I'd love recommendations. How familiar are you with the menu?

Very! I have not tasted it myself, of course, because, well-

[He gestures at himself. ]

But I have seen others eat them, and I am good at judging based on their expressions. Would you like a larger or smaller meal? So I can narrow it down a little.

That's fair, I think. Let's say dinner—;I brought an appetite.

[She smiles faintly as she answers, distant but not detached, encouraging his suggestions.]

[His own smile is very bright, he takes a great amount of joy in this, and it shows. ]

The goulash is delicious, though I would recommend the pizza, too. It is named after a wonderful person, and its flavour matches that.

Whatever you want, toppings wise. Well...vegetable or meat. I hear people sometimes eat little fish on them??? But we do not have them.

No, I'd imagine not. Not here, anyway.

[Giving the candlestick a thoughtful look then, she asks:]

If you could have one of them, which would it be?

[He really doesn't get it, but then, he doesn't really get PIZZA. ]

I suppose, if I could, I would pick one with the beef. It always looks extremely delicious when it comes out of the oven. Perhaps with a little tomato and spices?

I'll keep that in mind. It does sound good, at least.

It really does, and it certainly looks that way.

How about the goulash? Many people order it? I admit, I'm curious.

It is not as popular as the pizza, but I am sure once word gets around, it will become more so. Probably something that will become much sought after if we end up somewhere cold, where something warm and hearty is needed, no?

So the deciding factor might be the climate, hm? Seems fair enough.

Since we're not somewhere cold at the moment, how about the pizza.

That would be my guess, people, they want to feel warm and cosy when it's cold outside. In my experience anyway.

[He smiles, nodding. ]

But of course! What topping would you like, mademoiselle?

I get the feeling you're not cold too often?

[Between being on fire and being meltable. Though the two things taken together raises some questions Natasha opts not to ask.]

Let's say vegetable. Not that the beef doesn't sound good, but have to enjoy the fresh food when we can get it.

I don't really feel anything like that any more, I am afraid. I am just wax and brass. I remember what it is like, though, that will have to be close enough, no?

[If there's any tenseness to that, he does his best to cover it up with a smile and a little too light of a tone. It's fine. He's fine. This is fine. ]

True, we have to make the most of what we have now. I will inform the chef. Is there anything you would like to drink, while you wait?

[Natasha has to do a little extra work to read Lumiere's face, but it's not hard to get the hint, though. She files away the detail that he'd been human once, or at least alive in the traditional sense of the word.]

[He's glad for the lack of prodding, honestly. Curses are never polite dinner conversation. He smiles, nodding and giving a little bow. ]

Glad to be of service, mademoiselle! I will take your order to the chef, and be out with your drink in no time.

[He hops off the table and bounces his head off into the kitchen. As promised, it doesn't take him long to return, water on a tray balanced carefully on one of his candles. He's clearly well practised at this, he doesn't spill as he hops up again, raising the tray to her. ]

Here you are, one water.

Are you sure you're okay with that? I could have carried it for you.

[She frowns a little, watching him move. He doesn't seem to be struggling with it, and Natasha means no insult by it. But she doesn't want to put him out.]

[He waves his free candle with cheerful dismissal. ]

Oh, no, it is fine. I have been doing this in this form for a decade now. I am used to it. Merci for the offer, all the same.
