[The first clue Vash had was waking up and finding out he had been made Captain. That seemed odd. He hadn't been captain for more than a couple days before Ino put in the request when this cycle first began. It was confirmed when he checked Ino's room and she was not just in deep sleep but gone completely.

He finds the letter left for him and smiles. He really isn't sure what happens when people leave. Most seem to think they go home. He likes that idea and hopes it's true. Alright, his first responsibility as captain. Let people know.

Being captain sucks.

He'll find the crew of the Three Twins personally and speak to them one on one if they haven't already found out themselves. Then he should next tell... oh man. This was not going to be easy.]

Private to Hiro

Hiro. Are you there? It's Vash. I need to speak to you.

[Because he at least deserves to be told in person one on one. In fact everyone who who had a gift left behind will get a private message from Vash.]

Private to those getting gifts

Hello, this is Vash of the SS Three Twins. I need to speak with you please. [If Vash knows you it will likely be a little less formal.]

Open to all

[Vash wishes he knew all of Ino's friends. So he could let them all know one on one. With no one else he could think of and the ones with gifts having been notified Vash let's everyone else know.]

Hello Fleet. I'm sorry to say that Ino has been returned home. [It's nicer to say than vanished. True or not.] So I have been made captain of the SS Three Twins. She was a great Captain and I know she will be missed. I'm sorry everyone.
arfvader: (i ulna want to be with you)

[Ravi just laughs.] I'll be sure to count you out.

So do I get the grand tour of my new home? Or are you going to delegate that task to someone else, Captain?

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!
arfvader: it's a gull bladder (if you see an organ flying overhead)

[Ravi engages in the tour in an animated fashion, genuinely rapt with interest at the things this small ship has to offer. But when he reaches the cockpit take in the view, he lets out a low whistle of appreciation.]

Pretty bloody gorgeous, if you ask me. You'd think I'd be tired of it already but... [He gestures helplessly towards the vastness separated from them by a seemingly thin layer of plexiglass.]
arfvader: because he's got nerve (why is the spinal column so audacious?)

[personal profile] arfvader 2016-09-27 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Two years! That's a long time to be away from home. Tell me, do they happen to give "vacations" here? Because the last place I got stuck in at least had the decency to grant us that.
arfvader: (i never metatarsal i didn't like)

[personal profile] arfvader 2016-09-27 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
So it's some kind of hibernation or cryo-sleep? That's interesting.
arfvader: with a step bladder (how do you climb a body?)

[personal profile] arfvader 2016-09-28 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I can promise that no matter how bad the food I prepare turns out to be, it will never be poisoned. So there's that!
arfvader: (sphincter is an asshole)

How do I say this... YES! Absolutely! 100%!

So no evasive maneuvers?

[Ravi plunks down into the chair with the giddy delight of an eight year-old.]

So? What do I do first!
arfvader: because they were cutaneous (why were the nerves attracted?)

[personal profile] arfvader 2016-10-03 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Ravi tries to follow those instructions, he really does, but his excitement means everything goes a little less gently than he anticipated.]

... is the engine supposed to make that noise?
arfvader: because my heart skipped a beat (are you a mitral valve prolapse?)

[personal profile] arfvader 2016-10-03 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, no problem, I can totally handle this!

[And... he is? It's a bit jerky and he's probably driving like a little old lady, but the point is he is flying a spaceship.]

[Ravi is having a grand old time!]

I gather this is pretty similar to flying the shuttles as well? In case I want to take a spin around to other places.

Nah, no one from home. But I think I can safely say I've made some new friends! Plus there's a couple of engagements I'd like to keep. But I'll see if I can get this cooking thing sorted before I blast off around in space.
