when he checked Ino's room and she was not just in deep sleep but gone completely.
He finds the letter left for him and smiles. He really isn't sure what happens when people leave. Most seem to think they go home. He likes that idea and hopes it's true. Alright, his first responsibility as captain. Let people know.
Being captain sucks.
He'll find the crew of the Three Twins personally and speak to them one on one if they haven't already found out themselves. Then he should next tell... oh man. This was not going to be easy.]
Private to Hiro
Hiro. Are you there? It's Vash. I need to speak to you.
[Because he at least deserves to be told in person one on one. In fact everyone who who had a gift left behind will get a private message from Vash.]
Private to those getting gifts
Hello, this is Vash of the SS Three Twins. I need to speak with you please. [If Vash knows you it will likely be a little less formal.]
Open to all
[Vash wishes he knew all of Ino's friends. So he could let them all know one on one. With no one else he could think of and the ones with gifts having been notified Vash let's everyone else know.]
Hello Fleet. I'm sorry to say that Ino has been returned home. [It's nicer to say than vanished. True or not.] So I have been made captain of the SS Three Twins. She was a great Captain and I know she will be missed. I'm sorry everyone.

So it takes awhile for him to respond, after he has a chance to tell Crowley of the news and wrap his mind around it all]
...Thank you for telling everyone.

It's the least I can do.

So much for my short-lived delusions of grandeur, I suppose.

So he laughs at Ravi's disappointment.]
I don't know. Try to eat just those gels for about three weeks and I think you'll see how important cooks are.
no subject
Oh, I wouldn't get your hopes up. I wasn't exactly known for my culinary skills at any point in my life. You might have been better off with the gels.
no subject
Even just being here the ships will update and give us some better cooking supplies either way.

But he's hungry, so if Ravi ever happens on the kitchen, there he'll find Jon Snow munching somewhat morosely on what looks kind of like a stick of tofu. At his feet are two direwolf pups, one grey and one white, both happily asleep, for once.
Jon glances up, blinks.]
You're new. [Obviously.]

Give the man a prize.
[It comes out sounding more strained than he'd intended.]
no subject
You'll get used to it in time. [He waves a hand to indicate the kitchen, the corridors, the ship in general. He's picked up on the strained tone and, gone straight to the wrong conclusion.] The fleet, I mean. And to--whatever augment they gave you.

Anders finds him after very little time searching and he offers a gentle smile and a hand to shake.]
Hello, there. You must be Ravi. I'm Anders, the Three Twins Healer.
no subject
Hey, nice to meet you! Any chance you want to trade jobs? I've got a degree in medicine and everything, and I swear it wasn't from one of those online college scams!
[His tone is light though, since he's not really expecting Anders to switch with him.]
no subject
Not a chance. No offense, but I'll take that to mean you use knives and 'blood transfusions' and those archaic practices. I'll feel better knowing those under my care don't have to suffer that.
[No offense, but that definitely sounded offensive. He tries to fix it a little.]
However, I'd more than appreciate your help whenever calamity inevitably strikes this fleet, I still have my limits. We had a dragon attack, recently, for example.

That's true. They are both actually very close with Ino too. Hopefully remembering that will help them.

Action
Hey.
I'm sorry for your friend. But I'm sure you'll also make a good captain.
Action
The fact that he's chosen today to clean the weapon when he actually did it a couple weeks ago and is being extra thorough about it is completely coincidental. He totally planned to do this today. Been planning on it for weeks.
Or at least, the way he smiles like nothing is wrong and looks up when Anders walks in would lead someone to possibly believe that.]
Thanks. I wouldn't be a very good captain if the crew didn't think I could do it. I promise I'm not too bad in an emergency.
And thanks, but I know Ino will be okay. [Wherever she is. He really hopes it's home.]
Action
[He doesn't know how Vash knows that with such certainty, but Anders can tell he means it and that's good enough.
You can't bullshit the bullshitter, he suspects it'd be the same if he'd had cause to try and lie to Vash yet, but he suspected his friend wasn't as a hundred percent fine as he was letting on. What Anders couldn't tell just yet was whether it was something he ought to push on or if it was only a slightly not okay thing.
It was clearly an issue he needed to sort out as the ship's healer.
Anders sat on the floor nearby and watched Vash work. Guns were still weird to him. Weird and dangerous, but efficient, he'd give them that.]
What about you? Will you be all right? I admit, I don't know how close you two were, but losing a friend is always hard.
Action
[Then his hands go back to their work.] But I was a drifter back home. I wanted to see the world and meet as many people as possible. So I'm use to goodbyes. I just usually have a bit more control of when and how I get to say goodbye is all. So, really, I'm okay.

Vash? What's going on?
Re: video; private
I have a bit of bad news. Ino has been returned home. I'm sorry. She- ah, she left a few things for you.
[Hopefully blunt is the best way to handle this.]

Stefan takes a deep breath, the wind clearly knocked out of his sails, but his thoughts immediately drift towards Allen. Towards the one guy who'd be far more affected than anyone else here.]
She - she did? [He'll latch onto that, rather than the idea of Ino leaving.] Thanks for letting me know. I'll uh, I'll drop by in a few minutes.
